A very good, slightly formal hotel that's maintained to a high standard. Breakfasts are generous. Rooms well kept. Dinners well prepared. Location was perfect for us as it wasn't too busy. My only constructive feedback is that staff were not the friendliest I've encountered. However, all in all a good experience and happy we stayed there.

I had a few days in Northumberland with overnight stays of varying levels of quality and value for money. It was always my plan to stay near the Lakes on my last night before heading home and I’m so glad I chose this hotel. Staff were very friendly and the service was perfection. You preorder your dinner which is served at a set time in the evening, which worked really well and everything working like clockwork. Lovely room and really comfortable bed. Beautiful views from the front of the hotel and although I was at the back I had an equally lovely view of two horses grazing in a field nearby. Breakfast was tasty and ample. I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and hope to return one day.

A stay at The Glaramara is one of my annual “guilty pleasures”! It is not a cheap option but it is an excellent hotel. High quality rooms, friendly & efficient staff, great cuisine and plenty of parking. The location, overlooking some of the great fells of The Lakes is breathtaking.

Great choice as always, such a peaceful location with hotel in its own grounds.
