We had a great stay at the Reykjavík edition. Excellent room, restaurant, spa and gym. Just be aware that at the weekend it’s quite noisy until midnight or 1am if you are on the sixth floor due to the rooftop bar with speakers outside. Plus the compulsory daily resort/destination fee you pay only gets you credit to use in the main restaurant for lunch and dinner and not the bar, spa, coffee shop or for breakfast.

Really enjoyed staying here while traveling in Iceland. Great home base to explore the sights during the day, with valet parking and walkable food and drink options at night. We enjoyed the rooftop bar for an après-adventure cocktail as well. Would recommend!

We really enjoyed our time at the Edition - the room was clean and comfortable. The roof bar is not to be missed. The front desk staff was kind and helpful and the cafe had a delicious chicken caprese my boyfriend loved. My favorite were the valet staff, we rented a car and each time we needed to access it or got back they were so speedy and friendly. The location was ideal to experience the food and beverage scene and I cannot recommend going to the see the waterfalls and geyser towards the middle of the country.

Everything was great but the gym was under renovation and unavailable. We would not have stayed if we knew. The gym looked awesome and was part of the reason we booked there. That was a bummer, they should have let people know.

The Edition is a modern establishment very conveniently located in the heart of Reykjavík. The rooms are modern and spacious and immaculately clean. Lighting is sometimes limited which is certainly not a problem in summer but during the long winter nights it can become an irritant. The soundproofing is adequate although the door lets in some noise. The bathrooms are especially spacious and well designed. The service is generally very good but it can vary a little depending on the person. The service upon arrival was exceptional and attentive and we quickly got our room prepared despite our early arrival. The valet service was sometimes less attentive but at peak times they seemed overwhelmed. Unfortunately the quality of the food is much less impressive than the hotel itself. At breakfast the pastries were dry and the muesli was so questionable that I preferred not to risk it. The à la carte service is very slow which can be an irritant. Service is more efficient during the evening service but the quality doesn’t really improve. The New Year's tasting menu was disappointing and some dishes like the goose flambé were downright indigestible. Not everything is negative, far from it, but, ultimately, the general quality does not justify the exorbitant cost of a stay at Edition. The hotel does not offer the services and perks one would expect at such a price such as personalized butler service or turndown service

The staff was amazing. Everyone from the front desk receptionist, the bartender, the room service attendant and Oscar, who helped us with our luggage for check-in and check-out were great. The hotel was clean and our room was very comfortable.

The Edition was really nice, clean and was in a great location. We had a rental that averaged $28 a day. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The pillows were slightly flat but that is my only complaint about the room. They did give you 4 of them per bed thank god. The Tides Restaurant at dinner was just ok. We only ate there one night. The breakfast at Tides however was wonderful and the host was very friendly. Everyone there was very nice.

El hotel está bien ubicado, el bar y el restaurante son agradables. Las habitaciones son algo pequeñas y la electricidad y los switches no es a lo que uno está acostumbrado pues tiene un switch principal que no permite prender ni una luz si está apagado y para que funcione uno tiene que apagar una por una las luces del cuarto. El cuarto es algo obscuro

Truly one of the best hotels in Reykjavík both in terms of quality and location. Perfect for winter and very cozy. Restaurant is good. Rooms are also very comfy but not huge. So many things to see and do nearby.

Legitimately one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at. Appreciated the welcome drink and restaurant credit. Beautiful view from our room, very comfortable bed, and an excellent bathroom. I wish they had a couple more rooftop nights open and would love to see the club space be open in the future.

The location is on the new harbour within easy walking distance of the centre (although frankly there are better hotels closer to the centre that represent better value), the rooms themselves are fine, and the breakfast buffet is very good. Unfortunately this is where the positives end, and it is hard to offer constructive criticism. This is supposedly a 5 star hotel. We booked one night, at a cost of approximately £680. As such this is certainly not a cheap or mid range hotel. I do not mind spending money on holidays, but anticipate and expect to receive a product or service commensurate with the price paid. The hotel has a rooftop bar with views of the harbour. Whilst the views are worth seeing the bar is open to non residents and was exceptionally packed. The problem is that when we went to bed at 11pm we could not sleep due to the high level of noise from the bar easily heard from our room two floors below. We could tell the bar closed at 1am, but then throughout the night at intervals were woken by loud noises in the corridor. On checking in there was a surprising wait of approx 30 minutes. We did ask for a late checkout, but were told we could not have a late checkout as the hotel is busy. That of course is a valid reason, but what we found unacceptable was the tone and manner of the reception staff - brusque bordering on rude. We had a drink at the ground floor bar, and then ordered another round. We had to cancel that order after 20 minutes.

They seem to be understaffed. The staff they do have are excellent there are just not enough of them to deliver on the details that should set apart a 4 star property. It's a Marriott, not a Fairmont, but it charges Fairmont prices, which pretty much sums up my experience.

Great hotel overall. They are clearly understaffed. Many of the staff looked panicked trying to keep up with everything and several things fell through the cracks. It's a beautiful property with a wonderful breakfast, but the service isn't what I would expect from a five-star hotel.

Amazing experience for my birthday, the staff are super accommodating and couldn’t be nicer! Lovely hotel, spa is super nice too! Highly recommend Tides restaurant, the food is so delicious, with unique flavours. The staff at Tides had exceptional service!!

The location is on the new harbour within easy walking distance of the centre (although frankly there are better hotels closer to the centre that represent better value), the rooms themselves are fine, and the breakfast buffet is very good. Unfortunately this is where the positives end, and it is hard to offer constructive criticism. This is supposedly a 5 star hotel. We booked one night, at a cost of approximately £680. As such this is certainly not a cheap or mid range hotel. I do not mind spending money on holidays, but anticipate and expect to receive a product or service commensurate with the price paid. The hotel has a rooftop bar with views of the harbour. Whilst the views are worth seeing the bar is open to non residents and was exceptionally packed. The problem is that when we went to bed at 11pm we could not sleep due to the high level of noise from the bar easily heard from our room two floors below. We could tell the bar closed at 1am, but then throughout the night at intervals were woken by loud noises in the corridor. On checking in there was a surprising wait of approx 30 minutes. We did ask for a late checkout, but were told we could not have a late checkout as the hotel is busy. That of course is a valid reason, but what we found unacceptable was the tone and manner of the reception staff - brusque bordering on rude. We had a drink at the ground floor bar, and then ordered another round. We had to cancel that order after 20 minutes.

The Edition is a modern establishment very conveniently located in the heart of Reykjavík. The rooms are modern and spacious and immaculately clean. Lighting is sometimes limited which is certainly not a problem in summer but during the long winter nights it can become an irritant. Close to everything including shopping and the main street with all the stores and restaurants. I cannot think of anything that I disliked. The staff makes it easy to stay there. I forgot the name of the portugese lady with tatoos, was very helpful. There is a roof top restaurant seving drinks, there is a high end restaurants tides which is very good, Beakfast was good, requested a veggie omelet, done very well all the time.

We spent one night in Rekyavik, The Edition was in a perfect spot. Walking distance to the town, had all the modern amenities you could ask for. The lobby bar was a nice place to hang out for a bit before heading out for the evening. Breakfast was not included and was very expensive. Overall a pleasant experience.

This is a real gem of a hotel. The service is exceptional throughout from the spa, bars and restaurants. Nothing is ever problem and the staff are genuine. They go above and beyond to help. The food at the tides restaurant is definitely worthy of its Michelin recommendation. I would definitely recommend the al a carte selection for breakfast - the langoustine bennidict was beyond amazing.

The pillows were slightly flat but that is my only complaint about the room. They did give you 4 of them per bed thank god. The Tides Restaurant at dinner was just ok. We only ate there one night. The breakfast at Tides however was wonderful and the host was very friendly. Everyone there was very nice.

hotel is very nice, although a bit expensive. But it is located in walking distance to some of the best restaurants, bars and shopping in town. Very nice view of the water also. The room has crumbs on the floor, given it was only 1 night for us, we didn’t make a big deal out of it. We arrived after a long day driving and decided to eat at the restaurant - Tides. The service was SOOOOO slow, 2 hours later we almost fell asleep at the table and believe me, we only had appetizer and main course, not deserts. This hotel is for the hipsters and those who want to be seen, have a very modern vibe but fell short in many ways especially around customer service - it was just OK. I think we got the best service from the bell hop. Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel.
