This hotel is billed as luxury & charges a luxury figure for its suites but it’s not worth it. The pool was really dirty with the ceiling falling down, discarded gum pouches/ lots of hair on the floor & changing rooms were disgusting. The room itself was nice & clean. Breakfast was good but not really any gluten free food -apart from some toast. We wouldn’t stay again. Disappointing 😢

This location could be really great but the property needs some serious money spending on it. Inside our room was pretty okay. The entrance door to the room was covered in paint chips and looked poor. Overall the fabric could do with a full deep clean (carpets curtains floors etc). Staff were generally fine. I did ask at reception whether I could buy snacks (crisps/nuts etc) in the bar and was told NO. Which is fine if not a little strange. It was more that the response suggested "of course not? why would we do that". I walked down to the local shop. The outside layout does not lend itself to relaxing cocktails on the terrace in the sun which is a shame because the grounds are potentially beautiful. If I compare to the Grove where we had dinner (this is not currently a fair comparison as the Grove would charge 3x for a room) but the welcome and can-do highly attentive service level is something which does not cost extra to provide? Breakfast we did not have so no comment. This property could really upscale with the right investment?

I was staying as I was working close by. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The rooms are pleasant yet rough around the edges, the bottom of the bathroom door has water damage due to the shower spraying out onto the floor. The shower was hanging off the wall but was fixed back into place with duct tape once mentioned to staff. This however didn't affect my stay which was good. The bar area is nice, plenty of space to chill out. The food was ok, my bloomer sandwich was just a big standard white bread but not much was expected when buying a sandwich from a hotel! I didn't visit the pool but the area looked nice and clean. All in all a nice stay at the hotel and I will definitely be staying again if I'm back working in the area
