Hotel was lovely with good rooms helpful staff. However the rooftop pool area was very small.

Staff is exceptional, hotel is showing it's age with fixtures, room layout, and even door knobs looking like they're very well used. The pool was our main reason for our short stay here and while the pool is plenty large seating is limited and the water was unusually cold. Out of our two days we didn't want to use it a second time. I recommend Liberty riverside instead or if you have it like "that" The Hilton are both a superior experience.

Ideally located hotel in District 1. A 2 minute walk to the Cafe Apartments and Bitexco Skydeck. Staff were very friendly. The sauna and outdoor pool that overlook the city was a welcome facility (particularly for the night time lights). Would definitely recommend.

Super central beliggenhed i District 1. Butikker og restauranter lige uden for døren og gåafstand til det meste. Rent og pænt hotel. Virkelig blødt sengetøj, men så stopper begejstringen også. Generelt lidt slidt. Vi havde booket en Charner suite på 46 m2, men ankom til et mørkt værelse med udsigt til en mur på nabobygningen og scooterparkering. Efter 2 nætter blev vi flyttet op på 6 sal, hvor der var mere lys, men stadig en pudsig indretning (denne værelsestype har elevatoren som nabo - bogstavelig talt kun adskilt af en væg og indhakket på værelset ved seng/sofa ER selve elevatoren). Vi havde læst anmeldelser om dårlig wifi og at der skulle være meget lydt. Det er helt rigtigt - virkelig lydt fra både naboer og gaden (vi har før boet i District 1 lige ud til en stor vej uden at være generet, så vi var overraskede). Og sats ikke på wifi, så bliver du i hvert fald ikke skuffet. Morgenmaden er ok (lidt kedelig). Der var kø til at få bord, så vær obs på at der ikke nødvendigvis er plads til alle gæster, hvis fuldt booket hotel. Afternoon tea er et fint supplement, men virkelig mange mennesker i restauranten på 10 sal. Pool, sauna, dampbad... Ser som altid større ud på billederne. Vi brugte det ikke, men til gengæld er fitness med virkelig god udsigt over byen fra løbebånd. Der er spa på hotellet og en god pris på mani/pedi. Blandet oplevelse med personalet... Generelt er det dejligt, når mennesker ser glade ud for det, de laver og viser det til kunderne.

I had a short 5 day stay, staff super friendly and helpful. Pool was great, spa services very good and gym compact but satisfactory. Would definately stay again.

This was a great hotel, very good location for us. Staff were amazingly welcoming and always went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices, with the inevitable egg station. There was always cool drinks available free of charge in the dining room,regardless of when you arrived back at the hotel. Swimming pool on the roof was a good size. There were only six loungers but also seats so it worked well. Afternoon tea was a lovely thought

WiFi a bit intermittent at times. Excellent housekeeping staff. Breakfast was adequate, but lacking a lot of variety. Only minor complaint there was no shower option in my junior suite (only a jacuzzi bathtub). There was a shower wand in the bathtub, but using it as a shower alternative just sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. Excellent bar with a wide variety of menu items. The rooftop pool was small but has an excellent view of the city, highly recommended.

Decor was lovely. Spotlessly clean. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast and nice afternoon tea. Glad we booked the junior suite to have the extra room, and a shower as well as a bath. Was good to be able to have a swim in the pool, even though the sitting area was small and usually full.

Stayed here 3 times now and usually amazing …the pool was not open which is why i use the hotel. No communication beforehand which i believe should be standard. Gave us a bottle of wine which we basically had to argue for yet this was the 2nd stay in 3 weeks …there were a lot of other customers not happy about the pool and the lack of apology or even a discount

Had a really lovely stay. The room was spotless, the staff were always friendly and quick to help, and the whole place just felt really calm and welcoming. The little extras like the pool and afternoon tea were a nice touch as well. Would happily stay again.

Hotel is centrally located and genrally comfortable but has a serious mold problem in both my original room and the "upgrade." The original room had a jacuzzi in the center of the room and the shower was out on the balcony which was both nice and weird. No one told me about the shower so i had to use the jacuzzi to wash my self the first morning.

Clean, spacious room. Hamelin room had jacuzzi bath & separate shower. Room minibar prices very reasonable. Staff are very friendly. Nice rooftop pool & afternoon tea

Property need to sanitize their bathrooms better

The rooms need a renovation. Smelly and the bathroom looks a little used. Air conditioning is noisy. Whirlpool bathtub in the room was not working.

Great hotel, nice pool and lots of breakfast options. Unfortunately it was very loud due to night club across the street blasting music till all hours - no fault of the hotel but very noisy street making it difficult to sleep. That’s big cities I guess! Staff were very friendly and accommodating - allowed us to use all hotel facilities until the evening we flew out which was much appreciated. Check out is at 12 which is great.

Book the cheaper executive rooms. We stayed in these two nights and they were much better than the Bonard Junior Suites which we booked for one night and which cost us more. The suits have a bath tub next to the bed. If you want a shower, it is on the outside balcony overlooking the streets of Hoi Chi Minh city. Rooms were very clean. When we first checked in one of our two rooms smelt of stale water but they quickly moved us. Breakfast was good although service always started just after the 6.30am official start time, they were always busy still setting up then. The staff were awesome and the hotel is in a great location. Good hotel but given the choice available in Ho Chi Minh I reckon we would stay somewhere else next time. Definitely avoid the junior suites. Inferior room and will cost you more

Loved this hotel, beautiful room with large balcony, great a/c, lovely rooftop pool, great bfast. Only negative is paper thin walls.- could hear next doors tv going late at night. Otherwise perfect.

The location is great within walking distance to everything. Staff are very friendly and helpful, only downside was the walls are very thin and we could hear the TV for the room next door like it was our TV at 2am in the morning. I actually thought it was our TV.

The hotel is sweet. Decor is white washed French provincial furniture. The strange bit is they have most of their showers on the balcony- shower curtain and all. It is not an outside shower to use after pool use. It is the main shower. I booked the Bonard Junior Suite and although photos indicated bath was in the living room, photos also indicated a shower in the bathroom and one on balcony. There was only a shower on the balcony. As I felt uncomfortable showering on the balcony, I asked for a room change, which they did straight away, giving me a choice of rooms. Service was amazing. This shower issue might not bother other people- location of hotel means there’s not much of a view on the balcony- overlooking old, run down buildings on the other side of the road (above the shops) and there are pull down screens, curtain meaning the shower is private, but it just came to me as a bit of a shock. Apart from that, it was a really clean, cute hotel. Beds comfortable. Pool and bar area great. Breakfast was good. Staff really amazing. Location perfect. Walking distance to everything. Great shops and restaurants on the street. When I refer to the view, it’s a quaint, narrow street, so your not seeing the shops, just the run down buildings above. However, this means the street is quiet. Perfect location in the middle of everything without the noise. Photos are of new room. Toilet very cool. Literally all the swings, bells and whistles!! I’m from NZ, so not the usual.

Excellent location within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The room was quiet even with the noise from the street. The AC worked well even on a hot and humid day. The buffet breakfast was excellent with choices Vietnamese and western foods. Highlight was the made to order eggs and pho. However we had some problems with the design of the shower as water ran outside the tub onto the bathroom floor and the side of the tub. Hopefully this can be remedied with better caulking and sealants.

The room was bright and clean but smaller than expected, I think the room sizes stated probably included the area of the outside balcony.

I do not understand how this hotel has a 9.0 rating. The hotel does not look as good as the pictures. On arrival 3am yes it was late, I arrived to see the receptionist sleeping on the sofa! This continue every night of my stay which I found really unprofessional. The room is very wooden looking not a cosy feel like you would expect from a hotel. The staff never say hello to you or very rarely do they even acknowledge you. I was really surprised as I had high hopes for this hotel from the look and review. Room service also finished at 8.45pm which is far too early if you want to enjoy room service. This really affected my thoughts of Ho Chi Minh as I loved Hanoi. Honestly find another hotel as you won’t have a good experience here. Finally if you’re looking forward to the ‘Afternoon tea’ don’t bother I kid you not I went 2-3 times, it’s a few plates on a table in the middle of the room with a few small muffins/ cakes and most of the plates are always empty even if you go early. I felt embarrassed for the hotel. Massive let down in every way possible. AVOID

What a hidden gem! Beautiful hotel in a great location - opposite Bitexo Tower, 2 minute walk from main street, surrounded by good restaurants. Breakfast & afternoon tea were varied, tasty & freshly cooked. The stand out of this hotel though has to be the staff & management, they were faultless. They picked up from my partners passport that it was his birthday & presented him with a birthday cake at breakfast. They hand delivered a white rose to our room for me. They always had a smile & a hello for us. Absolute gems!

Incredible stay at Au Lac Charner hotel. What really stood out was the staff- I forgot my airpods in my hotel room after checking out and was leaving Saigon to go to Phu Quoc and then Hanoi. They contacted me upon finding my airpods and offered to mail them to my hotel in Hanoi. They arrived 2 days later! I am extremely grateful to the staff. I highly recommend this hotel!

Starting with arriving at the hotel we started to run into problems, first the room we booked online was not accessible, so we got downgraded, to a smaller room but it had balcony oppose to the original one, however there was a price difference, since the most expensive room was booked by us originally, hotel made us sign a paper that we voluntarily downgrading at the high price. Once we got to the room next surprise, room was dirty, but we were so tired we just went to sleep. Next morning we have left the room the cleaning staff was watching us leave, came back in late afternoon the room was still filthy, we saw the cleaning staff in the hallway and asked for clean towels, the lady said she will be right back maybe, waited a bit, no show we figured maybe she mis understood us. An hour later my girlfriend decided to take shower and was laying in bed after. the cleaning lady came back knocked the door as I opened she walked in as if it was her place and wanted to clean the room, took us a while to ask for her to leave as my girlfriend was laying naked in bed during this conversation. Day 3 same thing left in the AM, same cleaner watched us leave, came back around 530 pm, room was filthy. Since it was our last day in Sigon and we were tired after full day of work, we said screw it, we just never again going to use this hotel, as we both fall asleep there is a sound of someone trying to force open the door luckily the latch on door was on. Few minutes same thing happening,

The service was outstanding and the staff were very friendly. They went above and beyond in making you feel welcome and comfortable.

The manager Kent, was very helpful with everything. He was amazing! Very well located for tourists.

This hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. The hotel is excellent but the staff makes the difference. They were. BRILLIANT. It is also walking distance from many of the attractions. Fabulous. We will be back next year

We had a fantastic stay. The staff were very hospitable and made our stay very relaxing. They organised tours, transfers, beauty salon and more. Great amenities including pool and spa. Enjoyed breakfast and afternoon tea with our stay. Room was comfortable and clean with great housekeeping services including laundry

Sjarmerende mindre hotell med flott beliggenhet. Vi bodde her i tre netter i forbindelse med en lengre reise. Ligger veldig sentralt med gåavstand til det meste. Vær oppmerksom på at beliggenheten også gir deg støy på kveldene i fra hovedgaten hvor det arrangeres forskjellige show hver dag.

This well sized boutique hotel in Saigon District 1 is perfectly and centrally located for local and tourist Vietnamese life. Only 30 or so minutes from SGN airport. Traffic here is crazy, but once you get used to the technique of crossing a road etc, you’ll see that the majority of riders and drivers are both safe, slow and skilful! This hotel is surrounded by local and western bars and restaurants, a 15 minute walk to the main, crazy and live music walking street at Bui Vien and a 10 minute walk to the impressive post office and opera house. The hotel lobby was amazing. Chic, well presented and smelt amazing. Staff on hand to assist with bags up the lobby stairs, and check in staff so friendly and helpful. Up to the Bonard Junior Suite on the 4th floor, ample size and plenty of storage. Really quite nice. The rainfall shower is located on the balcony, masked by green foliage, secluded and invigorating, the bath inside the room, large and well presented. Afternoon tea on the indoor rooftop lounge was included in our room rate, we visited once on our last full day, 1430-1630 opening times, with a fantastic selection of cakes, sandwiches, coffee, tea etc. all kept restocked and a really good choice. A really nice addition for hotel guests. The bar also serves here all day and evening, I was disappointed that the bar did not sell any diet/light soda drinks at all, making coffee or water the only choice for diabetics. A really lovely hotel for Saigon and Ho Chi Minh.

Au Lac Charner Hotel is a small boutique property a few minutes away from central Saigon. It is a very neat and friendly hotel where your wish becomes the command of the friendly staff. The rooms, while smallish, are well furnished and comfortable. The most endearing quality of this hotel is the pleasantness of the staff, especially Kent at the front desk and Lewis in the restaurants.

The location is excellent walking distance to centre of the. city, the staff could not do enough. They were always extremely gracious and very helpful, smiling at all times. I would definitely come back to this hotel when I next visit HCMC

Albergo ben posizionato, praticamente sotto la torre Bixteco. Vicino all'Opera di Saigon e con parecchi ristoranti nelle vicinanze. Struttura elegante e ben tenuta. Stanze pulite e silenziose.

We stayed at Au Lac Charner for 3 nights in October 2024 and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is right in the heart of District 1 and is walking distance from all the main attractions. The staff at reception were also exceptionally welcoming. Free breakfast was a plus and the pool was decently-sized and a perfect visit for Vietnam’s hot and humid weather. I would highly recommend Au Lac Charner Hotel to all my family and friends.

Nice hotel situated in a great location. Hotel us looking a little tired and could go with some updating in some areas. Rooms general clean, however one of our pillows smelt of tobacco. Breakfast and afternoon tea both nice but limited.

Was really looking forward to our stay at this property but were left disappointed. Started off fantastic with attentive staff at the door and warm welcome through check in. Unfortunately the free afternoon tea was extremely disappointing. Food choices were limited, dry and stale. Breakfast was no different. Very Asian focused buffet options which I understand we are in Asia but hotel caters mainly to foreigners. Stayed four nights and only used the Afternoon Tea once and breakfast once as preferred to pay for better food options elsewhere. Pool was overly crowded and did not look like a relaxing place to hang out. Room was ok however very dark (ensured we had booked a room with a window). Housekeeping did not service our room until after 4pm by which time we were back relaxing in our room so was inconvenient. Amazing location, close to everything you need.
