Booked due to so many ‘exceptional’ reviews…. its less than. Check in experience varies by who you get.. Room was good- shower great but not exceptional… This hotel does not have a pool… please dont book thinking there is! 84cms deep and you can reach either side ish if standing in the middle. 8 sun loungers… to a hotel this big? We looked as many did for another part.. and because our check in lacked depth.. like the pool..we couldnt see where you got the towels from. Very noisy air con and to our surprise we were charged for water in the room.. seemed a little much given the price of the stay… The hotel is in a good location and our room did have a balcony which was pleasant. **dont book a hotel with a pool.. use the Artxanda pool central location - cheap, stay all day, has a sun deck etc only 7:80e soooo good!

we chose this hotel because we wanted to swim in their heated pool and use the sauna and steam room. It has a little 'spa' where you can get a good massage. very convenient location. the room were a bit small...

Bilbao ist ein großartiges Erlebnis. Das Catalonia liegt ideal zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch der Airport-Bus hält in der Nähe (nur 3 Euro one way). Nur das Angebot "Spa/Wellness" im Untergeschoss und die "Piscina" außen im 8. Stock sind eher ein Witz! Spa: klein, nur je eine Dampf- und Saunakabine. Man muss Slot buchen und Massage war keine verfügbar. Das Schwimmbecken auf dem Dach ist ungefähr 3 Meter lang und 2.50 breit. "Schwimmen" also eher "nada" ...

Comfy room and beds with quiet air con. Nice shower room. The rooftop pool was disappointing. It is very small. The terrace is nice but can get busy as only 10 sun beds. The parking cost 25 euros a night, which was by far the most expense on our trip. No idea where hotels.com got the idea it was free as stated in the listing.

A large group of people obstructing the little lobby ,entrance of the door and later outside the door . Customers come in and go out with our baggage, so blocking important spaces may finished in accidents. In fact ,I told one of the people at the desk to talk to them , didn't want to take any action. Four people at list were at the Front desk nobody took action anytime. Rooms are clean in general but some of the cleaners are just drying not cleaning . Other employees where extremely helpful and correct ,with very good skills .

It was my second stay with this hotel. This time, the coffee machine was out of order ( they said they will fix it next day )and the scale was also not working which was not fixed even in next day. Floor towel was missing when checked in in the first day. Ali, the staff who was always very helpful, sent to the room swiftly.

Beautiful hotel with easy walking access to the highlights of Bilbao. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had!! Everything fresh, including fresh squeezed orange juice. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is our room smelled like cigarette smoke.

Great room. Comfortable beds. Wonderful shower. Just noisy, from the AC making dripping noises, the drains in the bathroom making glugging noises & noisy from the hallway, a massive gab under the door meant when next door came & went it woke me.

The room was a comfortable size with a good sized bathroom with walk in shower. Conveniently located on Gran Via with many restaurants close by and a grocery store within walking distance. A bus stop a block away on Gran Via that can take you to the train station or old town. The front staff was generally fine except for one guy. A bit aggressive & not exactly personable. A girl greeted us & was going to help - he cut in & took over. His communication was a bit abrupt & a bit condescending.

Room would not cool off. I slept with the door open the last night. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The balcony was very tiny. The pool was more of a hot tub. There were 4 people.in it and it was full. The area was very centralized with lots of restaurants and shopping near by.

Very nice front desk staff and nice room with a shower and bathroom better than some of the 5star hotels I’ve stayed in. But the staff at dinner when we ate at the hotel restaurant ignored us and were extremely slow. I understand that dinner service moves at a slow pace in Spain and that’s normal but waiting an hour to get food and never getting our beverages is not ok. It was a slow night and they simply forgot about us.

A nice modern hotel. Nothing remarkable about it. Slight frustration was that we were upgraded because of my Expedia points, but to a room with two single beds. For a married couple that was irritating and had we been staying for more than one night we would have complained. Equally, a request for water was refused as 'room service was shut' which I thought was pretty ridiculous too.

This is my fifth time staying at the Catalonia Gran Via and again I was delighted with the service we received. Check in was quick and efficient and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Location is ideal for all amenities and also close to San Mames football stadium. Staff as always were extremely attentive and accommodating. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone considering a visit to Bilbao.

Excellent hôtel. Très bien situé, à 20 mn à pieds de Casco Viejo. Hôtel très calme, très bien insonorisé. De l'accueil, au restaurant,ainsi que le service d'étage, et pour finir le petit déjeuner, tout le personnel est souriant, professionnel et très avenant. La chambre est très confortable, la salle de bain est top.

Flott og nyoppusset hotell med svømmebasseng på taket. Sentralt plassert i hovedgata Gran Via i den nye delen av sentrum. Vi hadde rom mot bakgården, men jeg tror også rommene mot gata er bra støyisolert.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were very happy with the facilities. Staff are very friendly and helpful and it is close to the Guggenheim museum and a nice park. There are a variety of cafe’s and bars close by and it is a straight walk to the old town which takes about 20 mins. The hotel has a rooftop pool and a very comfortable bar lounge. Would definitely use again.

Strak hotel, mooie kamers en vriendelijk personeel. Enige minpuntje vond ik het ontbijt. Die had ik beter verwacht. Zowel qua aanbod als qua kwaliteit. Zo was er maar 1 soort brood, moest ik in de lobby vragen of er iemand in de keuken stond, was er niet iedere dag verse juice, etc.

Desayuno delicioso. La mejor tortilla española que probamos. El zumo de naranja recién exprimido, muy variado. Súper bien ubicado con restaurantes y cerca del Museo Guggenheim. El cuarto triple amplio Con 2 televisores. No tenía amenidades, ni kleenex. El estacionamiento muy reducido y complicado para una camioneta.
