Lovely clean dog friendly room. Would benefit from some details on the resort ie dog walks or local attractions. The hotel is remote, we had planned to get there by the ferry but this was not running and had to drive, not the best roads as not a single track fan. We would stay again

The location is the winner - people definitely visit to stay in a truly incredible part of the country. This is our second trip in less than a year, and unfortunately Portavadie is looking very tired indeed. I was quite shocked at the lack of cleanliness in common areas (corridor outside our room was gritty with random bits of dirt, and the leisure centre’s changing rooms were grimy and thick with cobwebs!) Customer service felt really indifferent and quite bare-minimum. I truly think our expectations are low in this regard, we’re very self sufficient and don’t expect any special treatment! However, there was just something quite ‘off’ and I think staff in the restaurant and leisure centre could massively benefit from proper customer service training. This is an incredible destination and coming here should feel really special. Unfortunately I think there’s some fundamental details that need some care and attention from management.

Cottages are lovely, restaraunt was very nice,we had breakfast and that was very good(although i never got my egg!). Not too sure about the swimming pool area, mrs thought it wasnt clean, the water very cold. We went off peak,so wasnt too busy, weather terrible as well(not the hotels fault for that). Went on ferry to Tarbert, was very disappointed, theres nothing to see and do,lots of places closed.
