Had a very relaxing time. My children loved the pool

Comfortable room, outdoor pool which was great. Good breakfast light on fruit, but seating area was jammed. Fitness room not so good- elliptical didn’t fully work, room not adequately cooled and no fans or thermostat. No remote control for tv to switch from weather channel.

The experience was disappointing. The pool was unavailable due to maintenance. The keys to the room didn't work properly. Had to get 5 sets of keys before one worked for a five day stay. Had a reservation with a pet. Weren't checked in properly so were made to change rooms on our 2nd day. The room was tiny for 2 people and a king bed. The toilets were kid size. Coffee was cold. The grounds on the backside of the hotel were unkept. On the brightside, breakfast was good. It was economically priced and location was good.

Amount of parking wasn’t very good. Having to walk each time through entire hotel because of card readers on the doors not working. Update those door readers. One day room was not cleaned when sign was on door to clear for at least 4 hours while we were gone. Supply better body soap. Bar soap is horrible. Saturday night guests were extremely loud throughout hotel. There should be a time when quiet hour finally happens. 3 am people roaming halls and doors slamming and talking loudly. Something should be enforced for a quiet time.

Fitness room reader does not work. Damaged bathroom door. Dog poop on the hallway, may not be the hotels issue. No room service in-spite of asking.

Stayed here a few times and had issues each time. My first stay there were plumbing/ drainage issues. This time around housekeeping failed to come clean both Wednesday and Thursday. I stayed for 5 days and made sure I called downstairs to make sure we were on the list both days yet they still refused to come clean our room. The gym had so many stolen free weights, none that matched so it was hard to get a good workout in. Overall this hotel could be better if their staff actually wanted to work. I also had very loud neighbors in my first room during my second stay… the phones wasn’t working in the room so I had to go downstairs to complain and request a new room away from the loud neighbors. It was a little push back at first but eventually I did get moved to a more quiet room. My key cards kept being deactivated all week which was a huge inconvenience because not only did I have to walk completely around the entire hotel to get to the elevator from the third floor, I couldn’t get in the building unless I came all the way around to the front door and I was also having to push my son’s wheelchair back and forth to the front desk for every single issue.

No carts to take luggage to room, no effort by staff to help find one. My husband is 81 & had to carry our bags in 2 trips up to the 3rd floor and down three corridors that ran the whole length of the property. Employees were courteous, but did not go out of their way to help us when help was needed, such as with our bags. And the few times we had to call the front desk for something, the calls went unanswered. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, shower was good. Quiet. Breakfast was good and included several hot choices. Location was convenient.

Great accommodations for the price. Clean and smelled good!. The staff was very attentive. The only downer was the pool wasn’t in service on a perfectly 85 degree day, but maintenance was actively working on it the entire time. Breakfast in the morning was good also. Will be booking agin and recommending to others.

Did not remove trash from our room or make beds. When I asked I was informed that I had to specifically request it. Also although the pool signs state it opens at 10 am - they were not ready at that time. The room next door had a plumbing problem that was left unfixed and the plumbing fixture in the flush most likely made a loud sound all night long. The owner of the hotel also owns a Brazilian steakhouse restaurant next door and each night the parking spots were full. There are only three handicapped slots and folks without the placard were parked in one of them. The hotel should add a few more handicapped slots to the parking lot and near the entrance.

Bless this properties heart... the place looks like it was once about to be condemned but someone came in, bought it, and has been trying to put some bandaids on it. Floors I could swear are uneven, my ceiling was peeling, the wall by my window was sweating, the AC was making a terrible noise, the bathroom had beautiful granite shower walls and vanity top, but there was a crack in one of the tiles and other 'opening' from which I believe tiny ants starting coming through the second night. And the halls were quite stinky. I was also not very happy the ice machine didn't work - was actually non existent (at least on the 3rd floor). However, all that said, the bed was really comfortable! The eggs for breakfast were the best I've had at a hotel buffet, the variety was good; the bacon unfortunately was basically raw fat though, icky, but they had coffee, tea, and water available all day in the lobby which was nice. The water pressure is great. There was also a really pretty young black lady with long hair on the desk usually at night that was very personable and professional. I enjoyed talking with her. the elevator was also really cool. The only other bad thing was that when I asked to have my Best Western Rewards number put in for points I was told by the young man there that I wouldn't get any because I booked through a third party... ??? I didn't think that just because you booked from a third party you didn't get points... I think that's the thing I was most unhappy with.

DO NOT GO HERE. This place is infected with cockroaches. You will experience cockroaches in your bed when you wake up, crawling on you in your sleep. I went here to have some rest from exhausting work, and found a cockroach on the desk. I called the front desk and they said pest control is not available at 11PM, rooms are fully booked, and they do not have authority to give me a refund or any compensation. I tried to cope with the cockroach which I haven't found, and went to sleep at 1:30AM without getting into the sheets, which I could not trust anymore at that moment and didn't even turn off the lights. At 4:00AM, I felt something weird and woke up to see the cockroach on my bed. I immediately packed everything up and escaped from that room and went to the lobby only to hear that they don't have authority again. The manager, Gabe spoke to me on phone after 2 phone calls and I am still waiting for him to send me an e-mail about the compensation the hotel will give me. This was totally unacceptable, and i do not understand that it is taking this long for them to give a response for such a terrible experience. I need at least a full refund on this.

I’ve never stayed anywhere (hotel or home) where I got bed bug bites. Went to the doctor after my trip and it was confirmed. My brother stayed in a room a few doors down and he also got bug bites as well. STAY AWAY - Carpets in lobby and hallways were filthy, elevator smelled horrible. There are many other options near by for comparable prices - avoid this one! You’ve been warned.

Microwave in room did not work properly. The refrigerator also did not work properly and the door wouldn’t remain shut. The beds were like sleeping on uneven rocks. The bathroom was dirty.

The room was a bit beat up. The exhaust fan was unbelievably loud and needs to be replaced. I stayed for two nights and the room did not get housekeeping after the first night. My towels were from the previous day and the bed was unmade. Garbage was still in the receptacles so I knew that my room did not get the normal attention. I called the front desk and I was told that I could get room service if I wanted. I then had to explain that housekeeping missed my room that morning, not room service. After my explanation I was met with a hang-up and no call back. I thought that was odd but was so tired from the day I just went to bed. I followed a cockroach as far as I could in the bathroom and lost it under the sink so I didn't get the chance to dispatch it. They say if there is one there are many. That is something that you really need to know. The breakfast was nice and it was convenient. The bed was comfortable and the temp was stable. The check-in was unusually lengthy. Not really sure what was going on with the person but no harm-no-foul....I eventually got to my room.

The hallways smell like stale cigarettes and pot. There were a few ants hanging out in the bathroom. The bottom of the bathroom door looked like it had been sawed off by a toddler. Breakfast was decent. I won’t say that I’ll never stay there again. You get what you pay for.

This hotel is severely outdated, The rooms and carpet new to be refreshed. My bare feet on the carpet felt like walking on grease. Staff was fine and pleasant. Receptionist needs to slow speech and articulate her words so you can understand her. Noisy neighbors with children under age of 6 running around until after 11:00.

Bathroom looked outdated. One of the towels had stain on it. Close to the highway, you can hear road noise at night. Overall is ok.

In need of major cleaning and updating.

Pillows in the room were old and uncomfortable, hallway smelled like urine and old mop water, hotel in general seemed outdated.

My stay at this hotel was overall very pleasant. The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff were both friendly and attentive, which made me feel very welcome. There was a microwave in the room, though it was unfortunately damaged. The view from the window was a bit underwhelming as it overlooked the road and cars, but this did not take away from the comfort of the stay. What stood out most was the warm hospitality and the well-kept accommodations, and I would be happy to stay here again in the future.

The room window was broken, have a hole. And I live in 1 st floor, which I can’t sleep when something the car past the road. It made me very tired.

Room was very loud, from pipes. Sounded like soneobe was taking a shower for over 1 hr. Water running then sudden stop with loud noise. The frond desk personnel was kind and moved me to a room with toilet leak, running all night, coupled with loud snorer somewhere near me. At that point, it was 1 am, i dudnt want to change rooms again

I love the beds, they're so comfortable. The fridge wasn't ever cold & internet was spotty, making the star rating lower.

I would like to say it was a wonderful stay...nice room on the first floor! My toilet handle broke and they replaced it asap, the curtains for the shower were barely holding up as they had so many holes, the ceiling had water damage and the house keeper half clean the rooms! Upon arrival we found cigarette boxes and wrapping paper on the shelves where the coats go... With a few fixes and better cleaning this place would be very nice.

Water pressure for shower was pretty low.

The property itself is pretty dated on the outside but the room was OK for the overnight stay I needed but overall dated and didn’t include basic amenities. The tile on the floor was cracked and the paint was peeling so just a good upgrade would do the trick. The door to the room did make me feel unsafe as a solo traveler as it didn’t really shut fully and had a gap. Overall the hotel is what you pay for and good for a night or two but not much more

The hotel is small but clean. The breakfast didn't meet my expectations. I know what they offer is an American breakfast, but the eggs were so artificial they were pale and tasted horrible. I asked for a room with two beds, and it was extremely small. The location isn't bad, but it needs some adjustments.

Don't stay in room #110 if you want any rest because you hear EVERYTHING. It's right next to the lobby so its noisy and people have no consideration for others, even at 10:30 at night when your trying to sleep. It was awful, to the point where I had to call the front desk and complain. The room and hotel was fine for an overnight stay and the staff was friendly, and bent over backwards to accommodate my needs. I also told them that the AC unit needed looked at because it was extremely loud every time it kicked on. To the point where it kept me up. I got only 5 hours of sleep. They did write up a work order for maintenance as I was telling them about this issue.

Price was good. Problem: Walls really thin so neighbors sound like they’re in the room with you, lock’s deadbolt didn’t work, refrigerator was broken, didn’t have room I booked available at checkin so they gave me handicapped room.

The night clerk was great.

Staff was on phone for 20minutes before even looking at us for check in. They made a mistake on the check in and only charge the security deposit. They came at 11pm to knock on my door to get payment. No apologize from them, the two people working that night accused me to try not to pay while I was completely unaware of it.

I made a mistake booking the online reservation. I was a little upset but the guy at the front desk was patient as I worked through the problem and rebooked the hotel room. I Thank the front desk for being Calm and Patient as I worked through the situation.

The staff was accommodating and welcoming as soon as we came in. If we needed anything, just a call to the front desk or any employees walking by would be of service. And Ms Patricia and the the white slim young lady, and the young black slim guy I would definitely give them 10's. Don't get me wrong everyone was super accommodating, but these 3 were my best. Disappointed. Nobody answered the front desk phone or checked messages between 6 am and 10 am, and then I was told no late check oit, too late to ask, no exceptions. Very inconvenient as I had work to get done and was counting on that time. I booked from a 3rd party which didn’t show my reward status and she didn’t ask either. It was just a firm NO. When I checked out another lady who was extremely nice asked about my stay and I said I was disappointed for the reason stated above. Not only did she try to accommodate with setting me up in the lobby, It turns out due to my reward status they should have permitted late check out but the First Lady never asked if I was a reward member. Whatever. I needed to work for my job and literally begged the lady on the phone for late check out. She clearly didn’t care as she didn’t bother to even check if I was eligible, which I was. Even if I am not eligible why be mean? Why not try to accommodate someone who has work commitments like the lady at check out tried to help? Aside from that the hotel was fine. The price was great — about 1/3rd of the next hotel I had booked, so I saved money but sacrificed the quality of service.

Booked the standard room for my family trip and the room is quite spacious to store and open my multiple luggage cases. Nothing fancy, but the hotel is clean and comfortable. The thing to mention would be the positive vibes from all the reception staff. From check-in, request for additional toiletries to check-out, everybody was very helpful had a big smile.

We basically had a very nice stay. We appreciated the coffee out in the morning and the breakfast options. We did not realize we had to ask for room service. Also we arrived 2 hours before check in and had to pay an additional $20 to get into the room early, even though it was totally ready. We found that quite off-putting.

The staff was phenomenal. I give this a high rating because of the staff. This hotel is old and it shows. We had to get new cards 3 times because it kept locking us out of our room and I saw others doing the same. The first room we were put in smelled and they moved us. I saw them talking and putting an air freshener in another room that smelled. That said, the staff is great, the area is safe, shopping nearby but not set up for walking. This is our second time staying at this location. If we go back to this area, the only thing that will cause us to go here is staff and the pool.

My experience at the Best Western Downers Grove location is always phenomenal! They have great service, clean and comfortable rooms, and hot breakfast every morning. The location is also convenient and close to many restaurants. I highly recommend!

The room was clean and the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. We were very close to Naperville and 30 minutes from downtown Chicago but add on for traffic which is crazy during certain times. I was a little nervous being outside at night but kept an eye on my surroundings. There were a couple people staying there that gave me some creepy vibes. But I would stay again. The pool was outside and seemed well maintained and my teenage son enjoyed swimming for awhile. Breakfast was super yummy. All the employees I encountered were friendly and helpful

The location is good, it puts you in the middle of excellent restaurants both fast food and fine dining. Every store you can think of is within a 1/4 of a mile.

Hotel was just of the interstate but was quiet. The little treats at check in were appreciated. The hotel is showing its age but everything trail works. We were on the main floor but was quiet in the room. Breakfast was ok, not a fan of powdered eggs or whatever kind of sausages were served. Coffee, juice, tea and yogurt along with cereal were other options.

From the moment we walked in the door to check in until we checked out 4 days later, every person we came across was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great. The eggs were perfect! Nice variety of selections to choose from. Convenient to Metra in Belmont and Downers Grove via car. Parking garage in Downers Grove was only $3 for the day.

Front desk was friendly everything was really nice

Nice quiet room with a comfortable bed. Shower had excellent pressure and lots of warm water. Room was clean and had sufficient lighting. Breakfast area was great one day and just so-so the second day of our stay. First day they had fresh fruit and lots of choices including eggs, bacon,roasted potatoes, waffles and more. Second day the choices were fewer and there was not as much fresh fruit. Price was very competitive. We have stayed here a number of times when visiting relatives in the area and each time we have enjoyed our stay.

We stay here every year when coming to visit Chicagoland. Breakfast has options for everyone. Clean and comfortable room. Downside is housekeeping is every other day rather than daily. Coin washer & dryer on side. Several dining options in close vicinity. Nice staff.

No towels… I washed my clothes but they did have no quarters to dry I had to hang all my stuff up the hallways was noisy I could sleep breakfast was horrible staff lady was rude when I checked out

Great place to stay. Stayed on floor with the ice machine. Good breakfast, had a different menu everyday.

Our experience was a great one! The hotel was clean, breakfast area was clean at all times. Had hot breakfast every morning, it could've been a bit warmer. Most hot food was lukewarm but it was still very good. Our room was very clean and spacious. The bed wasnt the most comfortable bed, very firm. Overall though everything was great and would stay again!

The breakfast each day had many excellent quality choices. A breakfast burrito one morning. And the menu changed each day! Outstanding value!

I think a little bit of work to make a better breakfast would earn them the 5th star. For example, I saw a sign over the waffle maker that says something like add your toppings, while there is no toppings at all, not even whipped cream.
