Un albergo nell'area di servizio di Firenze nord, ma (venendo da Firenze), non si paga pedaggio per andare e tornare. Struttura anni '70, con alcuni segni di usura anche nelle camere. Il ristorante attiguo sembra più una tavola calda: tovaglietta di carta e qualità del cibo comunque accettabile. La stanza è essenziale, pulita e comunque confortevole. Il parcheggio è solo esterno, anche se l'ingresso e l'uscita sono protette da sbarre automatiche. La colazione a buffet è comunque soddisfacente.

We booked this hotel since we wanted a spot close to highway and the hotel offered free parking in its premises. Location - very close to highway, so easy to go in and out of Florence. We drove to Michael Angelo sunset viewpoint with ease. However, the hotel is in industrial area away from city. There is tram stop nearby, if you wish to go to city. Hotel room - we booked 1 room with 4 beds. We got room on 5th floor. Lifts are extremely small. However, we were taken aback by the spacious room and amazing mountain and city views. Negative - mosquitos in the room, so carry sprays. Hotel staff - found the person who checked us in extremely rude. We had 4 big bags and she denied that we couldnt use the bigger lift. The customer lifts were super tiny. One of the other staff members overheard us and decided to help us out. Breakfast - pretty goof for the price we paid.

I stayed at this location because the description of the hotel said it had an airport shuttle, but when I tried to book it, they said they didn’t have one. I had to get a taxi for about €45. If you are traveling by public transportation from Florence, this is not an easy place to get to so I wouldn’t recommend it.

Die Lobby war extrem laut, an der Bar war Party-Stimmung, so dass man die Rezeptionistin nicht verstehen konnte. Das Frühstück sehr sehr einfach, es gibt das nötigste. Im Zimmer war es umso besser, das erfüllte einen weit höheren Standard und bot neben einem guten Klima eine sehr gute Schlafqualität. Für eine Pause auf einer langen Strecke ist das Hotel sehr gut.

Aweful!!!! This is not a 4 stars hotel. It was not clean. If you travel with kids don’t go there if you know what I mean. At 7 am we waited for the elevator 30 min we were almost late for the tour we booked. My husband came downstairs using the stairs to ask for help because we were on the 8th floor with 2 large luggages. The lady told us it was normal because they have 2 elevators for 2 people only fitting inside. This is the worse experience of my life.

Our two night stay at The Gate Hotel was a base for us to go to see Florence but enable us to park our rental car safely and conveniently. We had the feeling this hotel is often used by tour groups which came late and left early. We learnt the best way in to Florence was to park our car at the airport 4km away, and costs €1 then hop on the tram into the city centre €1.70. Our stay was comfortable, but breakfast was slightly disappointing, and a bit chaotic after the groups had just left. The location didn’t bother us but it’s not picturesque. For us we just needed a clean comfortable room and a safe car park.

Orribile, sporchissimo, i pochi mobili tutti scrostati, una sedia sola, mucillaggine nera nei flaconi del sapone, piano doccia intasato fisso che esonda, flusso acqua lavandino violentissumo e inutilizzabile. The hotel really needs to be updated. Filthy carpets, flooring needs to be repaired or better yet replaced. The hallways are used for smoking. Dead mosquitoes on the walls and ceilings. The airco can’t handle the heat in the daytime. It was not comfortable in the daytime. The personnel were very friendly and helpfull.

Disgusting, dirty! I wish I could upload pictures of the dirty toilets, stained sheets, laminate floors unsafe to walk on! Stained , smelly and general unclean areas all over ! From hair in my sick to urine in the toilet! The hall smelled like sewage! The soap dispensers didn’t work, shower flooded,,,, a totally horrid stay!

The pictures show something different from what is in reality. The accommodation has been renovated on the inside, but not on the outside. The reception girls were very nice. Unfortunately, the condition of the room was very unsatisfactory. The curtain was dirty, and behind it was thick dust and heard bugs. There were traces of renovation on the floor, which gave a strange feeling. The blanket had no cover, it was put between two sheets. The tap in the bathroom had not been cleaned, unfortunately it was very plaque. The hairdryer broke during use. Unfortunately, the breakfast was also worthless, the scrambled eggs had no egg taste. Only the coffee was delicious. The reception girls and the breakfast girl were nice. I'm sorry that I have to write a bad review. I do not recommend it.

The room itself was clean, but the hallways and elevator were old and dirty. There were many carpet stains, and dead mosquitos accumulating in the elevator. It also smelled of smoke in the hallways and elevator. At least the location was convenient to the airport (although still requires a taxi), which is what we needed. The restaurant is decent as well, and the service is kind.

We chose The Gate because it is 10-minute taxi ride from Florence Airport. The room was great for the low price. The restaurant in the hotel served decent food, too. They arranged for our 4:00 am taxi to the airport.

Very friendly and helpful staff. we want to send a big thank you to Paola who with great patience and competence explained about Florence and Pisa and its communications. A fantastic person. Reception workers were very pleasant and helpful, but restaurant stuff thats on premises horrible!! My son and I decided to have dinner there. After sitting down menus were given to us but after that no one came to even ask what we wanted to drink. I finally said something to one the waiters walking by. We’re ordered drinks and food and waited. Looked like there were local workers there and everyone was being served before us even though they came after. My son and I decided to leave. I don’t mind waiting, but being totally ignored by stuff walking by is horrendous!!

This hotel does not have proper management as our room is taken by someone else when we arrive and they had to send us to another hotel which has even no water cup provided in the room. There is no promised parking space available as a result of this change and we need to have our money refunded!

The hotel and the room were overall good. It could have been a little cleaner in the lobby, it looks a little run down. The dining area was nice. The bar area was cute. I wish there was a pool! My biggest complaints were that the safe didn’t work so I was not able to lock anything in it, and the location of the hotel. It’s about 20-30 minutes via taxi into Florence. I didn’t realize it was so far away when I booked it.

The room was great, clean and tidy. The ladies at reception were very helpful and gave us all the information we needed. The food was very nice for the price. However the service in the restaurant was poor. There was a lot of staff not doing anything and only 1 lady appeared to be doing everything. We could see one of the waiters was making guests feel uncomfortable by standing over them having only just been given the menu. When I asked for a desert menu I was sent to get the bill-granted this may have been lost in translation. We felt rushed: my partner had finished eating but I had not when staff came to take her plate, I saw this was common on all the tables with customers having a similar reaction to us. The process of paying seemed messy and unorganised and extremely customer reliant rather than relaxed as you would expect at a 4 star hotel. None of the staff were wearing coherent uniform which again-took away from the whole dining experience with one waiter wearing what appeared to be joggers. It seemed disorganised, rushed and overall not a pleasant experience. Like I say though, for the price, the food was good.
