Very impressed with standard of cleanliness and decor. But narrow stairs and no lift. This would not put me off from going again but if you have difficulties with stairs its something to bear in mind, especially when carrying a suitcase. There were no car park spaces so we had to pay elsewhere.

Very good hotel, less than a minute's walk from the beach. Could not fault the hotel's welcome and their breakfast was always excellent. Two points to highlight: There are a number of stairs inside the hotel which some people may struggle with. Secondly, the hotel's car park is 'first come, first served' so once you get a bay I'd recommend you leave it there for the night. I had to go out with the car and returned late to the hotel which meant I lost my bay for that night - be aware!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. On the seafront, 5 mins walk to the centre of town. Certain rooms have both sea views and a north facing balcony big enough to sit out on. Rooms on the small side but cosy and comfortable with a good shower. Good wi-fi. Friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Small first-come-first-served-after-1pm car park for guests, otherwise nearby municipal car parks of varying hourly charges (see Parkopedia). Nice hotel bar with a resident pianist when we arrived (a Sunday afternoon) and the restaurant was serving oysters. Highly recommended, good VFM.

Check-in was fine, but the parking situation is horrid! The hotel is a beautiful old seafront hotel which has been nicely updated. The dinner in the dining room was delicious as was the breakfast buffet. My room was well appointed and had all the luxuries that one would want. They did not have a conversion plug for an American iPhone, but the lady in reception was kind enough to charge my phone for me whilst I ate. Another nice feature was my petite balcony.but sadly, all paled to the lack of parking.

A great hotel with lovely decor, somebody has a special design flair. Balcony room well worth the upgrade cost with the sea views. Only slight downside was parking uncertainty, but seems to apply generally in Whitstable.

Excellent stay. Check in easy & friendly and no waiting to be able to park or go to rooms. Location brilliant to seafront, harbour stalls and shops. Breakfast was delicious and good quality. Rooms nicely decorated and very clean. Waiting and bar staff friendly but needed more of them as busy bank holiday weekend. However, our rooms were cleaned daily and done within a short space of time. Recently had shoulder surgery and when receptionist realised, she came and carried my bag up to my room and wouldn’t let me do myself which was very thoughtful and considerate. Down sides: There is no lift and difficult for families with buggies to therefore get to their rooms. Other thing was coming back in evening first night as wasn’t sure if we could have drinks in the bar as all the sofa cushions were off the seats and staff member didn’t look or seem that happy to serve us at 10:45pm. However next night at around same time a different bar tender was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely overnight stay. Room was small, but sufficient for our needs. We had booked just a standard room so knew it was not going to be large. Good quality toiletries and coffee/teas as well as chocolate biscuits provided ! Everything very clean. Bar and restaurant tastefully decorated. Breakfast - good selection and good quality. Just about all of the staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly, apart from the chap on reception at midday when we arrived, who did not appear very welcoming at all. Perhaps he was having a bad day. Would definitely stay again.

The property is ideally situated close to the sea and is well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. Rooms were a good size with lovely views across the bay. Staff very helpful at all times. Stairs leading up to the rooms were a little difficult if you had mobility issues with carrying your luggage up but this was only a small negative. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel right on the beach slightly out of Whitstable main town. Nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast was nice, although lacked variety. Bedrooms are TINY. Literally too small for two people to stand in some cases. Most rooms are accessed by a very steep very narrow staircase which I struggle to carry my case up. We booked many months in advance for a weekday wedding in May and were given the rooms furthest from reception on the highest floor. Square footage-wise, not good value for money. It was however clean and public areas were nice. Staff were pleasant.

Fantastic view from balcony, so very special being able to watch the sunset. The hotel gives good value for money, with breakfast included and a short walk to the harbour market. It is quite an old hotel, so you can hear people moving around all night - if a light sleeper you will likely be disturbed. Bathroom could have done with a blind as the room got light at 5am which was a shame, otherwise a comfortable room.

Very good greating when i walked on. Directed to receptionist who was very helpful. Car park behind hotel and small but had a lot of cars in it. I think that the staff were having a bad day. Tables were left uncleared and the service was very average. Great location and I will stay again if I'm down that way and give the staff a second chance.

Excellent stay. Check in easy & friendly and no waiting to be able to park or go to rooms. Location brilliant to seafront, harbour stalls and shops. Breakfast was delicious and good quality. Rooms nicely decorated and very clean. Waiting and bar staff friendly but needed more of them as busy bank holiday weekend. However, our rooms were cleaned daily and done within a short space of time. Recently had shoulder surgery and when receptionist realised, she came and carried my bag up to my room and wouldn’t let me do myself which was very thoughtful and considerate. Down sides: There is no lift and difficult for families with buggies to therefore get to their rooms. Other thing was coming back in evening first night as wasn’t sure if we could have drinks in the bar as all the sofa cushions were off the seats and staff member didn’t look or seem that happy to serve us at 10:45pm. However next night at around same time a different bar tender was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Very good hotel, less than a minute's walk from the beach. Could not fault the hotel's welcome and their breakfast was always excellent. Two points to highlight: There are a number of stairs inside the hotel which some people may struggle with. Secondly, the hotel's car park is 'first come, first served' so once you get a bay I'd recommend you leave it there for the night. I had to go out with the car and returned late to the hotel which meant I lost my bay for that night - be aware!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. On the seafront, 5 mins walk to the centre of town. Certain rooms have both sea views and a north facing balcony big enough to sit out on. Rooms on the small side but cosy and comfortable with a good shower. Good wi-fi. Friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Small first-come-first-served-after-1pm car park for guests, otherwise nearby municipal car parks of varying hourly charges (see Parkopedia). Nice hotel bar with a resident pianist when we arrived (a Sunday afternoon) and the restaurant was serving oysters. Highly recommended, good VFM.

Check-in was fine, but the parking situation is horrid! The hotel is a beautiful old seafront hotel which has been nicely updated. The dinner in the dining room was delicious as was the breakfast buffet. My room was well appointed and had all the luxuries that one would want. They did not have a conversion plug for an American iPhone, but the lady in reception was kind enough to charge my phone for me whilst I ate. Another nice feature was my petite balcony.but sadly, all paled to the lack of parking.

Nice friendly place that seems to provide a lot of local employment. Staff seemed happy and were helpful. The room and bathroom were on the smaller side, but it's an old building, not much they can do about that. Big balcony and wonderful sea view. Breakfast was good mix with cereal, fruit and hot food. They even did some veggie sausages specifically for us. The evening food seemed expensive. But there are plenty of other places to choose.

The property is ideally situated close to the sea and is well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. Rooms were a good size with lovely views across the bay. Staff very helpful at all times. Stairs leading up to the rooms were a little difficult if you had mobility issues with carrying your luggage up but this was only a small negative. Would definitely stay again.

The room was perfectly formed and they’ve thought of everything. The terrace was dreamy and fabulous to have access to a free parking permit too! Check in was super easy and proximity to the high street etc is a real bonus!
