Trenython Manor Resort

Having driven 3 hours wanted to Charge our car, charger not working no real interest from manager asked us to try asda... Finally Charged at Carlyon bay hotel, (multiple chargers) & great service & food!

We had a lovely stay at Trenython Manor. The Hotel and grounds were great for our family stay. We were emailed prior to our stay and advised to book in a time slot for swimming, as all swimming and gym sessions must be pre-booked. The hotel is grand and traditional. All staff we came across were friendly and helpful. We had a family room in the hotel, which was spacious and clean. Our kids loved the bunk beds, and it was a lovely touch being left sweets and a colouring book. Our bed was huge and really comfy. As the hotel is in an old building, the sound proofing wasn’t great, so if your a light sleeper ear plugs might be needed. Also there was no bedside plug sockets, to charge phones etc. we used the pool which was clean, and had a sauna, steam and jacuzzi too. Breakfast was lovely, with a wide variety of food choices. The hotel grounds are fab for children, with a football net, play area, woodland walk and tortoises. We just wished we stayed for longer!

I liked the swimming pool. It was very busy though from 8-9. Almost couldn't swim up and down. Maybe open at 7 - 8. Our room didn't have two chairs although there were 2 of us. Only one at the dressing table so had to sit on bed. In the bar the tv was loud on Eastenders. Very off putting if you want to go in there for a drink. I can understand putting it on for events such as the tennis, golf or football but for not for normal tv. People have tvs in their rooms if they want to watch tv.

We enjoyed our stay, the grounds are beautiful and rooms very comfortable. The staff were a bit disinterested and lacked costumer service attention. We made use of the pool which was nice but having to book to use it was unusual.

They shut the main bar because they had a function on which took over the bar and terrace. Room wasnt good either.

The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Everyone was so welcoming to us and my dog. The room was spacious and warm. The bar was funny, playing Coronation Street on the big TV on Friday night was an unexpected vibe! The pool, sauna and steam room were lovely and warm, clean and inviting. However the changing rooms could do with an update! And no coffee machine working for morning coffees or espresso martinis was gutting! The grounds were lovely with a little woodland walk to take the pup around, and lots of nearby beautiful coastal walks. Being able to see the sea at breakfast was lovely.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel, whilst our friends stayed in a lodge as they had taken their dog. Both were excellent. The hotel grounds are well kept and beautiful. All staff were friendly and helpful. We used the spa/ pool area. Lovely hot jacuzzi. We would definitely recommend a stay.

I appreciated the EV charger access too. I've rated it 4* rather than 5 as while the room and hotel was clean, the decor looked tired. Plus the absence of a lift, and all the stairs to the second floor was a challenge with luggage.

Booked a room with garden view, but it wasn’t - it faced a wall, less than two feet from the window. Room so small that there was only one side table, so no table light. Don’t stay in room 213 unless you are solo occupier. You had to book a slot to use the swimming pool, which was disappointing - and even then there were 9 others using it. Would t stay here again.

Staff and restaurant/food were really good. Check in staff not so much. Spa and Pool excellent to help you unwind and relax. Popular with families. Would definitely recommend it.

AVOID!! While we were initially pleased with the warm welcome from the night porter, several aspects of our visit were unfortunately unsatisfactory. The temperature in our room was excessively hot, making it unbearable and preventing a restful night's sleep, despite the small desk fan. When we reported this to reception the following morning, we were told that nothing could be done. A primary reason for choosing your hotel and travelling from London to Cornwall was the "spa retreat." We were therefore very disappointed to discover that this was limited to a one-hour slot for pool use. This restriction was not made clear during the booking process and was particularly frustrating given the pool was empty during our allocated time. Consequently, we incurred additional expense to use spa facilities at the Harbour. We also encountered issues with cleanliness and what appeared to be cost-saving measures that impacted our comfort. The dust in our room aggravated allergies. Furthermore, for a room costing £160 per night, providing only two small 330ml bottles of Kirkland water and dirty glasses felt inadequate. Similarly, the miniature toiletries were insufficient for two people, particularly for someone who showers twice daily. The spa's policy of not providing towels on arrival, requiring us to use our room towels for both the pool and subsequent showers, was inconvenient and felt like another cost-cutting measure.

Superb venue for my partners Christmas works party. Lovely spacious clean room which looked like it had just been refurbished. Staff were very friendly and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. A hidden gem of a venue and we will be back!

Check in was awful. Couldn't find my booking. I had to help. Given key and not shown to room.. got to room up four flights after I told the hotel my husband had a lung condition. Room was dirty and stained carpet and room was cold. I complained and had to pay £20 to move!! Main resturant was closed ! What a dissapointment

Can’t fault this hotel or staff. Absolutely excellent! They went above and beyond to look after us. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic and everywhere was impeccably clean. Lovely touch with the welcome pack in the lodge. Many thanks for finding us a room in the main hotel to stay an extra night. Beautiful grounds and views of the ocean. We will definitely return.

Spotlessly clean throughout, beautiful surroundings, polite team but all a bit clunky and disjointed.

Lodge was fantastic. Lots of space. Clean. Everything we needed.

Booked a garden view room but got fire escape view. Room was small with a number of faults (blocked shower drain, split shower hose, faulty light, no WiFi. The staff were lovely except the owner when I raised the issues, no apology, no effort to rectify. Breakfast started at 8, later than most hotels. Limited room service menu. Dining menu pretentious and expensive.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Food was delicious, service was friendly and attentive! My only issues were that it needed to be more clear about booking a slot to use the pool/spa and that the heating was on constantly in every room which is obviously great but way too hot at night and not very economical.

Lovely grounds, well maintained, peaceful, clean. The steepness of the grounds can be difficult to get around for those with mobility issues. Use of swimming pool and jacuzzi. Super impressed by the swimsuit water squeezer. The lodge was lovely, spacious and was pleased with the privacy ours had, as not all had the same level. We paid for the sea view lodge, this really didn’t offer much or as that indicated when booking.

I have never stayed in a hotel where breakfast and dinner have to be paid for at the time of eating. The trouble with the hotel is it is system focused, but should be customer focused. We will not be using Trenython Manor again.

Upgraded to lodge, which was superb. Didn't get any info on checking in, so wasn't aware lodge was only serviced once a week. Raised issue with reception and they provided info sheet which we should have received on check in. Not very good for class of hotel, would expect all rooms including lodges to be serviced every day. Excellent breakfast. Booked Sunday lunch, only to be told when sat down that they'd run out of roast beef !! This was at 2pm and restaurant was only half full. Very poor. Restaurant manager was very condescending, saying it wasn't his fault that everyone had ordered beef. It's Sunday lunch in UK, almost everyone has roast beef, so no excuse.

Great location, if you are visiting Eden Project, rooms spacious, clean and airy, staff helpful and friendly. I needed taxi numbers and staff sent over details of local companies. Hotel grounds were amazing, sadly I wasn’t able to stay and utilise all facilities but hope to do so on a return visit

Overall, we had a fantastic stay. However, some of the staff need to smile a little more and offer a more friendly customer service. We stayed in one of the lodges, which had a fabulous view down to the sea. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. The swimming pool facilities were very nice and very clean. We would certainly return and stay again, if in the area.

We stayed in one of the self contained cottages , it was absolutely ideal for our weekend tuna fishing trip from Fowey for four people with only a short drive to the harbour and a competive price would certainly stay and use again.

Food, cleanliness and service were excellent. Really felt well looked after. The facilities were great too. My only small grumble was the 10am check out. Being a Sunday this felt a bit rushed.

Lovely building - very friendly and welcoming team. The staff were lovely - not too formal, just a lovely relaxed place to stay. Nice pool and spa great bar and outside terrace seating area. Great breakfast too. Great value. We’ll be back.
