I’ve stayed here for years enroute from Toronto to Thunder Bay. Great location, clean and quiet. Nothing fancy, but generally well maintained. Travelled with dog , no issues for them. Extra charge for dog is reasonable.

Great value at this hotel. The exterior may look a bit outdated but the rooms were surprisingly nice, especially for the nightly rate. The rooms were also very clean, had everything we needed and the lady at the front desk was very friendly. This was also the only hotel on our 6-night trip that offered blankets for our dog. Kudos!

The person beside my room was such an annoyance. Going in and out of their room c, starting their car all night, and being loud. The walls are thin so I couldn’t get a good sleep at all. Not the staff or hotels fault…. Just inconsiderate people who were staying the night. Hotel room was amazing otherwise

Nice people operate this place. An older motel that has been fixed up to clean and modern standards. The parking lot is old asphalt that is very uneven and the wall mount AC unit is incredibly loud. But hopefully the white noise of it will keep it from being too much noise. Can’t hear the tv with the AC on. It is a clean place to stay the night without breaking the bank.

Room was suitable for our needs - we stayed overnight while travelling through. Had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Room had a bit of a musty smell and seemed to get warm fast without the a/c on. Fridge in room was welcome. Water temperature in shower was inconsistent (ran warm, hot then cold). A/c was really loud but appreciated as it was warm outside. Good location, easy to get around to restaurants, gas stations etc.

no USB port . Limited electric outlets Found 3. Awkward placement of what appears to be towel rack . iIt and 3 non removable clothe hangers are above the microwave which is on top of the fridge. Very neat and clean and good quality sheets . Bed comfortable.

I would not hesitate to stay here again! Staff was extremely friendly & though it doesn't look like a lot from the outside, you can tell they have made a lot of improvements / updates inside the rooms. It was kept extremely clean throughout our stay. Shout out to Violet & her Apple Fritter recommendation at the Voyaguers' General Store & Dry house....best we've ever had!!!

This is a motel that is clearly run by people who care about their customers and their business. They were very accommodating of a couple of requests and I really appreciated that. Room was very clean, coffee well stocked,.bed very comfortable,.price reasonable. It will be my first choice when I stop in Sault Ste Marie.

There’s nothing wrong with the immediate area, just nowt special about it either. It’s good and close to Trans Canada Hwy, close to fast food and family restaurants and gas stations. The AC unit kept beeping overnight waking us up, but that’s our fault coz i fiddled with the settings without looking closely at it. If I left it on auto it wouldn’t have done that, no fault of hotel.

The property is older but the rooms have been updated and are extremely clean. It is on a very busy road, however there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. We have stayed there before and probably will again.

We stayed one night at this motel. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. It is on a busy street, but our room was in the back and was quiet. The a/c unit was noisy, but for the price, this was an excellent choice for us! Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a no frills, budget friendly motel!

Check on was quick and easy, front counter lady was friendly and courteous. Centrally located with lots of restaurant options and shopping nearby. Rooms are clean and well maintained despite being an older building. Would stay again.

Very clean and a decent option for a motel. Front desk staff were nice. Spent a couple of nights and the room assigned to us was very close to the office but we didn't mind. Good location with a number of restaurants nearby. Affordable, clean and you can park in front of your room. Will not hesitate to stay here again when we visit.

Two old gringos found the Northlander bright and clean, roomy, well-equipped. Located in a cluster of hotels/motels of varying categories on a strip of businesses running out of town. Easy to check in, park. Limited contact with friendly staff. We strongly recommend “The Breakfast Pig (A Badass Eatery)”, 4 minute drive, for your morning repast.

All staff we met were wonderful. In town so you're close to a lot of walkable eating establishments. Even though we're on the main highway, noise level was minimal. Grew up in the Sault and didn't know this place existed until I was searching for pet friendly motel/hotel. Definitely recommended.

A clean quiet motel close to the trans-canada highway. Close to a grocery store, fast food. Microwave and fridge were clean and ready for use. We will stop again on our way back along the transCanada higheay
