The Prince of Wales is immediately opposite the entrance to Osborne House, which was the purpose of our visit. Also very close to East Cowes ferry terminal. Very helpful and welcoming staff, and a good menu for dinner. Only negative was rather loud live music, but being Saturday night that wasn't too surprising, Overall very happy with this place, and would happily return.

In general the 'hotel' is well run but in reality it is just a pub with rooms. The outside space is littered with cigarette ends, especially around the door. The staff are friendly and there were three reasonably priced real ales on the bar. The only real let down was the breakfast service. The menu is very limited and there were no cold drinks. The service was slow and on my final morning, non-existent. I waited to be served for about 20 minutes but no staff appeared. I had to buy a sandwich on the ferry. The wi-fi was very good downstairs but very poor in my room.

The room was clean and comfortable. I didn't realise that the bathroom was not en-suit when I booked but it was for the room and not shared so it was fine for a short stay. The pub was closed for food and closed early so was not used for drinks, and it looks a bit shabby. The breakfast was good but not exceptional.

Literally across the street from the Osborne House. The rooms are named after the children of Queen Victoria, which was fun. Pub has good food both for the breakfast and other meals.

Very Poor and mis-described. Advertised a restaurant but no food at all available except breakfast. They have rooms with bath and I asked for one. No response to request and no bath! Pokey little room with no chair, too hot with window closed, much too noisy with window open. Will never stay again unless it changes hands. Very clean though and friendly staff. Dishonest descriptions of facilities is totally unacceptable.

The owners have clearly made a great effort to make sure this old building gives you a welcoming environment. The room was spacious and clean, the Wi-Fi excellent and secure and the room servicing great. The whole environment was well looked after. If you thought that was good? - I can’t speak highly enough of the staff; reception, bar, breakfast & dinner - all different people but all gave excellent service. I have no problem in returning next time we are on the Island.

The Price if Wakes is conveniently located on the main road (A3921) between East Cowes and Whippingham, Isle of Wight. The inn is directly across from the main entrance to Osborne House estates. There are comfortable rooms, some with ensuite facilities, and a pub/restaurant/breakfast room on the ground floor. We have stayed at The Prince Of Wales before, It is now under new management and they are making great improvements. The facilities are good and moving toward excellent.Very helpful staff,very good value, plenty of parking. We will be staying there again, as this is convenient for us whilst on the I.O.W

We chose this property for it's proximity to Osbourne House, (which is literally across the road) and a fabulous place to visit. The hotel is fairly standard for it's era, but very clean with a good breakfast and is good value for money.

Spent nine days here while visiting family on the island. The staff are amazing, all super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. Bus stop is right out the front door to get you to Newport or Ryde. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

Spent a couple of nights at the prince of Wales for a wedding , really can’t complain about anything . Staff are lovely , room was spotless , nice new fresh bedding , comfortable pillows and bed . Breakfast was delicious . Good value for money . The building is not the most attractive and certainly not luxurious but more than adequate in every way .

The room was adequate. The shower was extremely small, it proved difficult to shower without hitting your arms on something. The bed was a cast iron bedstead with creaky springs, and the mattress was very uncomfortable, I did not sleep well. The bin in the shower room had not been emptied from the previous occupant. This was my husband and I's honeymoon night and I booked for bed and breakfast, however, we were greeted at the breakfast table with a "payment required" notice. This then entailed calling the manager who said that my invoice showed I had paid for room only. I then had to spend time scrolling through my phone to find MY invoice from Expedia to prove that I HAD paid for bed and breakfast. We had asked for coffee, and although we had seen a coffee machine, the coffee served was instant, which neither of us like. The manager blamed the invoice error on "the app" but it put a real dampener on our stay and I would suggest you take a look at your "app". Overall, we were not that impressed, and not inclined to stay there again.

The site appeared to have been set up very well at some point but now not so good. The vast cigarette waste tray by the entrance was not so welcoming and the plug-in air freshener within the the socket hanging out of the wall didnt inspire confidence. The mdf in the bathhroom is blown in many areas. Cobwebs on the windows seemed to demonstrate a lack of attention when being cleaned. At breakfast, the sugar "bowl" was sat upon a plate and revealed a dirty brown ring when lifted off said plate. Otherwise, bed lovely, room was nice and breakfast was cooked well. Some works would make it a competitive site again.

There is no reception as such just wait at the bar..the girls were helpful. When I arrived one helped carry my bag up the stairs to my room, which was neat, tidy and clean. The breakfast waiter was also friendly. My negative was it was a bit noisy at night and it looks like it could do with some maintenance on the roof and the gutters, from my bedroom window. Having my bathroom separate to the room was a slight inconvenience but the location being right opposite the entrance to Osborne House was a plus. Also within walking distance to the shops and the ferry terminal. I could see from my window that maintenance needs to be done on the gutters.

Friendly staff, checked in at the bar and even though it was busy the bartender was so friendly and showed us straight to the room with no wait. Comfy and well decorated room. Breakfast was great (they can do vegan if you ask and had 0 fuss).

We booked a room and arrived at 9pm to find the hotel closed when check-in time end according to the website at 10pm. Hotel refused to refund us as it was a non refundable room but it is their mistake. Please be aware check in end at 9pm

The room was adequate. The shower was extremely small, it proved difficult to shower without hitting your arms on something. The bed was a cast iron bedstead with creaky springs, and the mattress was very uncomfortable, I did not sleep well. The bin in the shower room had not been emptied from the previous occupant. This was my husband and I's honeymoon night and I booked for bed and breakfast, however, we were greeted at the breakfast table with a "payment required" notice. This then entailed calling the manager who said that my invoice showed I had paid for room only. I then had to spend time scrolling through my phone to find MY invoice from Expedia to prove that I HAD paid for bed and breakfast. We had asked for coffee, and although we had seen a coffee machine, the coffee served was instant, which neither of us like. The manager blamed the invoice error on "the app" but it put a real dampener on our stay and I would suggest you take a look at your "app". Overall, we were not that impressed, and not inclined to stay there again.

It was a fairly clean and comfortable hotel. However there were some areas in need or renovation and cleaning, and the breakfast was mediocre. Service was not very good - the younger staff were pleasant and helpful but senior staff seemed stressed and uninterested. Excellent stay as always, lovely room in the king size bedroom, really clean and well presented. Our doggies were made to feel so welcome too! Very friendly staff and we enjoyed both our breakfasts and evening meal. We’ll definitely stay again on our next visit to the IOW, thank you!

Friendly staff, checked in at the bar and even though it was busy the bartender was so friendly and showed us straight to the room with no wait. Comfy and well decorated room. Breakfast was great (they can do vegan if you ask and had 0 fuss).

The owners have clearly made a great effort to make sure this old building gives you a welcoming environment. The room was spacious and clean, the Wi-Fi excellent and secure and the room servicing great. The whole environment was well looked after. If you thought that was good? - I can’t speak highly enough of the staff; reception, bar, breakfast & dinner - all different people but all gave excellent service. I have no problem in returning next time we are on the Island.

We enjoyed our stay at the Prince of Wales. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The bus stop was right outside the doors and very convenient. We look forward to visiting again!

This is a very authentic hotel/pub. A bit dated but we enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was good - full English :-) coffee tasty! And the best if you travel by bus from Ryde the bus stop is direct in front of the pub door! The hotel is as well very close to the Osborne House.

Little gem of a bar, restaurant and hotel. Very clean, lovely room very quaint, fabulous food and very friendly/helpful staff. Lovely beer garden and ideally situated for a visit to Osbourne house just literally over the road. Bus stop directly outside of the hotel so good for people without cars.

There is no reception as such just wait at the bar..the girls were helpful. When I arrived one helped carry my bag up the stairs to my room, which was neat, tidy and clean. The breakfast waiter was also friendly. My negative was it was a bit noisy at night and it looks like it could do with some maintenance on the roof and the gutters, from my bedroom window. Having my bathroom separate to the room was a slight inconvenience but the location being right opposite the entrance to Osborne House was a plus. Also within walking distance to the shops and the ferry terminal. I could see from my window that maintenance needs to be done on the gutters.

There are comfortable rooms, some with ensuite facilities, and a pub/restaurant/breakfast room on the ground floor. We have stayed at The Prince Of Wales before, It is now under new management and they are making great improvements. The facilities are good and moving toward excellent.Very helpful staff,very good value, plenty of parking. We will be staying there again, as this is convenient for us whilst on the I.O.W

In general the 'hotel' is well run but in reality it is just a pub with rooms. The outside space is littered with cigarette ends, especially around the door. The staff are friendly and there were three reasonably priced real ales on the bar. The only real let down was the breakfast service. The menu is very limited and there were no cold drinks. The service was slow and on my final morning, non-existent. I waited to be served for about 20 minutes but no staff appeared. I had to buy a sandwich on the ferry. The wi-fi was very good downstairs but very poor in my room.

Very Poor and mis-described. Advertised a restaurant but no food at all available except breakfast. They have rooms with bath and I asked for one. No response to request and no bath! Pokey little room with no chair, too hot with window closed, much too noisy with window open. Will never stay again unless it changes hands. Very clean though and friendly staff. Dishonest descriptions of facilities is totally unacceptable.
