Better than a typical hotel stay. We loved the free amenities (bicycles, sauna, smores kit). Our favorite part might have been the "backyard" portion of the property. It was perfect for a morning walk. Everything is well taken care of. Our only complaint is the lack of a microwave.

The bed was comfortable, our shower didn't drain, therefore we had to stand in standing water, while taking a shower, pretty gross. We reported the condition, they tried to fix it, the water was still not draining. No place to hang up the towels. The Sauna wasn't working, the expresso machine wasn't working. They need a better cleaning system, room, hallway and bathroom. were not clean. It was nice to sit around the big steel fire pit at night where we were offered s'mores.

Fun place to stay in Lake Placid-property has nice pool, fire pit, free bikes, and lounge for morning coffee/evening drinks. Not quite as close to restaurants & shopping as I thought ( long walk or short drive). Would stay there again.

I really wanted to love this place. It has so much potential, and the interior design is great. However, sadly, my 2 nights there weren't as expected. 1. The pool was full of bugs and flies and, overall, less clean than you would like it to be. 2. The bigger issue is that our shower broke the moment we used it, and then the water was dripping (not a little) throughout our stay... 3. The wifi is totally choppy, so if you want to work, you need to tether. 4. And lastly, the moment people arrived at the room next door, it felt as if we were in a dormitory...you could hear everything...what they're talking about, what they were moving around...as luck had it, they also happened to be a group of inconsiderate guests, who were up and around way after it's polite in a hotel setting. For the price you pay, the quality wasn't there, sadly.

They advertised that they had a pool available on 07/07/2024, however it was closed by the health department. I arrived there and found this out , their cancellation policy as they stated was I will not get my money back (161.00) Expedia also said the same thing

The huge community fire pit was Awesome! The entertainment on Saturday night was top notch! Pool was not heated, but cooled us off on a hot day. The hotel provided bikes to use, and towels for the pool. No Tv in our room.

Only stayed for one night, a little mom and dad getaway without the kids without going too far from home (Saratoga NY). Was pleasantly surprised how quaint and secluded it felt. Very clean. Friendly staff. Warm and cozy feels

Staff were great. Friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Had trouble getting online and he was wonderful. Breakfast was well worth the $30. Fire pit was a nice touch. AC worked great.Bathroom was not as clean as I would expect. Walls and floor were dirty. Hairdryer was sticky. No TV. No phone in room. Water pressure was terrible. Took me twice as long just to get the soap out of my hair. Toilet was lacking water pressure too! No wash cloths. There was a pool but not in use???Summer??? No sign/directions on property to head you to office to check in. Had to call for help. Another couple had to do the same.

Staff were very welcoming, made checking in a breeze. There is lots of parking available free onsite. Our room was certainly rougher than we expected based on the beautiful photos online. It was clean, although the bathroom floor was quite dirty, and the bathroom door was broken (one hinge was fully broken right off) so it could not be closed, which was difficult for privacy. One thing to note as well if you are someone who likes the TV in your room, there are no TVs on this property so I would recommend bringing your iPad or laptop if that’s needed. We loved the fire pit, the complementary s’mores were a really nice touch. It’s a lovely place to stay, if we were to go back, we would definitely opt for the newer buildings toward the back of the property as they seemed to be in better condition than the room we had at the front of the property.

Very disappointing stay. The unit had a strong chemical smell and was not properly cleaned — we even found hair in our bed. The “bedroom” upstairs was tiny, dangerously steep stairs led up to it, and it had no air circulation, making it unbearably hot even in cold weather. The bathroom smelled bad, with a cracked and stained sink. No screens on windows or doors meant insects came inside whenever we tried to vent the smell. Calls after booking went unanswered. Overall, a very poor experience, especially for the price paid.

We had a great stay. The room is so cute and we loved the sauna and pool. The only thing I would say is that the room wasn’t very clean: quite a bit of cobwebs and dust in the corners and ceiling!

We had a large, comfortable room at the rear of the hotel with a gorgeous view! The room has a quirky decor, featuring vintage furniture and matching decorative items, creating a fun vibe. The bathroom has been up-graded. Outside there is a fire pit, encouraging guests to mingle. We recommend the breakfast basket, which arrived at the designated time with lots of fresh goodies and hot coffee. Our biggest complaint was the lack of TVs, which was frustrating for us on the night of a big sporting event.

We stayed in one of the lushna suites. It was very cute, loved that the whole window wall opened up for early mornings on the porch. Overall it was a really good stay. Just a few minor things, firstly the hot water heater is only good for 15 minutes of showering and then you need to give it 45 minutes to be ready again. This seems like very poor planning for a cabin made for couples. Either they are taking longer showers together, or showering one after another, either way...this sucks. Secondly, the opening window wall does not lock unless you press the key hole on the outside. If you do that, the door is permanently locked closed, you cannot reopen it from the inside. So your choices are either to leave your room unlocked with all your stuff in it, or give up use of the full wall and only use the man door. Thirdly, the map of the property is a little deceiving. It looks much larger and more private on the map on their website, in reality the cabins are very close together and the property is tiny. Not necessarily a drawback but if you go expecting a little seclusion and privacy, you may be disappointed. The staff we encountered was really sweet and friendly, the pool looked great (we didn't use) and the fire pit was nice. The location is really convenient to downtown and walking to a few restaurants. Overall, nice and would go again. Note: If you have any mobility issues these cabins have witch steps and may not be easy to navigate for you.

Our room was great - it had a creek view and a balcony to sit out and sip coffee. Lots of thoughtful details and high-quality furnishings. The staff was helpful, especially in the evening. Access to the park was great. It's a bit out of downtown, but that worked fine for us.

We had a great stay at the Eastwind Hotel at Lake Placid. Everything looks like how the pictures entails minus some basic wear (small marks on the wall from past guests, dog bite marks on the ac remote, black sink paint flaking off). The distance to downtown and local coffee shops made it a perfect location to stay at, far away enough that it isn't too busy but close enough that most things were within 10-15 minutes max. Be aware that the rooms do not have TVs. The cabins were very cozy. They have a community fire pit and smore kits and we loved meeting other travelers and talking for an hour or two we definitely recommend sitting down and chatting. Check in was pretty seamless they text you a code that will be your key for the cabin the whole trip. Staff reaches out daily via an automated message to check up on guests which is nice. We only had a few minor complaints: there were times each day where we would find 3-4 live ants throughout the cabin(we stayed in the lushna petite which was small, just enough room for a shower, toilet and bed) staff went through and sprayed the room while we were our which brought it down to 1-2 ants a day, we had 2-3 flys in the room per day I'm not sure if these bugs are getting in from a crack somewhere or the door, last issue was the shower water only gets warm never hot which is just a small gripe. We would stay here again if we visit Lake Placid, our gripes were minor and didn't have a major impact on our trip as a whole.

Potentially beautiful room. No view at all, which is disappointing. The oddest thing - no TV! I’ve never seen a hotel room without a TV. Also the bathroom smelled a bit mildew-ish. There’s no door on the shower (“modern”) but the lip is too low so the whole floor gets wet. I’d look elsewhere in the future.

We were in Lake Placid for the World Championships for Bobsled and Skeleton. We arrived in foggy and rainy conditions and had an issue with slippery conditions. The staff was excellent in attending to our concerns. The rooms were immaculate and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was big and had everything we needed. I particularly liked the radiator being right under the towel bar so I could have a warm towel after a shower. The rooms have their own thermostats so you can control each room’s temp. There’s a small refridge in each room and a bottle of Saratoga water. They offer a breakfast basket delivered to your door which is filled with little pastries, yogurt, jams, hard boiled eggs, oranges and some other goodies. Hot coffee was delivered in a big thermos. It exceeded my expectations. I think we could have gone to the reception area for breakfast, also. The reception room, where we checked in, was very welcoming, especially after a long travel day. There was a fire going and I just wanted to plop down in one of the big chairs and zonk out. I was very impressed by the attention to detail with the whole experience. Carolina and Patrick on the staff were particularly helpful. I didn’t realize the rooms had no tvs til we got there, but we didn’t miss them at all. I highly recommend staying here.

Our stay was from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning, the coffee available to us at reception from 8:00 am was delicious, but not available all day. Room was never cleaned during our stay, therefore garbage was never removed and Kleenex was not available at all even when requested, so bring your own. Bed was comfortable, bottled water was available at a charge after the first two bottles in our room at arrival otherwise it was tap water which was free. Although a very nice concept, several buildings housing 2 or 3 rooms, it was not what I was expecting as a hotel.

I loved everything about this property! But, I think what stands out the most is 1) its uniqueness. We stayed in a 2-person a frame cabin that was so cute and sophisticated and cozy all in one. I love the designer style. It was equipped with all the comforts we wanted. (No TV but we didn’t care! We weren’t there to watch tv). 2) the staff was so kind and helpful. Their recommendations for dining and hiking and what to see in town was perfect for us. When we got home late one night they even had our fire pit ready for us to cook s’mores at 9pm. And 3) all the little amenities around the property. A walking trail to see the river. Pool, corn hole, hammocks, a library, the community fire pit for enjoying s’mores with other visitors if you want to be social. I mean, you don’t get any of this at a regular hotel! 100% recommend.

Wonderful welcoming staff. Our two King rooms were very comfortable. Loved the breakfast baskets and the wonderful musician who entertained us one evening outside near the campfire and the free s’mores kits. Also free morning coffee or tea was a plus too. Perfect location with a nice walk to a beautiful stream.

We booked this hotel in Lake Placid through Expedia based on the great reviews, planning to celebrate my wife’s birthday there. I informed the property in advance that we’d be arriving late (around 10:30 PM), and they sent me instructions and a door code. After a long 6-hour drive, we arrived exhausted — only to find the room had not been cleaned at all after the previous guest. Trash, dirty towels, unmade bed — it was disgusting. There was no staff on site (they close after 9 PM), and the number they gave for check-in assistance didn’t answer calls or texts. We tried multiple times — no response. We had no choice but to find another hotel late at night. It was stressful, disappointing, and completely ruined the experience. This is unacceptable for any guest, especially when you pay in advance and follow all instructions. Avoid this place unless you’re willing to risk showing up to a dirty, unprepared room with no way to contact anyone for help.

The room was neat and clean. The lounge had a nice place to sit by the fire as well as a good selection of beer and wine at the bar. You can easily walk into town from here. It’s a short walk with a sidewalk the whole way.

We loved the property and our room - nice, updated, warm, modern feel. The room was clean, the bed was confortable. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend it. A couple of notes - the pool was not in service when we visited though there is one on the property. Wish we had a chance to try out the sauna but we were tired and only stayed on night. The property is located outside of downtown, so if you're hoping to be in the centre of things, you are about a 15 minute walk instead - or try out one of the bikes they lend out! That being said, there is a coffee shop across the street and it's closer to Big Slide Brewery, so there's plenty of conveniences around. And it's significantly quieter, which I found to be a bonus. Two suggestions for the property owners: 1. Better signage in the parking area pointing toward check in would be greatly appreciated! We wondered around for a while before we found it. 2. We wish our bathroom had better lighting - there was just one very small light over the sink and nothing for the shower. We checked in after backpacking in High Peaks and I realized when we went to dinner I had missed a small bit of mud on my leg because I couldn't really see much in the shower! Overall, it's a fantastic property - I highly recommed it and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I wish we had another day or two to enjoy the sauna and check out the town a bit more. Maybe next visit!

We really enjoyed our stay at Eastwind, our room was well decorated, bed was comfortable. Staff was really welcoming and helpful. This place is a gem, the outside fireplace with s’mores kit, wine, beer, coffee bar and a musician on Saturday night. We ordered the breakfast, it was well presented, delicious and delivered to our room. Someone locked the front door of our building at night, thankfully we saw that on our way out. And we had someone on our building with kids and they were really noisy early morning starting around 6 am on our last day…

A great office and live music the night we arrived. A perfect selection of drinks and small plates for a perfect casual light dinner. Firepit with smores was super cool. We used the sauna as well and that was great after a long day in the snow and cold going skiing. Our room was a great size and very comfortable. We wished there had been a microwave and mini fridge in the room and needed bigger coffee cups for the awesome "pour-over" coffee packets. You can\'t have too big a coffee cup, right!? A easy walk to town, we got Lisa G\'s take-out one night and other evenings, just walked into town for breakfast and dinner. A great stay. Will stay here again.

Place was adorable! Miss a TV and an outdoor large hot tub would have been fabulous. Place was ver crunchy/ granola! We loved it! Also loved the bonfire and free coffee in am.

Fabulous location, well designed and manages to create a wonderful sense of community. We loved the fire pit and the complimentary smore kit. The breakfast basket was a nice option for guests. The staff are so kind and helpful! Would love to stay there again.

Wonderful welcoming staff. Our two King rooms were very comfortable. Loved the breakfast baskets and the wonderful musician who entertained us one evening outside near the campfire and the free s’mores kits. Also free morning coffee or tea was a plus too. Perfect location with a nice walk to a beautiful stream.

The property was unique and quirky. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty and plentiful. Staff are friendly and very accommodating and attentive. Would definitely stay again.
