I was not able to get on the Internet nor was anyone able to help. I had to walk by smoke and smokers to get into the hotel. The pot holes driving in are embarrassing. They have been there over 5 years. You may want to let your staff know the hours for A and W beside your hotel. I use to always stay at your hotel. I travel to Thunder Bay for 4 days every 3 months on business

The pool was filthy and my children cut their toes in the pool as well. Wifi did not work in our room, we complained but nothing was done. Not worth the $600 I paid for the 2 nights.

Spent a week there for a family matter and everything worked out excellent! Staff were super friendly and the room and elevators were very clean. Pool and hot tub were well taken care of as well

We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott TownePlace Suites. The location was close to restaurants and hotels at the waterfront. The bed was comfortable and the room had more storage than I had ever seen, even in a suite. It had a full kitchen as well. The only downsides were the very poor quality of the pillows, and trying to avoid the big potholes driving into the parking lot.

Unfortunately, there was no hot water. We did not use the facilities e.g. pool and hot tub, as there was no hot water to have a shower. We booked a room with a bed couch and king bed. When the bed couch is folded out you can not walk around the bed or couch! Room is not designed well!!

Close to. Restaurants and shopping.The room was small ,the bathroom fan did not work when l told the front desk employee they said they would report that to maintenance.No one came to look at it.At times a light in the bathroom and one over the work desk would flicker rapidly like a strobe,very annoying! The included breakfast was good. The pool was nice and clean and heated .

This is a nice hotel only one issue for me, the hotel smells like cigarette smoke when you walk in the door and my allergies and breathing didn't like it. I think the hotel needs an air quality cleansing. Other than that my stay was great.

I was disappointed to see how some doors and walls were scuffed and paint off. TV didn't work properly and when we talked to front desk about it they said they would have maintenance go in and see what's wrong while we were out for dinner. When we returned we were told it's normal , tv works some times and sometime not. There was a nasty nauseating odor in the bathroom, possible urine . The heat unit was very noisy and vibrating all night. Was expecting better

The room had garbage left in drawer and it was extremely noisy. There were multiple Vallard worker rooms around us who were up very early in the morning for work and were not quiet and disrespected other hotel guests who were sleeping. We should have never been placed in an area of the hotel with multiple rooms of workers where the hotel knew it would be loud early in the morning. Extremely disappointed with hotel. I paid good money to not even be able to get any sleep.

The check-in was excellent with friendly staff who went beyond by offering my toddler a chocolate bar. Upon arriving to the room and at first glance, it seemed fine and more than expected with a full kitchenette. However, when we looked at the beds, we noticed the pillows were at the bottom and misisng pillow cases. 2 were stained and were disgusting. This was obviously an oversight. Someone forgot to change the pillows. After a few trips to the front desk, we managed to get enough pillow cases for all but one, but this wasn't the cleanliness or service we'd expect from this hotel brand or price at well over $300 for a night. The carpet was also stained in several places and had holes in it. The room needs to be renovated. Curtains were also stained. Everyone was friendly, but on our 14 night cross country road trip, this hotel room was the least clean one we stayed in by far, and yet was one of the most the most expensive.

The first room they gave us was not cleaned. There were dirty towels in the bathroom and food left in the cupboard and it smelled like stale turmeric. The dining table had a chair with a broken seat. I moved the chair and the seat fell off! We made them give us a different room and it was marginally better. Very run down and worn. I expect so much better from a Marriott. The sitting chair was so worn and dirty we didn’t even use it. We took the sheet off one of the beds and laid it on the floor to put our suitcases on. It was just nasty. I would avoid staying in Thunder Bay all together. And the room was expensive!!

Omar, the front desk staff member was ver friendly and helpful. He offered places to see in Thunder Bay and made restaurant suggestions. He made us feel very welcome. The hotel was nice, but the public areas and hallways could use a good cleaning. The room was clean, large and had a full size frig, which was nice. Linens were fairly plush. Bathroom was large.

Room smelled stale when I checked in. Don’t get a room on the North side of the hotel. There were rigs idling all night in the parking lot next door and the garbage trucks emptying the big bins behind the hotel will make a wake up call completely unnecessary. All that being said, the staff were fantastic and the free coffee was good. Fridge and microwave in the room came in handy. The included breakfast was ok…does anyone seriously eat turkey bacon? The noise notwithstanding, it’s a good location close to food options, groceries, and centrally located.

The hotel is tired. The bed was excellent. The breakfasts were wonderful. The service is excellent. There is a great kitchenette with a large fridge. The problem is the furniture and the decoration. The hotel is painted in yellow. The furniture. Is lime green and is VERY worn. Part of my issue is that I don’t like the colour combinations. However it is worn out. It still works but needs an update Now!

We are a family of 4 and we stayed for one night. Check in was smooth and front desk staff helpful and pleasant. Room was very large with a full kitchen. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Pool is a bit small and was busy but the water was warm and experience enjoyable.

I was upset that the TV was not working for the first 7 days we were there. We wanted to watch some of the Scotties curling on TV as seniors we can't always attend 3 games a day and usually pick which 2 to go to and which one we will watch on TV. It was frustrating to rest in your room and nothing to watch. Being senior, senior we are not up on all the newest technology for streaming, still count on TVs. I thought we would have received a discount but even when I asked for a print out of my bill I only got one page and didn't get the full bill. Everything was great, except for a one minor issue. The coffee pot in our room had no lid, but staff were very attentive to this issue. 24/7 coffee in the breakfast room was wonderful! Early breakfast at 6:30am. Breakfast was amazing! Rooms were very clean and very comfy beds. Hotel is super clean. A special shout out to Pritish who went above and beyond in guest services. He really made us feel very welcome. Overall this place deserves 5 stars in every category!! Would stay here most definitely if ever in Thunder Bay again!! By far the best hotel stay of our road trip.

The room was bad. I told them at the front desk that room was not good and they made no offer to move me. No one came to clean the room the next day. I asked about it twice. Finally when I complained at 6:30pm they sent a maintenance person to come clean up the room. He was pretty unkind I guess because he didn’t want to be there doing that. I’ve stayed here before and never had bad experience but I’m not pleased about this 2 night stay. Thanks

Right there on main highway. Was nice not to have to cross town to find it. Our dog Griffin felt comfortable with the staff and in the room. We’ve stayed here before and will take advantage of it again in the future.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in the Thunder Bay area. While it's not close to any sort of Lake view, it's conveniently located near restaurants and a quick drive to the lake. It was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable.

Always a great place to stay in Thunder Bay. Easy access to most anything you need. Superstore is right beside it so you can grab food to stock the fridge and cupboards in your room to make a snack or even a quick meal.

Our room’s bathroom fan did not work. There were hundreds of cigarette butts outside of the hotel. Breakfast food was not great. People working at the hotel were very friendly and respectful. It was too much money for this place.

I really liked the location of this hotel. I also enjoyed the fact that there was a kitchenette if we wanted to cook and the size of fridge was fantastic. The continental breakfast was also very good.

Lovely property but we felt it was overpriced. Staff was friendly, especially Jeff at the front desk who went out of his way to explain everything, recommend restaurants, etc. Terrific welcome and first impression. Breakfast was not memorable, but it was convenient.
