Lovely family stay at the hotel. Had to pay £30 to use the pool twice for the family. Didn’t have any food whilst there however the milk and water options in the room were a nice touch for tea/coffee etc.

Staff were very helpful, loved the free cold water and milk machines in the corridors and the spa was lovely to go in for £10 on top of the stay. We are in the bar where the food was lovely and had a very comfortable stay.

The stay was ruined, the heating didn't work in room and took 4 calls to reception before they answered. They wanted £15 each to use the pool which i didn't pay. Never had to pay to use the facilities in a hotel you've paid to stay in in my life. The breakfast was self help the food was cold and not nice then on check out they tried to change me for using the pool .place is a joke would not recommend to anyone

Stayed a few times now, so evidently meets our needs. Love the breakfast. Love the pools, sauna, steam room. Love the bath, as nothing beats a bath after a 5 hour drive (the pool being closed late evening). Visitors wanting an extensive view of the Cheshire countryside may wish to make specific room enquiries or to look elsewhere: many rooms look-out onto a wall a couple of meters away.

Clean, well appointed room with extremely comfortable bed and very strong shower which I loved. Parking was plentiful although it was very busy with a number of functions on at the hotel in the evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Good choice, table service, freshly cooked and delicious. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Check in wasn’t great - arrived early so asked if room was available , and got told ‘no, check in is 15.00hrs, which we knew but no harm in asking. I had to ask to leave my luggage, and moved my case to the luggage storage to be told that it was the other side, and she put me case in another area. I asked if we needed a luggage label, which she begrudgingly then gave me. First bar man was great, knowledgable about the drinks and friendly. Then the bar staff deteriorated and didn’t seem to have a clue of what they were doing. Room was dusty, bottle for milk had a dirty milk line inside the bottle, no breakfast team and no sugar. A big fuss is made about booking breakfast and we were repeatedly told that we couldn’t book for 9am as it was fully booked. We could book for 9.30 hrs only for 4 of us but when we turned up at 9am, there were lots of set and empty tables. Breakfast was great and our waitress was great too.

When we arrived, the first room we were given was dirty unfortunately, make up up the doors and coffee on the door in the bathroom. We complained at reception and they moved us and upgraded us to a junior suite. It had a tv in the bathroom and was absolutely lovely. All the spa facilities are really nice and enjoyable with an outdoor hot tub. The breakfast was absolutely amazing both my husband and I really loved that. I must say what stood out was how nice all the staff were and couldn’t do enough for you and all seemed really pleased to help and nothing was too much. We’d definitely like to come back. Thank you!

Checked into a room which wasn’t ready. We walked in and it had not been cleaned. Was not advised about breakfast times, where restaurant was or how to access WiFi. Ordered breakfast in the room for 10.30 and went to reception to ask where it was at 10.55 and it had just left the kitchen.

A lovely hotel and spa, really superb staff. Lovely room, really clean and spacious. I would go back. However, the rooms are not soundproofed so lots of door slamming and other people’s tv sounds. The spa was fine one day but then rammed the next which was not massively relaxing! (But not sure you can do much about that). I come from london and was surprised that the drinks were more expensive here than at home!

Our stay was good,but the cleanliness of the property was at best shabby. Our room was a good size but carpets and the bath were filthy. Tables in the restaraunt were not properly cleaned. Glasses were not cleaned properly,i sat at a newly set table where the glass i had still had lipstick on it. And i would like to thank housekeeping for coming in and half making the bed, stealing our original pillows and replacing them and not replenishing tea,coffe and biscuits. Only one towel for two people.My partner had been before and not encountered any of this. Up your game in the cleanliness department.

I stayed in room 256, a junior suite. It was spacious and clean, with a balcony ( looking onto the car park but if you looked to the distance it was a nice view. Unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy sitting outside. Bathroom was clean and spacious with a TV at the end of the bath - shame the bath wasn’t big enough for 2. The shower was great. Having a just to get water and milk was great to be able to put it in the fridge and have fresh milk for a cuppa in the morning. All staff were polite and friendly. Only shame was the hotel charge extra for using the spa if you don’t book direct with them.

Pros - nice room, comfy bed. Ate in the retaurant which was quite pricey but good food and service. Cons - we were put in an ajoining room meaning we could hear every word being said by our neighbours through the door. On one night they returned at 1:30am and were chatting and playing videos on their phone until gone 3am, meaning i got a very bad nights sleep. When I raised this with reception I was only offered a verbal apology. I'm not one to complain, and perhaps if I'd been more forceful we might have received some compensation. I felt this was quite poorly dealt with. Also felt a bit conned that the pool is an extra £10pp per day to use. I've never stayed in a hotel that charged so much extra for this.

When I arrived at 6.30pm on a Wednesday I discovered I was 13th in the queue to check in, this took 35mins. The poor receptionist was on her own and doing her very best but clearly they need more staff. We were offered a free drink while we queued. My room was ok, I think I was in the dated part of the hotel, my bathroom was definitely ready for a refurb. Bed was comfortable and the shower warm. I wanted to use the gym and was told it was a £10 charge to use the spa facilities and pool, I explained I only wanted to use the gym but unfortunately it’s still a £10 charge. I travel a lot with work and have never been charged to use a gym. Won’t be returning.

The room renovations are excellent with modern airconditioning, plenty of space and a nice modern walk in shower. Ordered room service which was delivered promptly and was delicious. I'll be back next week.

I recently stayed at Cottons Hotel & Spa with my wife. We booked a Saturday stay, there was a wedding on at the same time which was nice, we didn’t feel like we were in the way at all. The hotel itself is fine, though a little outdated, but that didn’t bother me much. However, the air conditioning in the room was a problem. The noise was constant, turning on every 5-10 minutes, and it was loud enough that we had to turn it off to sleep. Unfortunately, the room became stuffy without it, but the noise was worse. If they could fix this issue, it would improve the experience a lot. The spa was smaller than I expected, but the staff were all lovely. I had a massage, and though I asked for a soft touch on my back and medium pressure everywhere else, it felt like the opposite. Even so, I still enjoyed it overall. The afternoon tea included with the package was decent, but nothing special. But having fresh milk on tap down our hallway was quite nice and different! For the price, the stay was okay, but I likely wouldn’t return unless the air conditioning issue is addressed.

I wanted to use the gym and was told it was a £10 charge to use the spa facilities and pool, I explained I only wanted to use the gym but unfortunately it’s still a £10 charge. I travel a lot with work and have never been charged to use a gym. Won’t be returning.

The venue is amazing and located in a beautiful area. The reception area and lobby are really nice areas and the bar and restaurant are lovely too. The food in the restaurant was fantastic a d the staff were brilliant everywhere. The spa facilities, pool, sauna, steam room and indoor and outdoor jacuzzis were fantastic. The room was incredible and really cool and refreshing on the hottest day of the year, it was awesome. I would go as far to say that this is the best hotel I have used in the North West of England. An absolutely amazing establishment and I will be making this my regular stop over when visiting the North West.

I stay every month at this hotel and each time I experience some form of issue. Yesterday I was given a room with no security lock. It took over 20 minutes to be moved to another room, only to experience a further problem with the lock on this door and the key card. This took another 15 minutes to resolve. I attend the restaurant, which took 10 minutes to be served for a drink, then waited another 25 minutes to order a second drink. In the end I left the restaurant due to the poor service. When I was served, the staff were friendly, but no apology was offered

The staff at the reception desk upon arrival was very offhand. We had driven up from Southampton and arrived 10 minutes early.We were told to take a seat at the bar if we wanted until our room was ready. Not the best start.

Checked into a room which wasn’t ready. We walked in and it had not been cleaned. Was not advised about breakfast times, where restaurant was or how to access WiFi. Ordered breakfast in the room for 10.30 and went to reception to ask where it was at 10.55 and it had just left the kitchen.

The Signature room was spacious with a lovely sitting area. There were recycling options. Milk and water were provided from a central location into glass containers to reduce single use of plastics. There was a Lavazza pod coffee maker. Comfortable and clean space with great proximity to Manchester Airport. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location for Knutsford. Parking was a little tight but doable. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was wonderful. Enjoyed having use of the pool. It was brilliant, the staff are absolutely lovely in all areas of the hotel. So welcoming and helpful. I was really impressed with the outstanding level of service including finding my lost earring! The spa was great and the room was fab, the free toiletries were divine. 5 mins in a cab from Knutsford too which has fab restaurants and shops.

Saturday morning breakfast was a shambles, queuing for tea, toast and food, milk had run dry and had to ask for a top up, I tried 3 pepper grinders and finally gave up. Disappointed the bathroom only had a fixed wall shower and no guide to work the heating. I was also led to believe that I would be charged extra to use the pool !! For the price we were charged I expected better.

stayed at cottons for a wedding and it was a lovely experience. only complaint was our room service breakfast made us quite ill and was not too tasty, but other than that and no late night food options at the hotel, it was such a great time. lovely room, comfy bed, great space.

Great Stay. Excellent food in the restaurant in the evening, although a little pricey but that’s hotels for you. Room was spotless, WiFi was good but phone signal poor. We didn’t stay with breakfast inc and I think £20 is a bit steep so went next door to Fryers Garden centre and had great breakfast for less than half the price!

There was a wedding on and the guests were pretty drunk and some very sweary in the public areas. The staff arent paid enough to ask them to stop swearing so there should be more management presence to deal with unacceptable behaviour. Also, there were no wine glasses available in the bar as they had all been taken to the wedding. Come on Cottons, buy more glasses. Room was great, so was breakfast and the staff in all areas are really good. Will go back but not when there's a wedding

We only used it as we were at a wedding nearby. The bed was comfortable. They closed the bar early so we couldn't get a last drink with the bride and groom when we got back around 11.30. Breakfast was £20 so we went to McDs instead. That aside, they upgraded the bride and groom for free and made them feel special which is what counts most.
