Firstly they tried to charge me an extra £57 for my room. Until I pointed out that we had a receipt proving i had already paid in full. Secondly neither restaurant was open, so despite the website information, no evening meal was available. Thirdly there was no cooked breakfast, only continental. The room was OK, but strange rumbling and drilling noises from somewhere in the building kept me awake. Honestly it would be better if you closed totally for refurbishments, which i assume was going on from all the bits and bobs lying on the flat roof outside my room.

I was not expecting a luxury hotel, so I wasn't disappointed. The room was a very good size and the hotel was a little shabby, but appeared to be clean. It is dated and there are no frills, which wasn't a problem for me. All I wanted was a clean room, a comfortable bed and a working shower - all of which I got. The curtains were coming away from the rail and there was nowhere to hang the towel in the bathroom, but I can live with that. The heating is delivered via a fan on the wall, which was noisy and not particularly effective. What really let it down was that the walls are very thin and it was therefore extremely noisy. There was a little noise from the traffic and some of the other guests and the people next door didn't appear to go to sleep at all. I could hear them laughing and talking most of the night. Their TV was on all night and I could still hear it at 6:30am. Not really the hotel's fault, but they also made frequent trips to the fire escape for a smoke. An alarm went off briefly on two occasions, the last time around 10pm. All in all, I didn't get much sleep - which was what I was there for. I wouldn't stay there again, given the choice.

Parking didn't feel secure; mine was the only car there on arrival and the whole place felt like it was closed. Luckily there was a receptionist who was polite enough. Bar was closed for the duration. No TV remote in the room, but they did provide when asked. Had to borrow a (leaky) iron from front desk but no board provided

The hotel looks as if it was built in the 1970s/80s and the bathroom looked a little tired BUT the room was clean with a large bed with spotless bed linen and towels. Close to a main road - didn't bother me. I closed the window and slept well. Heating/air con worked well. The bar was closed - they looked like they were running the hotel with only 4 staff BUT the staff attention, cheerfulness and willingness to help was exemplary. Free parking - and plenty of it was much appreciated. Close to the National Agric. Centre. Very good value. Not the most luxe hotel in the world but because of its location, free parking and the sheer welcome of the staff I would happily stay there again.
