2 adults + 2 kids (6 & 9) - August 2025. Really nice room (biggest room) with two sleeping areas, a living area, kitchenette and street view. It really made for a comfortable and pleasant vacation. Conveniently located to all the main restaurants, shopping and harbor. Bus stop 1 is only a minute away, where you catch day tours. Wonderful staff (thanks Sergey & Gina!) and a nice breakfast in the bar area. I highly recommend and will stay there again.

It was great but very loud during the night because of others staying around us. We didn’t sleep great because of it. Also the bar on site is heavily advertised but it wasn’t open once while we were there for our 3 nights. Other than that it is a convenient location and staff was very nice and helpful

The hotel was great. Staff was great. The only thing that was not great was the parking situation. The only available parking was street parking around the lake which is about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on what is available. I would stay at this location again, just be aware of the parking situation. This is most likely a problem that all hotels in the downtown are have to deal with.

Its a great property right in the middle of downtown, yet very quiet and opposite a church and hence secluded from the noise. Staff were very friendly. I took the buffet option for my kids and they loved it. The staff at the buffet were fantastic. So was the front desk. Our room was super clean and we had more space than what we needed or expected. It was a 3 room apartment. The hotel doesn't provide parking but there is plenty of parking in front (P1) or around the block (P2). I would consider staying there again.

Very nice property in a great part of town, close to the main pedestrian street and nearby the Harpa Opera House. Only negative is no hotel parking - street only, which can be expensive. Room was very nice and comfortable.

The hotel resides in a "historic building" , as a non-smoking property in expedia. The lobby and rooms smell from a mix of cigarettes' smoke, old building odors mixed with oils to mask the smells. No nonsmoking signed are posted. Their courtyard, is designated as the smoking place, with many of the rooms face their with open windows, so the rooms were smelly. Room was spacious and well equipped.

I loved everything about this property. The cleanliness was out of this world. The breakfast buffet and the staff could not have been better. Plus our room ended up being this little private room across a walkway. That was just nothing what I thought it would be.We will definitely be back to stay here.

Fantastic location, unexpectedly large room, very clean, modernized bathroom, amenities available downstairs 24/7. Two extremely minor nitpicks: * The church next door rings bells frequently. The sound isolation in our room was ok, but we still heard them at night. Hotel did provide earplugs. * The TV was small and pretty barebones - only live TV and a "pay per view" app. You can connect other devices with an HDMI cable, but it's not as nice as being able to sign in to your own streaming apps.

Many restaurants and shops nearby, perfect location. Super friendly staff. Spacious room with kitchenette, great shower. Nothing bad to say except maybe some noise from church bell across the street (we were at the front and right across from it), but slept through it so no big issue. Highly recommend.

This hotel is in a perfect location and walkable to the main street and most of the City. The front desk staff is friendly. The rooms are cozy and clean. We've stayed here twice: once with our kids and once as a couple. We love that they have rooms with living areas, small kitchens, and second bedrooms. The second bedroom and bathroom was extremely small, but standard for Iceland i guess.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel. I forgot which number bus stop it was near but, it helped out that it was close by. The room itself was clean, warm, and comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect for us as we were able to come back and have dinner and breakfast before heading out. The area that it was in was also perfect and walkable to other areas in the city. It was still in the crowd but also away from it as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

The room was very spacious, the beds were firm which I wouldn't usually like but I slept well and the shower was unreal. Felt like our own personal sauna. The staff were lovely, I had talked to two male members of staff during my stay and they were both outstanding. Very knowledgeable, keen to help us explore and gave great travel advice, also very friendly and were always excited to hear what we had planned. The response I had when I said I was from New Zealand was nice to hear as well. Service is what made this an outstanding stay.

Amazing stay! Would highly reccomend. Nothing was any trouble to them. Staff super friendly and helpful. Very clean and tidy. Room was stunning and large. It was warm and beds were comfortable. Free croissants and tea and coffee for when you are off on your days out. Location was the best and could get anywhere in the city within 10 minutes walk. And northern lights i wouldnt bother with excurcsions just hire a car and drive into darkness to see them its FREE.

This is an amazing location, the room was perfect and exactly as described, and the people working at the front desk were incredibly nice and helpful. We arrived several hours early, and expected to drop off our bags, and instead our room was ready and they let us check in early. The front desk appears to have someone there 24/7, we saw someone there when we left/arrived after aurora hunting at 1am and 2am, and they always asked how it went, but you can enter with your code at any time. I specifically wanted a kitchenette because I have picky eaters and wanted to be able to make food for them. Our room had a fridge and a stovetop, which suited our needs perfectly. Despite the amazing location, this was not the most expensive hotel meeting our needs. It was also a perfect location for tour pickups, which was incredibly convenient. I would absolutely stay here again, and I would absolutely recommend it to friends traveling to the area.

Super conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions, and has multiple bus stops near by. The room was lovely and having a kitchenette was great. We dropped by early to leave our bags at the hotel but the staff let us into our room a few hours early without a charge since it was already ready. Very happy with the service and comfort!

This property was centrally located - we parked our car in a nearby lot and walked downtown Reykjavik. There are tons on restaurants in the area. The staff is FANTASTIC, super friendly & helpful. There isn't one negative thing to say ... the entire experience was super positive. We HIGHLY recommend!

Really loved this hotel. We originally only planned to stay our first night and then move on to a different Reykjavík hotel later on in our vacation. But we enjoyed the Kvosin so much, that we canceled the other hotel and came back here for 3 more nights! Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It’s so close to everything. Highly recommend!

We were in Reykjavik for one night before we boarded our cruise ship and it was centrally located to Harpa where we needed to be to drop off luggage for said cruise and walking distance from everything downtown and short walk from the bus 2 stop!

Location, location, location. Fine dining and stores within walking distance. One caveat is you will hear the church bell every hour on the hour (which will be a challenge for all properties in the surrounding area) so keep that in mind. Windows are pretty thick the distinct bell sound is hard to not notice. Regardless, the property is in an ideal location central to everything in the downtown area.

We loved the hotel, the staff were so friendly and our room was great. Our only complaint is that it felt like we were trying to sleep at an Icelandic rave. Very loud! I would recommend upgrading the windows. From the airplanes, party culture etc. we didn’t get much sleep.

The Kvosin is a conveniently located hotel in downtown Reykjavik. It is across the street from parliament, and around the corner from city hall. This latter detail is important because Bus Stop 1 is located here, and is the drop-off / pick-up point for many tours. Most, if not everything, you want to do in Reykjavik is within walking distance of the hotel. There are many shops and restaurants nearby, and the Catholic cathedral is about 2 - 3 blocks to the west. The area is relatively quiet. The one noise you will consistently hear is the bell from the church across the street. It rings every quarter hour. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. If / when I visit Iceland again, I would stay at the Kvosin.

What a great stay. Check in was very easy with help from the friendly staff. We were upgraded, which was a nice surprise. Our room was clean and spacious with access to a terrace. The breakfast was good. This hotel is in a great location to walk to anything you may need. I would absolutely book another stay.

This was my second time staying at Kvosin downtown hotel and it was exceptional both times. Customer service at the front desk was top notch. They were so gracious and helpful with everything from lending us a power adapter to giving us a heads up on street closures, to helping me figure out how to use the induction cooktop in our kitchen. The room (really like an apartment) was spacious and immaculate. It felt like we were living like locals for the week. We were in close proximity to great restaurants, but we also had fun cooking dinner in our kitchen. Breakfast downstairs in the morning was delicious and had a good variety including vegan options. Kvosin is close to everything — it’s in the perfect location for tourists, with a beautiful view of the lake, and wonderful daily cleaning service. Parking nearby was easy. I cannot say enough good things about this place! We will definitely be staying again.

We loved the location of this hotel. Five minute walk to bus stop 1. Restaurants and shopping are close walking distance. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The room was great. Loved having a sofa to relax on besides the bed. Fell in love with the Soley bath and hair products. Even bought some for home. Breakfast is a cold buffet with plenty of nice options. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place right in downtown Reykjavík. Parking is a lot cheaper if you just park a few blocks away, which was easy enough. Close proximity to restaurants, and good breakfast.
