The motel was clean, newly renovated and had great water pressure. No ice machine anywhere but there was a coffee pot, microwave and small fridge. Bed were decent when it comes to comfort, please not there are no plug ins for devices near the bed. Motel is very close to "downtown" and a 5 or 6 minute drive to the hot springs. The issues we had were: Hotels.com says motel office is open 10am to 10pm it is NOT. They close from noon to 4pm so dont bother trying to check in early they do not open that door until 4pm exactly. You also dont actually check in at the motel you need to go across the street to another motel to check in. There is a sign on door that has a number to call if required but do not bother, I called 4 times and no one answered. We had to go to the office to get coffee etc as they didnt clean the room or check it while we were there. Free breakfast is a business card you take to a local ice cream shop for "breakast" you need to go to the office and request one each day.

Basic clean accommodations. Nice reno’s updates this classic motel. Could use new ac unit as it’s loud and slow to cool. Nice patio area if kept tidy and offered better seating but rest of the grounds were well maintained. Overall offered a great price

The room is spacious. It offers basic amenities and 3 minute drive to dining options or convenience stores. And the hotspring. If you have a large truck though, ask for a room at the front because the mountainside rooms would be a bit challenging to maneuver even a small vehicle while parking because there is a trailer parked perpendicular to the parking spots. Accesible along the highway good for a stay on a long haul driving trip.

The main office was locked and "dark" we had to go across the street to register. Got to our room and tried turning on the heat. There was a message to flick the button to heat and wait a "few minutes" and the heat would come on - we spent the night with no heat! Very chilly. Dead flies on the floors

Alpen motel is at very nice location. It is close to the hot springs, the general store and some restaurants. However, the property's cleanliness could be improved. We found some bugs everyday upon returning at the end of the day. There was also no hairdryer. The motel is better for short-term stay (2-3 days).

Had a wonderful 2 night stay here with family. The rooms are clean, bathroom spotless. The heating/cooling works perfectly. It's basic but gets the job done. Better and newer than other motels we have stayed at nearby. Would definitely be coming back.

The room was renovated. But the room has been smoked in some from quite some time ago as it’s in the base board heaters. And potentially smoked in recently. It made for a hard weekend with me being allergic. And very sensitive to cigarette smoke.

I enjoyed my stay at the Alpen. Check in at their sister hotel across the street was easy, and took less than 5 minutes. The front desk staff was very kind! The room was basic, but had everything I needed! Comfy bed, hot water, good pressure, fridge, microwave, and a little balcony with a view! My only complaint was the secondary lock in the door was broke, and they had nailed a piece of wood in as a lock for the sliding glass door as that lock was broken too. As a solo female traveler, it made me a little nervous. I was grateful it was a safe and quiet area, but still not good. If that’s fixed, I would give it 5 stars.

Shabby, worn, but not chic. As expected for th affordable rate. Small room. No dresser bureau or drawers of any kind. Closet with one shelf. Tiny, old bathroom, not renovated. Parking always available. Check in and out was easy and fast. Fridge, mice wave and coffee maker. Situated between hot springs pools and restaurants.

It's pretty clean, but the beds are old with springs sticking out. Very uncomfortable. Not enough parking for everyone, you'd think with such a busy place they at least would have one assigned spot per room. Not worth the money.

Everything was clean and accessible. Staff were friendly and helpful. I love that they have collaborated with a local business for breakfast and coffee. It wasn’t fancy but tasted good and got us started for the day. I would go back! It was a lovely town with a small community feeling. Even the deer were friendly.

We had a terrible stay. Hotel room was clean and decent for the price paid however the other customers and lack of staff made our stay terrible that we left the second night at 11:30pm as we couldn't stand to stay another night. We had come on a family trip with 3 young children. We were placed on the bottom floor (which is fine) however there were about 20 other people there (all together who are in their maybe early 20s) they partied all night at it started at 11pm until 3am. They were on both sides of us as well as above us. We didnt sleep at all, nor could the kids. We decided to wait it out and hoped they would be gone for the second night however again they started another round of the same partying. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night and drove 3.5 hours back to calgary. Highly recommend you look somewhere else to stay it was not worth the cheaper room to not get any sleep at all. Not once did anyone visit the property, which i think they should have considering the cars they rolled up in and moterbikes they knew these individuals were young. These people didnt play music but were very loud yelling and laughing, ran room to room, smoking pot and whatever else they were doing, and coughing like crazy from the smoking right outside our door. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

We chose this property randomly by checking out the main drive in town and then booking on hotels.com. Unfortunately the property did not provide what it seemed to offer on outward appearance. The price charged by the property was approximately $50 more than the hotels.com price. The clerk said, "Yes, a lot of people think the hotels.com price is the one they'll pay, but they don't tell you about the additional fees and charges." We have not experienced this bait & switch pricing before and were very unhappy, especially once we actually saw the sub-par room and accommodations. Very disappointing!

The motel is in a good location on the way up the hill to the hot springs. It is in good condition with a few exceptions like a non GFI in the bathroom right behind the sink. We did have to go across the street to the Apple Tree to check in, which was no big deal. Would stay here again.

The free breakfast was a coupon for Screamers Cafe down on the main drag in town NOT at the hotel. The office was across the street at the apple tree inn, which on a busy highway and wasn’t convenient to cross daily to get the coupons for breakfast. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable. The jets in the tub for the bathroom weren’t working. It was clean but everything else was badly advertised.

We had a good stay at the Alpen Motel. We noticed that not all the outlets were working. Breakfast was included but we did not receive our coupons at check-in. After we called about it we were able to pick them up. The breakfast at Screamers was good!

Breakfast is included. You go to a very cute cafe down the road called Screamers. You have three breakfast options to choose from from 8-11am. They're kind of small but tasty. Looks like the breakfast normally would have cost $5 to purchase. The rooms were clean and came with a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. We brought our own camping stove so could cook our own meals. They also had a BBQ on site but we didn't check out it's condition. Ice machine worked. Staff were nice. We'd stay here again. Very close to the hot springs.
