All the extra amenities outside the backside of hotel were a nice surprise. Fire pits with seating, sand volleyball court, bbqs and picnic tables, horseshoes, bean bag toss. Lots to do and two trails going down to beach.

A nice place to stay with a great view. Comfortable bed. Nice pool, jacuzzi and dry sauna. Breakfast was decent with omelets, sausage, biscuits & gravy etc. Staff is excellent.

Would have been nice to have air conditioning at least in the bed room. Pool was ok, hot tub hours are not reasonable. People love morning hot tub time but it’s only open from 2-8pm. Nice place to bring your dog. Walk to beach it great, maybe 8 min walk. Ice maker was broke in our room and the ice makers on 2 floors were broke also! This property is a lot of separate condo owners so prices are all over. Paid WAY too much for what we received!

The provided breakfast was a nice addition, even though it was a sold out weekend the staff was friendy and kept the food coming out as fast as they could. The pool area has been well maintained over the years. The dry sauna was fantastic with a small 4 person adult only hot tub and 7 foot deep pool, staff keeps a close eye on the area so it was always a lleaant experience. Our condo had nice upgrades and we found the beds comfortable. The couch and chair both become beds and our adult children home from college were able to sleep comfortably. The resort itself is rught at dunes and has plenty of amazing outdoor activities or just a quick 2 minute drive to cute downtown area of Long Beach.

A great place for group or family activities. Pool, Free bikes, beach volleyball, outdoor seating, grills. Close to beach and food. Even a pickle ball court and free pickle ball racket rental. The only complaint is that the wall/floor has very poor insulation. Couldn’t sleep well because of the loud footsteps upstairs. Otherwise, it is the perfect relaxing resort.

One of the main reasons I decided to stay there was because of the pool in the hot tub and the heater was broken in the pool so I wasn't able to use it. My two grandkids did anyway and the window blind in the kitchen living room area would not close so we didn't have complete privacy and I had two kids sleeping in there, one on a hide, a bed and one on a Murphy bed.

Nice family and dog friendly condos right on the beach. Great breakfast included. Nice indoor pool. Charcoal and propane barbecues and fire pits available right out your door if you stay at a floor unit. Our unit was nicely remodeled. 5 minutes to shopping, arcade, go carts and restaurants.

Serving breakfast in mornings makes it easier ,having a lounge area for sitting outside with firepit and a volly ball place kids can play . Has a pool and hot tub makes it for a relaxing eveing especially with kids.

Room was spacious and views excellent, but the property is in need of updating and repairs. Moldy bathroom, outdoor fire pits totally rusted out and just left in a pile, outdoor furniture torn, and just generally dingy. Breakfast was the bare minimum basic motel breakfast The room was clean enough, but the overall sense is that they don’t take pride in this property, and just rely on the views.

This property needs updating, walkway had a large bump that was easily a tripping issues with no notice it was there, ice machine by room not functioning, cob webs all around it hanging from ceiling, elevator dirty and smelled old, as did the rooms, smelled like wet sour carpet, smoke alarms going off constantly throughout the hotel, around 930 10pm it kept going off for extended periods of time, in the middle of the night it went off twice waking us from sleep. When I spoke with hotel desk they said " yes its a big problem we are trying to get fixed Sorry" Screen door was broken, box fan that was suppled for room was very dirty. Went to breakfast at 845am and No Food had to ask kitchen help if they were making more breakfast, coffee was empty, they were obviously not very organized and very grumpy. Took a bit to get prepared food out to the warmers, food was subpar. Overall would we stay again NO

The ocean clearly visible from our suite. The suite was big, with an extra bedroom with its own bathroom. Also, a full kitchen with a full size refrigrator was included. The pool area was alright and I enjoyed both the pool and the hot tub, but the cleanliness left something to be desired. The free breakfast was sufficient with all the basics, but had to wait over half an hour for the omelet once, and over 10 minutes another time.

This is an older hotel with a view of the beach. Mostly our complaint would be that there was a sign outside of the bathroom stating that the door had to stay closed during and after showering or the steam would set off the alarms throughout the hotel. Other than that, the rooms were not as quiet as we would like. The staff was friendly and as we were leaving, the manager told us that they are building a restaurant there along with the Pickleball court.

There was no air conditioning, room was hot and stuffy, even with the slider door to the balcony open. There was a floor fan, but it didn’t seem to help. And the coffee in the rom was terrible. But the bed was comfy and there was a nice selection of bed pillows. Too bad it was too hot to sleep in there.

The room i stayed in was very outdated. The bed was soooo uncomfortable and im not picky. I could hear every foot step from the room above me as well as the neighbors conversations. I chose the Chautauqua because i have stayed here for over 35 years. Its a far walk to the beach and town. The pool was recently refinished and looked great! They do offer a really nice complimentary breakfast. I paid $180 for a Monday night.

No wait to check in, but the guy working the front desk was not friendly at all. How hard is it to be pleasant and smile? We mentioned that we read online that most rooms have been updated and even read reviews about this. We asked if we could possibly be put in one of the updated rooms. Employee lied to us, saying “the kinks” were still being worked out with the new rooms. During our stay I literally walked past “upgraded rooms” that had been checked out of and were being cleaned by housekeeping! Our room was terribly dated and the carpet was nasty. Bathroom floor looked like it was not cleaned before our arrival and I cannot believe they only provide 1-ply tp. Seriously?! Definitely not worth the price we paid of almost $200/night. There were holes and stains on the wall and we received zero maid service while there. Had to go to front desk for more towels etc. The continental breakfast is a nice little bonus, nothing fancy but plenty of choices and enough to fill you up for the morning. Staff did a good job of keeping breakfast items stocked. The older gentleman working front desk when we checked out was friendly. This place is in a prime location, otherwise lots of improvements still needed.

The staff was nice and the hot tub was clean. Room wasn't ready until after 5:15. Carpets are stained. Slider stuck and hard to move. Room was muggy and smelled mildewy. Smoking areas too close to walkway and doors. Smell kept coming into the room. Great location to the beach.

If I could give 10 stars for staff and service I would! The people really make this place an amazing place. Top that with the views of the ocean and upgrades that are being made on the grounds makes this place feel like hidden gem!! I’ll be back soon!

We had a great stay this past weekend! I messed up and booked the wrong room. The staff was amazing about getting us into the room I originally thought I booked. The rooms are beautiful and I love that there are so many extra amenities! We’ll definitely be back!

We arrived to parking lot closed for repaving with no prior notice. We checked in which was fine but went to our room and they had painted the railing with only had caution tape at the bottom of the stairs. My daughter’s shirt got paint all over it. The screen door was off in the room so tried to call front desk from phone and put on hold so walked down to the desk. They came and put it on but not so that we could open and use it. The standing fan was filled with dust. The pool area was ok. The breakfast was good but overall disappointed. I don’t think I will stay there again.

Very easy walk to beach, nice pool, lots of available activities and fire pits were the best parts. Breakfast was fine, but they ran out of everything one morning before we arrived. The hair dryer and screen door were both broken in our room, and the smoke detectors kept going off from other guests’ showers, so definitely could use a little TLC, but we had a great visit and would return.

The hotel was the only one on the beach ,from what I saw. You still have to walk to the sand. You need to have a 3rd floor room for the best view of the ocean . Room was fine ,balcony was nice . The hotel lets you borrow bikes to ride the paved trail ,which runs a long way just off the shore line . I liked the included breakfast . The place is not new but it's a good 8 out of 10 .

We needed a clean, convenient place to stay one night. Loved having a view room with elevator access—perfect for Mom who can’t climb stairs. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of amenities—volleyball, corn hole, outdoor lounge, places to wash fish or beach gear. Easy access to Discovery Trail and beach. We could have walked to Long Beach for dinner but chose to drive.

Location is awesome, easy walk to the beach and access to discovery trail, we even utilized the resorts bicycles for a nice ride. Property is in need of updating & repair. Breakfast was limited, if you have food allergies you may consider eating out or bringing foid. On the other hand, coffee was very good, from a local roasting co.

We loved our stay at Chautauqua! We had a balcony facing the ocean. It was so nice to sit and listen to the waves. We took advantage of the Free bikes and rode along the gorgeous discovery trail right behind the hotel. We saw so many deer! The staff were very nice, breakfast was great, and even though it is an older building- you can tell they are/have updated a lot of it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We wished we were here for longer than overnight then we would have taken advantage of their volleyball net, beautiful outdoor seating area, and horse shoe pit.
