Hotel was fab. Very clean and food was good. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Downside was parking on site was very limited. Would stay again if we were in that part of the world once more.

Oldy-worldy charm in a converted attic, complete with a copper tub (separate from the bathroom). The only (minor) downside is the narrow, steep staircase to two of the rooms which might be troublesome for some people. Excellent 5-star breakfast.

No Parking on site. No help with luggage up stairs,rooms accessible via door marked toilets at back of bar.Had to leave a £50 credit card deposit in case we had to use the bar,not exactly 5star!!! Room was dusty above eye level,no information booklets in room,no telephone to reception,shower did not drain well and flooded bathroom floor,loud music from bar past 11pm.If the Company regard this as five star. they are deluded beyond belief This is an average pub with a few rooms and a lack of facilities and is a bit tacky.

We stayed in tye tweed suite which has a hot tub in the back garden. The hot tub was not private and we had other parties looking out the window into our garden area. When we arrived at 4.45 we tried to book in for dinner and we told that we could have a table for dinner now, but apart from that they had nothing else for the evening. We had to book and drive 15 minutes to another restaurant. On our way out at 6.30 we popped into the pub for a pop and there was lots of tables not being used. Don’t understand how they couldn’t accomadate us. Car park is not outside the property. You need to walk 5 mins up the street and park in a car park which in my eyes was not safe at all. When having to walk to our car to got for food the road to the car park was pitch black. Not one street light on. The property inside was lovely, and the breakfast was Nice.

Stayed in building opposite the pub, the room was very small and in need of a little TLC. Food in the Joiners was very good, the parking is very limited with only four spaces, there is a free car park nearby. Only stayed for one night so not to much of an inconvenience...

The Accommodation was very good. Room was nice and spacious. Food was nice and a good quality breakfast. Shame about the parking, nice in summer with light nights but a bit dark in the winter.

The food and service at the Joiners was excellent. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was warm and very clean. The lack of parking was not good and having to park further up the road was a pain especially with suitcases to unload and not good for a woman on her own in the dark. We found our room very dark especially if trying to apply make up and dry my hair. More lighting was needed above mirrors. Also there were no drawers to put clothes in so we had to leave them in our suitcases and no surface in the bathroom for toiletries. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay but would choose another room next time.

Lovely place, staff nice and friendly. Evening meal not the greatest however restaurant was very busy so maybe it was my palette. Thanks to staff for fitting us in at last minute. Would def recommend staying at the Joiners. Lovely nearby coast and easy free parking at hotel. Thank you.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The place wasnt busy which was good. I loved the quirkyness of the place and it was nice and quite. We stayed in the aln room. The downsides was the bed was as hard as a brick and i didn't have a good nights sleep. The bath in the room was lovely and had plenty hot water. It was chipped in places though. The place was definitely rustic and had character but the cleanliness could have been better with the dust and cobwebs.

The staff were really friendly and helpful from checking in to leaving . The room was amazing and super clean with super comfy bed . Food was great also and restaurant bar area really nice . We would definitely come back again .

Have stayed here few times before and been great but this time although room senna. Cove was very clean and bed was super comfy feel that carpet needs to be changed quite afew stains . evening meal was awful did complain and got a discount it was really busy so think kitchen staff were under pressure but staff were lovely . To top it all off some people next to us got up at 6.15 and went downstairs not even trying to keep they’re voices down so overall not a good stay

Room tired and dark decor, no bathrobes or locally sourced treat as advertised! Noisy room above the bar. Nice location of hotel, with some lovely walks around it. Evening food very disappointing, steak small and chips covered in paprika they were barely edible! Liqueur coffee not possible as only synthetic squirty cream… not what I’d expect from a so called 5 star luxury hotel!!

Bedrooms very nice,however TVs need updating.you cannot park your car at the joiners arms it is a 3-400 yard walk to a car park.we arrived at 10 past 2 to check in and blankly told check in is at 3pm,even without asking our name to check if room was available.when we did check in simply directed to our room and told key in the door,which it was not. We had an evening meal in the bar area and it was simply that.nothing extraordinary,however must say the staff were excellent,very helpful,polite and hardworking but understaffed,they were ran off their feet.very well done to them. We checked out a day early on a two night booking….

Tremendous stay at the joiners arms. The rooms had deep pile carpet, bed and shower was incredible, my wife loved it, from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Lovely spacious rooms. Loved the roll top bath in the room but the water wasn’t too hot. We had been to a wedding so came home late to find the door to hotel locked & it took 5 phone calls to get entry.

The room was dark. There was 3 of us, 2 adults and an 11 year old yet only 2 glasses and 2 bottles of water. Only 2 cups. 2 English breakfast tea bags. We arrived at 2.50pm to check in to be told the rooms weren’t ready yet and to get a drink in the bar. We’d traveled for 5.5 hours so we’re happy to do this however we then seemed to be forgotten about as others checked in a matter of minutes after we’d enquired and we didn’t get a key until 3.35pm. We ate in the restaurant and expected more from we’d seen on Insta to what we got. The food was just ok. Breakfast was a let down with the buffet being left on the bar near the door . When we got to breakfast during the recommended time slot of 8.30am there was one slice of cheese and once slice of meat left… We wouldn’t be rushing back even though the location is great.

Lovely rooms with friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfasts as well.

The staff were really friendly and helpful from checking in to leaving . The room was amazing and super clean with super comfy bed . Food was great also and restaurant bar area really nice . We would definitely come back again .

We really enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent. Only hiccup was no hot water on the first night, which was rectified as quickly as they could. Only suggested improvement would be to add a lamp/light switch next to the bed - it was a bit odd not to have it.

The hotel clearly didn’t have enough staff, just two people running around covering the bar, restaurant and checking people in. We attempted to check in at the specified time of 3pm and told the rooms were still not ready, we were checked in and then had to wait a further 20mins before we actually checked in, the room was nice and very well decorated just a shame about the lack of staffing resource taking the edge off the service level which is a shame.

We attended a wedding and stayed in the cottage for just one night, was close to the venue clean and tidy slept six. We weren’t in it really just to sleep. The following morning had breakfast at the joiners arms which was beautiful l.

We stayed in tye tweed suite which has a hot tub in the back garden. The hot tub was not private and we had other parties looking out the window into our garden area. When we arrived at 4.45 we tried to book in for dinner and we told that we could have a table for dinner now, but apart from that they had nothing else for the evening. We had to book and drive 15 minutes to another restaurant. On our way out at 6.30 we popped into the pub for a pop and there was lots of tables not being used. Don’t understand how they couldn’t accomadate us. Car park is not outside the property. You need to walk 5 mins up the street and park in a car park which in my eyes was not safe at all. When having to walk to our car to got for food the road to the car park was pitch black. Not one street light on. The property inside was lovely, and the breakfast was Nice.

Really enjoyed our time here, the room was very nice and cosy, catering is really good with breakfast included and the staff are helpful. In winter it may be difficult tomget around if you dont drive though as public transport is extremely limited and there isnt too much in the area.

The food and service at the Joiners was excellent. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was warm and very clean. The lack of parking was not good and having to park further up the road was a pain especially with suitcases to unload and not good for a woman on her own in the dark. We found our room very dark especially if trying to apply make up and dry my hair. More lighting was needed above mirrors. Also there were no drawers to put clothes in so we had to leave them in our suitcases and no surface in the bathroom for toiletries. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay but would choose another room next time.

Check in went OK. The location is really nice, rural and peaceful but not as quiet as it seems. More traffic than you think but it’s still peaceful and a nice location. Staff a mix of friendly and some not so friendly or welcoming. We ate dinner in the bar - food was good and tasty, although very expensive. There was a lot of it - I would be quite happy with slightly less and it being cheaper. Breakfast was disappointed - no real direction. The cold breakfast was OK but not 5 star. We came down an hour before breakfast finished and there was not much there, it hadn’t been refreshed/restocked e.g. butter, bread, fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. A lot of people came down after us as well. The hot breakfast looked good and was well presented. Quirky interesting room, good standard, lovely and really nice. Beds comfortable and the shower is really good. Really good sculptured elephant towels on the bed - kudos to whoever did those :-) Only 2 sets of water, glasses, cups, hot drinks despite booking for 3 people. This seems to be a fault in most places we have been to. Not sure it’s five star - no tissues, cracked glass, really dirty/sticky cup, no biscuits. Would I recommend … Yes as even though I don’t feel it’s five star, it’s a nice place.

Stayed Sunday/Monday - excellent welcome and room. Had an evening meal and breakfast. The food choice is very good and the quality of the food served was excellent. The staff are really friendly and professional and could not do enough to help you. In terms of access to some of Northumberland's best coastline you cannot have a better location. Everything and more than we hoped for.

Room tired and dark decor, no bathrobes or locally sourced treat as advertised! Noisy room above the bar. Nice location of hotel, with some lovely walks around it. Evening food very disappointing, steak small and chips covered in paprika they were barely edible! Liqueur coffee not possible as only synthetic squirty cream… not what I’d expect from a so called 5 star luxury hotel!!

The room was dark. There was 3 of us, 2 adults and an 11 year old yet only 2 glasses and 2 bottles of water. Only 2 cups. 2 English breakfast tea bags. We arrived at 2.50pm to check in to be told the rooms weren’t ready yet and to get a drink in the bar. We’d traveled for 5.5 hours so we’re happy to do this however we then seemed to be forgotten about as others checked in a matter of minutes after we’d enquired and we didn’t get a key until 3.35pm. We ate in the restaurant and expected more from we’d seen on Insta to what we got. The food was just ok. Breakfast was a let down with the buffet being left on the bar near the door . When we got to breakfast during the recommended time slot of 8.30am there was one slice of cheese and once slice of meat left… We wouldn’t be rushing back even though the location is great.

We stayed 2 nights in The Rede Shepherds Hut in July. The Rede was beautiful, clean and well looked after. Although we didn’t use (not had time plus coolish weather) it had its own private hot tub tucked away outside behind fencing; which was daily checked and maintained (saw it being done one morning while we were sitting outside in our own private area). Only thing to mention was that The Rede did become cold/cool in the evening when outside temperature dropped. There was a wood burner with plenty of wood provided, but we felt silly lighting it during summer. However the bed was cosy! Thought we’d need to park in public car park (free for 72hrs) as space at The Joiners was taken, but when checking in shown that The Rede has its own private parking space hidden just in front of the hut. Staff were excellent and went out of their way to help. Food also very good (breakfast, evening meal plus some takeaway pizzas). Were seeing friends who lived in the area and they commented on the improvement to The Joiners since they last visited a few decades ago. They were also impressed by the food. Unhurried checkout (11am) was a bonus. Recommend!
