The hotel was under construction without our knowledge at time of booking (day before check in). We had to walk down the street a different hotel to check in and walk back to the original hotel for our room (again in the morning for breakfast). Construction started at 7am with jack hammers and drills. I would never recommend this hotel!

This hotel was a bit of a bust. It is equivalent to a youth hostel. The toilet was leaking and the bathroom floor was flooded, there would be no plumber until after we left, so we had to stand in water if we were using the facilities. Also, there was construction going on and they started working at 06:45. You are also located on the only street through town so cars traveling late into the night. The staff was really nice though

There is an elevator but only for luggage so be prepared to walk a few flights of stairs. Also sister hotel where staff is located for check in/out and a very mediocre breakfast is served is not across the street but about a block away down the road. Would likely not stay again.

Great location,staff and views. It was walkable to everything and had a very nice breakfast. It was underconstruction so it was a bit loud at times but was quiet at night. I would stay here again because of location and price. If you want a upscale hotel look else where but the staff was really nice and helpful.

Room was incredibly clean, and very comfortable. We even had wine and food on our balcony! Convenient store downstairs. New renovations going on, but that will make it even better in a few weeks. This place is so close to the train, so you can easily walk everywhere, but you don't have to drag your luggage to the far side of town. The breakfast at the sister hotel was quite good.

I like the view from the balcony where I couldn’t open the door all the way because it was hitting the bed. The property was under the remodel, which was a shock to us! There was no reception or lobby. The room was unappealing. No pictures on the walls, no area rugs. We couldn’t figure out how to turn on a TV. The hair dryer was ancient. I was not able to plug in my own hairdryer, didn’t fit in any outlet. For breakfast we had to walk to another hotel. The hotel was not cheap and I don’t recommend it.

Not quite as convenient as it looks on the map because you need to walk about 1 block to Hotel Montecodeno at 146 Via Venini for check in, check out, and breakfast. There is an elevator in the hotel. Wifi works well and breakfast has a variety of options. I stayed by myself in a double room which was fine; I suspect the single rooms may be quite small.

There wasn’t very good signage on the hitel and they were going through some remodeling. We Couldn’t figure out how to get into the hotel once we found it unfortunately another hotel Guest came out and told us we had to walk a block down to a different hotel to actually check in other than that. Everything was good.

Hotel Beretta was very clean. Elevator was comically slow but convenient for bringing up luggage. Breakfast options were great and even had gluten free selections. Convenient to boat dock and restaurants. Varenna is magical.

Ved ankomst var værelset meget fugtigt og var meget tydeligt ramt af skimmelsvamp i badeværelse og til dels i selve soveværelset. Da vi gjorde opmærksom på det og bad om et anden værelse, blev dette negligeret og affejet med at der ikke var ledige værelser. Først mere end 24 timer efter (og skriftlig henvendelse til hotels.com) blev værelset forsøgt rengjort med klor. Det er tydeligt at der er problemer med fugt over loft. Da dette også var i fordelingsgangen. Ellers god beliggenhed, udemærket morgenmadsbuffet. Hotellet har potentiale - men på nuværende tidspunkt er det ikke pengene værd.

The room and bed were very clean. Staff was extremely kind and helpful- I was nervous about the check-in since it was during a limited time frame but the staff were very communicative. The second hotel where you check in is right on the next block and takes less than a minute to walk to. The train station is only a couple of minutes walk away and a big positive. Only drawbacks were that the walls were a bit thin and there seemed to be a bar closer to the lake that was hosting a concert on one of the nights we were there and we could hear it in our room. We were tired so we slept through it but for light sleepers during peak travel time it might be an issue. I personally would stay here again.

Hotel Beretta is in an ideal location in Varenna. Easy access to the ferries and the train. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of options. Some rooms have balconies that have beautiful lake views. There is a great restaurant on the ground floor as well.

Friendly front desk host ,easy check in. Rooms were ready before check in time frame ,so they let us in the room early to dropp off the luggages and enjoy the town. Rooms were clean . The breakfast was good and the lady who is taking care the service in the breakfast area was very helpful.

Not as it seemed online. It was dirty, small and water leaked in the bathroom. Also we had a loud neighbor or staff above us that moved furniture all night, keeping us awake. Not a great stay but it is in a very convenient and great location.

The hotel is pretty basic but we had room 10, which is very spacious with a large balcony. The hotel is close to train station and the ferry dock, easy walk to town center and attractions. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

There were a few minor problems with the room such a faulty bathroom door lock and an extremely noisy and offputting extractor fan noise. The bed was also not very comfy. However, the property was clean, the location could not be any better, and the staff were extremely helpful.

Great location near train and ferry. While basic, Hotel Beretta was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff was helpful. Air conditioning was good. Shower is tiny but to be expected in a retrofit. Breakfast was average. We booked late and could not find waterfront properties, but found Hotel Beretta more than adequate.

Las paredes son muy delgadas y se escuchan todas las habitaciones. Había unos niños muy ruidosos y no podíamos descansar, nos cambiaron a otra habitación y era mejor! Muchas gracias!! Si van a venir a este hotel, solo vale la pena la habitación 5, es espaciosa, tiene un balcón con vista al lago. Está muy cerca de la estación del tren.

This hotel is literally less than a 5 minute walk from the train station. This is a sister hotel, so you need to check in at the main hotel which is about a 2 minute walk. This is where there breakfast is served, which was more than adequate to start the day. Our room had a balcony with partial lake view, which was nice in the evening. I would stay here again if back in Varenna.

As others have mentioned the noise is pretty unbearable. If you are looking to get some sleep this is not the hotel to do that. Every time someone walks, opens a door, closes a door or even moves causes a loud noise in the rooms above or next to you. Also, the bed in room 10 was all springs as the mattress is so worn. It is very uncomfortable and unhealthy to sleep directly on the springs. The rooms were spacious and location was great. Staff was also nice and responsive and it was very clean.

This is an incredible hotel, with perhaps the best location in Lake Como. Giulia was very kind and helpful upon check-in. And the best was to come - the location and the view (if you get a lake viewing room) are unbeatable! Varenna is perhaps the best town on Como, and you are steps from the Lido (small beach), beautiful walks, and the walk up to Castello di Vezio. Regarding the room- it was super clean, comfortable and had all we needed, with nice small touches. We did not agree with any of the concerns others manifested (eg, noise)

The young man went out of his way to helpfully check us in, carry our cases and show us to our rooms. Wonderful service by him. Rooms both very good size and clean with excellent amenities apart from poor hair dryer and slamming 3 fire doors below my room, which is the entrance to the building so can not be stopped. Location great - very close to train station and lake front. Great value hotel all in all. Breakfast not so good. We were told it was 8-10, arrived at 8.05 to find the door locked and lights out. The woman opened the door but left us sitting in the dark while we waited for her to put the breakfast out. She was very unwelcoming!

Staff were so helpful! Room was basic but for the price with breakfast included it is incredible value! Has convenient shop below which serves food coffee cakes etc. Check in was at a separate location only a minute walk away and was all quick and easy. Walkable distance to everything and really close to train station and ferry terminal. The hotel also stored our luggage all day after check out. Breakfast had good offering of cakes pastries toast pancakes and included tea and coffee. Would definitely stay here again and for the price in comparison to other places would definitely recommend.

We had a very good 4 night stay . Room on top floor with big balcony, spacious room. Matteo the manager was very helpful and accommodating. Bar downstairs closed early so no issue, street maybe a little noisy only for light sleepers Breakfast was at adjoining sister hotel, good selection. Both train and ferry, 5 minutes walk.

Great location. 5-8 minutes away from the Train and Ferry station. They also provide Breakfast. Very close to all the tourist attractions. The room we stayed in had a partial lake view, and the bed was comfortable. It is safe and clean.

This hotel is literally less than a 5 minute walk from the train station. This is a sister hotel, so you need to check in at the main hotel which is about a 2 minute walk. This is where there breakfast is served, which was more than adequate to start the day. Our room had a balcony with partial lake view, which was nice in the evening. I would stay here again if back in Varenna.

The hotel location is very convenient. From Varenna train station, it’s about 1 block. Across the street from the Ferry Terminal and the city center is about 5 minute walk from the Ferry terminal. The hotel is not fancy but very comfortable and super clean. The included breakfast was very good. The breakfast and checkin was at the sister hotel about 5 minute walk. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Our room even had a partial lake view.

We requested room on second floor which was large and had a balcony but little privacy outside and loud due to constant foot traffic below. There is an elevator but only for luggage so be prepared to walk a few flights of stairs. Also sister hotel where staff is located for check in/out and a very mediocre breakfast is served is not across the street but about a block away down the road. Would likely not stay again.

Very nicely located near the ferry and walkable to all main attractions. The only issue is the wall is too thin that we can hear everything on the hallway. Other than that, everything is very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

This was definitely a hidden gem! Truly the perfect location, super close to the ferry and train station. We booked last minute and were skeptical but enjoyed our stay so much we extended it by another night! There's a great store/deli right under the hotel that had great sandwiches! The view from our room was incredible and we couldn't have asked for anything more!

Great location near train and ferry. While basic, Hotel Beretta was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff was helpful. Air conditioning was good. Shower is tiny but to be expected in a retrofit. Breakfast was average. We booked late and could not find waterfront properties, but found Hotel Beretta more than adequate.

Service was on point, and so was the localization. However the receptions localization and breakfast is in a building 100m away which wasn’t that big of a issue. The biggest problem we had was that there was a lot of noise from the street outside but also from within the same building, this made our night sleep quite difficult. The bed was not so comfy and there was no hair conditioner available. The tv didn’t work but we didn’t come to watch television in lake como. The place was cleaned everyday. Breakfast was varied and they offered gluten-free alternatives. Overall a bit expensive for what you get.

Great location of the property- close to the train station, the boat service and next to the lake. The balcony overlooking the lake was amazing. Lack of cab service in the town causes people to walk with their luggage to the hotels. This hotel is probably the closest hotel with 5 min walk from the train station. The AC was on but not cooling. However, cool breeze from the balcony provided the relief. But then there were too many mosquitoes at night, so had to close the balcony doors which made the room uncomfortable to sleep.

A perfect location for our stay in Varenna. Really close to the lakefront and ferry port, which was ideal - and only a 5min walk down from the train station. The room was simple, but clean and enough space for 2 of us. We luckily had a lovely view out over the lake. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and we made use of the fridge and the coffee maker. We did get quite hot in the room (admittedly - the weather was super hot, so made it worse!) - the aircon seemed to struggle a bit, but the management supplied a fan for the room to help. Easy check-in - with the details having been sent before we arrived, and great communication for the Hotel management.
