Generally pleasant clean place, but in need of maintenance. I would expect all of the appliances, amenities etc to be functional, especially given the price for the stay plus the extra hefty charge for the amenities. Issues included BBQs without propane, broken microwaves, hot tub not functional, boats broken

The food at the property is ok, nothing crazy but the one on the golf course is much better. The water activities are super, and the lake water are nice and comfortable and cleaner than the pool. Watch out for the pool lining is a bit like 30 grit sand paper and scraping against it is not fun. So skip the pool and hit the lake water which are clean and amazing. The hot tub is great and the fire pit activities are such a nice touch. The crew and staff are awesome and really njce people to talk to.

It was an amazing stay. Kid enjoyed it the most. Lots of options to enjoy the lake. Canoe, Kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boats, boats.. Nice place for kids and adults alike. Restaurants in there were nice too, nice food as well.

Wonderful resort. Accommodation was very convenient. Lots of things to do on water. We loved the quiet pool near the tennis court.

We go every year on holiday with our family and in-laws. The food was always excellent however most of the servers were not very good. We were told that they were too busy to bring out spreads for the bread a couple times even though the dining room had only a couple tables full of 2-3 people at each one. Orders would come out wrong which I would say was because of not listening. The resort is geared more to family with children(which I have 2 kids aged 2 and 3) some servers would bring colouring books and plastic cups with lids and others would give the kids glass cups like they are adults. This happened to us multiple times where depending on the server you had you would get a completely different experience. The property itself is quite beautiful and peaceful. They have done some nice repairs to the various decks around the property but the day to day upkeep of the property was lacking. The pool and hotub are very well maintained and kept up, but that seems to be about it. Everyday when the pool is cleaned the backwash gets poured onto the beach and destroys it. All the sand gets washed away and into the lake. Which is quite sad because it is a great spot for young kids to play in. Everyday we would fix it up ourselves so that there was sand to make castles etc to make. We love coming here and hope that these critiques help to make the resort better.

It's a beautiful place with a pool, water park, playground, restaurant. We had everything we needed. Service was also good. Room was a little dated, but absolutely okay.

We had to pay a resort fee of $50/night per room but the hot tub was broken. That’s all we wanted to use. Online it appeared there was a spa, but when we got there it was clear there wasn’t one. Rooms were pretty dated and noisy. AC was broken in one of them and the beds were lumpy. Staff also pretty grumpy We were excited to stay across from the golf course at what appeared to be a good resort, but were disappointed in the experience Rocky Crest golf course on the other hand was terrific, but we won’t be back to the resort

This property is in a great location . The suites are all located steps away from the pool and water front . I give this property 3/5 and the only reason for this is the rooms needing to be updated ! Negatives - this place needs some updates . Rooms are dated (but clean) , other pool was closed wasn’t notified about this when I booked the property ,Lots of steps .. don’t stay if you have any physical limitations Positives : location beautiful , staff nice , food good, floating water park in lake great for kids. Check in early with no issues .

We had a fantastic time. There was so much to do for the kids. We loved the restaurants on site and the fact that there were different room types to chose from for our different extended family members. The staff were so nice and accommodating. They offer free bagged ice and will take you around the resort in a golf cart as needed. (One night they took the 13 of us to and from the golf course for dinner) They have candy / chocolate / freezies in the reception building. Plus daily activities like games night / movie night. And of course check out the pickleball / basketball / volleyball courts and second pool by the smaller lake. We also went to Chef Henrie restaurant in MacTier - It was outstanding. If you get a chance you should stop in for lunch or dinner. But make a reservation!

I had to switch our room because of terrible odour in the bed room. Also, there was a group of people who were drunk and very loud in the restroom and the staff changed seats outside. I booked through the expedia so I had to pay daily amenities fee separately and it had been 5days since I checked out but they have not returned my 200 dollars security deposit yet.

We stayed in suite 46 the pull out couch is dirty and needs to be steam cleaned the pull out mattress smells like urin and needs to be replaced. A deep clean overall would go a long way. Otherwise a decent place.

Staff were very helpful. Rooms were quite run down (tears in upholstery, blinds not working, cupboard doors falling off, windows fogged between panes, etc). Water leaked through ceiling but staff were prompt to try and address the issue.

Kids love the activities at the lake. Love the Rocky Crest clothing. Very clean and comfortable, access to bbq's, room amenities. Room costs have increased over the years.

The carpets in every room are absolutely filthy. Bayside grill had awful service and we waited 20 minutes before someone even came by. Overall the whole place just needs an update.

it's located in a beautiful area but the actual place was a let down. Our unit was up a flight of stairs - so if you have any kind of issue with climbing a fair number of steps,you'd be out of luck. We were not given a good description of where the actual unit was only in general. Several outdoor lights were burnt out and so we wandered around for a good 10 minutes trying to locate the room with our luggage. The loft suite was a good size but really needs a serious update ... dirt and marks including around the light switches. The kitchenette looked like it needed a good clean. The furniture was marked and scuffed. The 'amenities' fee were ridiculous. Why would we want to go swimming in the middle of October?? Beach towels were on the amenities list - but why, when the one thing that was positive about the suite was that there were plenty of towels. Another amenity - a concierge - if there was such a being, they certainly didn't do much. Two older woman walking around in the dark trying to find a unit ... surely they should have offered to walk us over, or help with the luggage ...anything??? In room coffee marked as an amenity. I'm sorry but I have never been to a hotel, motel, b&b where you DIDN'T have coffee & tea and more offered in t he room. Phone calls which are then added to your fees. When we asked about the fees she says it covers things like parking - given that this place is quite remote it would be interesting if it didn't offer parking!!!

Rocky was clean and location was great. We were golfing both mornings. The beds were comfortable and clean. Very dated. Garden and grounds were just ok. Clubhouse did not serve breakfast. Had the Buffett breakfast the first morning. It was $22 and very basic but good.

The view is beautiful, we stayed in 2 Br suite facing lake with Sun porch. Room size excellent, very clean. Heated outdoor pool but we didn’t use it. We took a chance with the patio restaurant despite the reviews- I’m happy to say the ribs are good m, the super burger was also good. The service was slow because there’s only 1 lady for about 8 tables. Overall we liked the place. The con : rooms are dated indeed.

One issue was the heaters did not work and they were obviously broken for sometime so in the morning when it was 45° or eight Celsius, the unit was very cold and no way to heat the place up. To rent a room when you know, the temperature is going to be that low without a functioning heater Should be against the law. Another issue was the toilet in the main bedroom was not installed properly and was wobbly and unsafe. I know there is an issue was the breakfast buffet had nobody attending it no one to talk to no one to be found in the building. When all of these issues were brought up to the front desk, the attendant basically shrugged her shoulders.

The staff all around were great except at the water sport area where they looked bored and unapproachable. The unit inside was clean and well stocked. There was only AC in the one bedroom the other rooms had fans. One annoying thing was were had to sign into the internet daily. We were there for 6 nights and couldn’t see why that was necessary to do daily.

It was an unfriendly and very late check-in. Overall, it feels like a lack of management. The room seems to have been renovated recently, but the work was done poorly. For example, the washroom door was never adjusted and cannot close properly. There was no room cleaning, and even getting fresh towels was a problem. Our building was right in front of the pool, where parties never ended. People were stealing chairs from our patio, and smoking was happening everywhere around the property. The lake is beautiful, but there is no beach area. The management should take care of docks, which are literally falling apart.

We go every year on holiday with our family and in-laws. The food was always excellent however most of the servers were not very good. We were told that they were too busy to bring out spreads for the bread a couple times even though the dining room had only a couple tables full of 2-3 people at each one. Orders would come out wrong which I would say was because of not listening. The resort is geared more to family with children(which I have 2 kids aged 2 and 3) some servers would bring colouring books and plastic cups with lids and others would give the kids glass cups like they are adults. This happened to us multiple times where depending on the server you had you would get a completely different experience. The property itself is quite beautiful and peaceful. They have done some nice repairs to the various decks around the property but the day to day upkeep of the property was lacking. The pool and hotub are very well maintained and kept up, but that seems to be about it. Everyday when the pool is cleaned the backwash gets poured onto the beach and destroys it. All the sand gets washed away and into the lake. Which is quite sad because it is a great spot for young kids to play in. Everyday we would fix it up ourselves so that there was sand to make castles etc to make. We love coming here and hope that these critiques help to make the resort better.

I love every bit of stay I had at the resort with my family . The excellent service of staff, delicious food , cleanliness of room , and amenities the reason I would go back over again. Rocky Crest Resort is a perfect summer get away place that’s close to the city.

We had a fantastic time. There was so much to do for the kids. We loved the restaurants on site and the fact that there were different room types to chose from for our different extended family members. The staff were so nice and accommodating. They offer free bagged ice and will take you around the resort in a golf cart as needed. (One night they took the 13 of us to and from the golf course for dinner) They have candy / chocolate / freezies in the reception building. Plus daily activities like games night / movie night. And of course check out the pickleball / basketball / volleyball courts and second pool by the smaller lake. We also went to Chef Henrie restaurant in MacTier - It was outstanding. If you get a chance you should stop in for lunch or dinner. But make a reservation!

The location is great! The setting on Hamer Bay is lovely. The amenities especially for families are wonderful - lots of water and boating activities. Our waterfront suite had a nice view. The room itself needs an upgrade. The bath/shower needs to have safety bars. Housekeeping staff did a great job. Rocky Crest is a beautiful, clean,well kept property on Lake Joseph. We appreciated that it’s pet friendly. However, it’s way more expensive than it should be. For a two night stay(basically less than a day & a half), we thought we paid way too much. Also, the terrain is very difficult for seniors like my husband and me to navigate. I’m very sore from making my way from the parking lot and reception centre to our unit with our bags, and up and down the hill to the dining rooms and the lakeside.

The food at the property is ok, nothing crazy but the one on the golf course is much better. The water activities are super, and the lake water are nice and comfortable and cleaner than the pool. Watch out for the pool lining is a bit like 30 grit sand paper and scraping against it is not fun. So skip the pool and hit the lake water which are clean and amazing. The hot tub is great and the fire pit activities are such a nice touch. The crew and staff are awesome and really njce people to talk to.

It's been a few years since we stayed at the Rocky Crest and we had forgotten what a great place it is! We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the wood fireplace, the kitchen facilities, great view and the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was great!

Beautiful surroundings with amazing views, and we were able to canoe and do other water activities. however the rooms could use a new modern look they are very outdated and the the carpet definitely should be replaced. Rocky was clean and location was great. We were golfing both mornings. The beds were comfortable and clean. Very dated. Garden and grounds were just ok. Clubhouse did not serve breakfast. Had the Buffett breakfast the first morning. It was $22 and very basic but good.

We had an amazing time at this resort, travelling with four 15 year old boys and one 5 year old girl the amenities were fit for all ages, everyone had a blast. My only complaint is that there was no air conditioning in the bedroom which was uncomfortable to sleep in.
