Unfortunately, this was one of our least favourite stays. The heating didn’t work, we were freezing all night, and the room felt very basic and dated. We stayed in the annex building, which didn’t add much charm either. I was quite surprised by the high ratings; personally, I found it to be very average at best. Free parking is available.

Beautiful location with plenty of darkness to see northern lights if it's clear out. The hot tubs were nice, tasty beer at the front desk, good breakfast included and convenient to gas, food etc in Egilsstaðir.

Cute little cabin, but small and basic with little room to get around beds. It had small table for two, sink, fridge and two burners. In beautiful wooded area, with deck. We didn't have dinner there but breakfast was great with many options and hot drinks. over looking their beautiful property. They offer an upstairs lounge overlooking their pretty property which would be enjoyed by groups i am sure. Liked that the bathroom temperature could be controlled separately from the sleeping area (separate radiators) but found the pillows too floppy and soft, and the outlet placed poorly right behind the bed.

Gemütliches Hotel etwas außerhalb des Ortes im Wald gelegen. Das Zimmer war gemütlich und gut ausgestattet. Umfangreiches Frühstück mit Waffeln, aber der Frühstücksraum war sehr voll und heiß. 2 Hot Tubes auf der Terrasse, beide sauber und gemütlich warm.

Absolutely amazing. There are three areas to stay. Cabins, long single story building with private little outlooks/access to woods, and a hotel type. We stayed in the one level building and it was incredible. So quiet and clean. Large rooms. Perfect views for the lights right out your room. Staff was SO nice. Fav hotel in Iceland.

Shower did not work well. Bathroom was flooded due to a improper seals for the shower doors. That is the first such experience for me in nearly 30 years of my travel.

Stayed two nights in one of their economy cabins and loved the accommodations. Very charming & convenient for a solo traveller. One critique would be that I happen to have been placed in the only “dated” cabin. From the exterior, the others did appear to have been updated. Still, I enjoyed the accommodations. But I’m curious to know what the others were like. Staff were friendly & courteous. Breakfast was great and offered both hot & cold options, which were perfect before a day of exploration.

Best place Ive stayed in Iceland. The staff were very friendly and the owner was such a sweetheart. It has a bed and breakfast feel and made me feel like I was right at home. If you are looking for something that isnt a standard impersonal hotel this is the place.

Hot water was came out extremely hot and had slight sulfur smell, but pretty unique experience to be using thermally heated water for the first time. The staff was helpful but had stretched thin with large tour groups. The dinner was very good and reasonably priced, as was the hotel.

Despite initial skepticism, renting at this location exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed my stay, it is a bit isolated but this makes it great for anyone traveling to Iceland, especially during the Aurora months. Lovely property tucked in a corner of Egilsstadir. Was snowing heavily around so did not get to enjoy much of the views around here. The owner was very friendly and gave us some tips about the area. Would definitely recommend this hotel and town as a stop if you are doing the ring road.
