The staff was very good and helpful, but we faced a lot of difficulty with parking. The parking slots ( a bit far from the hotel) available at that time only allowed payment until 6:00 AM. I had to wake up at 6:00 AM just to try to extend the parking, but there was no option to do so, which forced me to go outside early in the morning to move my car somewhere else. This was very inconvenient and affected our stay. Other than the parking issue, everything else was fine.

Hotel staff were friendly and willing to assist with questions or requests. Front lobby smelt wonderful- some sort of fragrance. Extra security provided at night with locked doors after 7pm and a security guard. Parking options not great - pay $22/night or find street parking. Street parking has 2 hour time limit although you can park overnight but car must be moved off the street by 10 am. Peddle bikes available to rent at the hotel. Room was clean and housekeeping staff were very nice. Loved the long shelf along the wall to keep items off the floor. Beds were comfortable; bedding was nice. Shower was great with two shower heads and good water pressure. Bar fridge in room. Snacks and drinks in the room upon arrival but they were very expensive. Found the room somewhat noisy- could hear the tv in the room beside us and noise in the hallways. Although, there were a couple things I did not like, I would stay here again. I likely would not even try other hotels and just rebook here because overall, it was a good experience and the pros outweighed a couple of cons.

I spent half an hour driving around the hotel looking for a parking spot. I couldn’t even check in and drop my bags off then go park my car because I would have blocked the lane since they had used it as overflow parking. The place I found parking was sketch and only let me pay until 5:00 AM. Check n went smoothly. Got to my room turned on the tv and had a snack. As I was sitting there, I noticed a small stain on the sheet. Then I found the bed bug. I killed it and took it to the front desk. They had no other rooms to move me to. Expedia refunded my money and I found a different hotel for the night. The security guard walked me to the edge of the property as it was dark out on my request. Staff was nice. The bed bug? Nope.

Had a lovely stay at Mere Hotel. Staff was friendly and professional. Room was extremely clean and modern. Nice toiletries and shower. Location was the highlight; close to bars and restaurants, as well as walkable distance to Museum and Concert Hall.

The Mere hotel is probably the cleanest hotel I have had the pleasure of staying in in Canada. The price was super affordable for such a luxury hotel. The staff was professional, kind, and knowledgeable. The location is second to none. We were able to walk to most attractions and restaurants. The area is safe, quiet, and centrally located. The parking lot is tight but we have a small sedan so it was fine for us. The rooms were impeccable and I couldn't find a single spot of dust or dirt and trust me I have a keen eye for dust. The decor is modern and there is plenty of space in the room for us to organize our belongings. The personal care items that the hotel provided were very luxurious. We will be staying at this hotel and it will be our go to hotel in Winnipeg from here on out.

I checked in with my partner then went out for dinner. When we returned, we pulled back the covers and noticed something crawling in the bed.. come to find out it’s a bed bug. We immediately grabbed our belongings and left to the front desk, where we were greeted by awful customer service. The two at the desk were smiling and laughing during this situation and didn’t seem surprised to hear of bed bugs. They offered another room.. we obviously didn’t take it. We were told that when the “inspectors” come on Monday they’ll determine whether or not it was a bed bug and would warrant a full refund. My concern is that there’s no way to tell if the “inspector” will be truthful, or if there even is a real “inspector” Based on the manner in which the front desk handled the situation, I have no faith that they’ll admit it was a bed bug so they can withhold my money. All in all, poor experience and poor customer service. Definitely don’t stay here if you want good service and a bug free room!

Love this place, we have stayed there many times. Just wish they would upgrade their heating/cooling systems as we find the fans very loud. Just happy the widows will open a bit as the fresh air is always welcome.

It was a lovely hotel. The room was well decorated, the bed was super comfortable with great linens. The bathroom was clean with great toiletries. The only drawback was the wifi was terrible.

We enjoyed our stay. however, the washroom design was very odd. It had a large full length window to the rest of the room with nothing but a transparent curtain for privacy.

Beautiful hotel with beautiful amenities, but sounds like management decisions are poor. Unwillingness to update/fix things when required. The heating unit in our room was extremely loud and had a loud clicking sound that went off every 20 seconds (regardless if the heater was on or not). Couldn’t turn the fan to be constantly on so it would turn on and off constantly which is very load and disruptive. Also no options of different pillows (they are all thick/puffy). Had late checkout and housekeeping came walking into our room earlier than check out time. When we checked out, we addressed these couple things to the front desk person and they responded that it was their last day working there because they quit. Reason being the consistent complaint regarding the heating/a/c units being so disruptive during the night and management isn’t willing to do anything to fix this problem to make a better customer experience. Very unfortunate, because it is a very nice and clean hotel, great location; but the disruption during sleeping makes the stay unenjoyable.

Some odd design choices at this hotel that change the calibre of your stay. 1) The bathroom is an open window to the rest of the room. There is a “privacy screen” but that only works during the day - at night, being backlit by the bathroom lighting, you can see all the business going on in there. 2) The exterior multi coloured light feature around the exterior glows through the colour spectrum - including at night where the blackout drapes don’t shut fully. Bedroom is like a disco. Not great for sleeping. 3) Just a generally odd design aesthetic like the window length bench with one small plastic sitting pillow, psychedelic wallpaper, very uncomfortable square pillows on the bed (also obviously old pillows based on their lumpiness), and furniture that probably seemed cool a few years ago but is out of date now. Cleanliness and good service make up for some of this. On the whole on “ok” stay.

Where do I begin? We have stayed here previously several times but this time was problematic. I arrived exhausted, in town for a funeral the next day, and there was no parking. I had to get up early the next morning (with major jetlag) to try and find parking. The only parking available the previous night was blocks away and I did not feel safe at that time of night as a female alone. Then the keys didn't work for 2 days because 'the system was down' and I had to be escorted to my room. I felt sorry for the staff who did their very best. People should be warned about the parking situation so they can stay at a hotel that has enough parking for its guests. Also, they charge for parking and that's ridiculous. Probably will never return.

Very nice location, with well kept property and attentive staff in the housekeeping area. It would be a bit more welcoming if the front office staff smiled and engaged more actively with guests. This is not to suggest they were not pleasant - they simply never smiled.

Hotel staff were friendly and willing to assist with questions or requests. Front lobby smelt wonderful- some sort of fragrance. Extra security provided at night with locked doors after 7pm and a security guard. Parking options not great - pay $22/night or find street parking. Street parking has 2 hour time limit although you can park overnight but car must be moved off the street by 10 am. Peddle bikes available to rent at the hotel. Room was clean and housekeeping staff were very nice. Loved the long shelf along the wall to keep items off the floor. Beds were comfortable; bedding was nice. Shower was great with two shower heads and good water pressure. Bar fridge in room. Snacks and drinks in the room upon arrival but they were very expensive. Found the room somewhat noisy- could hear the tv in the room beside us and noise in the hallways. Although, there were a couple things I did not like, I would stay here again. I likely would not even try other hotels and just rebook here because overall, it was a good experience and the pros outweighed a couple of cons.

Clean comfortable hotel with wonderful restaurant by the river. Hotel would benefit greatly from a bigger parking lot as parking is very minimal for size of hotel. If you park on the busy street it’s not the safest at night if you have to walk a few blocks which is disappointing for such a nice hotel.

Had a lovely stay at Mere Hotel. Staff was friendly and professional. Room was extremely clean and modern. Nice toiletries and shower. Location was the highlight; close to bars and restaurants, as well as walkable distance to Museum and Concert Hall.

While the hotel itself is in a beautiful area it of the homeless and a higher criminal element. This is not the hotel’s fault, it is a social problem that the city needs to provide more social services.

Room is great and has 3 pods for espresso. It won’t take much effort to have perked coffee available in the lobby. Instead, you will see guests all walking down the street to the coffee restaurant. Almost every hotel I’ve stayed at has fresh coffee available in the lobby but not this one. It won’t take much effort for management to provide this service especially since Ciabo restaurant next door is no longer open at breakfast.

Excellent customer service and the room was beautiful and clean with a breathtaking view of the river. Had a wonderful dinner at CIBO as wel. The only thing that I was not crazy about was that I had to pay $22 for parking in the hotel parking lot BUT the hotel was exceptionally inexpensive for the quality of the room. Will come back again (I only live 45 min away from the city😊)

Generally this hotel is centrally located and close to amenities, however, they need to be more efficient at checkin as this lengthy and uncomfortable process has been repeated on several occasions. Trouble with point of sales machines and poor communication seems to not get resolved. Yikes!
