I love public areas. Especially big 'living room area' with wood fire place, small and cozy 'library' with gas fireplace. The design is very thoughtful, lots of soft wood on walls and ceiling, unfinished or lightly finished with welcoming wood scent in the air was the music for my ears. The addition of swimming pool is great too. I wish there was another elevator in the second part of the building, further from the reception

Great location, walking distance to restaurants, shops and lakefront. Cozy lounging areas on main floor. Coffee and tea available all day. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Only issue is not enough parking spaces to guarantee a spot for all guests. Would definitely return!

Really liked the property, beautiful lobby and common areas. In downtown Lake Placid so easy walk to all restaurants and shopping. Bar was not open during our stay. Also no desk in the rooms. Loved the attention to environmentally conscious shampoos, lotion, soaps etc. Would recommend!

This property is still a work in progress. They have done a nice job redoing the rooms. The first room we had smelled like paint and was on the ground level. They switched our room to a third floor without the paint smell. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a great stay!

Stayed here for a weekend trip during peak foliage season. It was a very busy weekend for the town with multiple weddings and a pro mountain biking event. Even with all the activity going on, the staff at this location were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable. The location is great as well since most everything is within a short walking distance. The ONLY issue I had with my whole stay was the parking situation. There was not enough parking for all the bookings by a long shot and I ended up accidentally parking illegally on the street and was told I had to park even further away. 1st world problem for sure but it was definitely inconvenient. I think maybe offering a valet service would be a great way to improve customer satisfaction with this issue! All in all though, I really had a wonderful time here and would definitely both recommend staying and come back and stay here again!

The common areas looked nice however the carpet in the room was torn and frayed, the lamp was wobbly and overall the hallways were dingy. Staff was friendly. Upgraded to a queen suite and thought the room would be nicer but had to walk through an unfinished area to get to the room. Pool was closed.

Very mixed review: My son and I just stayed at the Bluebird. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and beds were comfortable. It is pretty barebones so if you are looking for something with bells and whistles, keep looking. It was recently renovated but still feels old and hallways are so dark. had musty smell. Elevator needs a huge makeover. Air conditioning very loud in room. Great location. Very affordable.

From the photos this looks like a modern/clean location , unfortunately the furniture around the lobby was dirty. One reception staff came off as very unfriendly and not accommodating. There was no grab and go breakfast as advertised just some old bananas turning brown. The furniture was dirty and our room after three days was not cleaned which you can notice by the dirt and hair in the ground. We bought a room that included a pull out bed for the kids but it really wasn’t a bed, the kids basically sleep on the couch. Also almost all rooms face the parking lot so no view. Great location near the strip, comfy king bed, and it was safe but the location needs done work.

This stay was average. They have completed some fairly nice updates to the interior of the hotel, but you can tell it's very dated. They don't keep hotel staff on overnight, but rather give you a phone number to call in case of emergencies. The room itself was clean, but the exterior was dirty, the windows filthy, and it was crawling with spiders. Some attention is needed out there. The price is lower than other Lake Placid hotels, so I expected this type of place. May be back...we'll see!

Property was conveinant for walking around Main Street and staff was friendly, although the lobby and downstairs entrance areas was newly renovated and nice, the halls and rooms were old rooms with a poor attempt to make them look new. Furniture in room was full of dog hair as they were many dogs in the hotel as well and the floors were dirty and sticky. Although a fairly nice place to stay, it was very overpriced in my opinion.

The interior is very aesthetically pleasing and the room was pretty. However, once you look closer you realize they rushed to open and arent quite ready. There is tons of seating in the lobby and ground floor, but no emenities available. They offer coffeee between the hours of 7:30-11:30am in an electric carafe, and every time you go to get one, there is a sign on it saying "brewing," so getting one is impossible. The stairway to the room show spakle and paint on the handrails, and the nail holes are filled, not sanded, and completely unfinished. The room was pretty, but, no cofee maker, no finish work, and a large gap above the bathroom door where the drywall work is unfinished. The T.V has no channels to offer. But, the worst part, when we went to bed the first night, a very large piece of broken glass fell out of the bed linens to the floor. We reported it, and the staff did offer the change our linens the next day and offered us 2- $30 gift cards towards another stay at one of their locations. But,we had to pick the cards up at the reception desk, which was not manned most of the day. Seeing as we were their to hike and tour, we were not in the hotel midday to see anyone. Also, they never came and changed the linens. We checked out with a pile of 8 pieces of glass on the nightstand that was there our entire 4 night stay, towels were also never replinished. Trash was never emptied. The metal hall door had no bumpers and slammed RIDICULOUSLY loud! We slept worse than ever!

Good location, right around the corner from the main street. My room was clean and comfortable, also had a partial view of the lake which was nice. Stayed here only 2 nights to hike Mount Marcy which is only about a 15-20 minute drive to the Adirondack Loj, where the Van Hoevenberg trailhead begins

We booked last minute and enjoyed our quick overnight. The location was right at the end of the Lake Placid town so we could walk to shops and restaurants. VERY safe area and a view of Mirror Lake. Staff was very kind and beds were comfy! The king deluxe room was quite spacious for hanging out in the couch.

I really had high hopes for this stay but unfortunately it fell short of expectations and this is why: Several conflicting answers from the staff, I asked if they would match a much lower rate on Expedia vs the website and was told NO over the phone but when I got to the hotel they told me YES. I asked for a room with a balcony (which was pictured on the photos) and was told there were no rooms with balconies which is correct (pls take that photo down it's misleading). I asked for a view of the lake and was told that the more expensive rooms which is what I booked faced the parking lot. There is no soundproofing between rooms and also the windows facing the parking lot. We stayed 3 nights and every night we were woken up by several rowdy dudes at 3-4am outside of our window. There is no outdoor space at all in this hotel so if you want to enjoy time outside you should stay elsewhere. The breakfast is lackluster if you want something to eat go early as they ran out of simple things like coffee, yogurt etc rather quickly. PROS: the design is nice in the common areas. The beds are comfortable.Close proximity to restaurants and bars.

To start things off this place is very noisy and the walls are paper thin so you could hear people in the other room breathing at night and flushing the toilet and the water running down the pipes and also the children stomping around and running/walking upstairs. It is an old hotel that has been renovated. The heater inside the room was so old and making extreme noises constantly so we just turned it off completely.

You did a great job remodeling the lobby. It doesn’t even look like it’s used. Not sure the bar is open. The room was clean. The bathroom is very modern but what’s up with the end tables next to the bed that are 2 feet lower than the bed and zero furniture in the room, the only place to sit is on the bed Seems odd ….

Disappointing, misleading and ill equipped for hospitality. Leaving unrested, anxious and furious. The experience of this hotel equates to sleeping on a friends couch during a house party, but with better pillows. Within two hours of checking in I felt entirely unwelcome and mislead by bluebird and asked to leave. I am worse off for having stayed here, and wish I just got right back on the road rather than try and get any rest here. I work in hospitality and have never written a review before, but this is genuinely the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I will be forwarding more details elsewhere. The complete lack of respect from other guests and lack of accountability/reinforcement from staff with the failure to offer me a way to get out of this environment has been detrimental. I am very upset and will be seeking a refund. The limited assurances I was given regarding quiet hours (as the bare minimum) weren't even followed up on. For a space that has undergone such extensive and intentional upgrades in todays hospitality climate, I am shocked by the lack of care and protocol in the remaining areas of this business. I feel stuck in this hotel that I cannot enjoy or rest in. If I could afford to just buy another hotel room anywhere else I would. I paid a premium for a beautiful hotel that fell flat in every other category. I have a more detailed review speaking to these issues that I will be following up with.

We booked last minute and enjoyed our quick overnight. The location was right at the end of the Lake Placid town so we could walk to shops and restaurants. VERY safe area and a view of Mirror Lake. Staff was very kind and beds were comfy! The king deluxe room was quite spacious for hanging out in the couch.

Wonderful. Comfy stay for 2 nights. Hotel was clean, reception staff and manager were excellent. Nice fireplaces in lobby areas which were warm and cozy. Bartender very nice. Had drinks near fireplace both evenings. I would highly reommend; spacious room with comfortable bed and nice shower.

Staff members checking in were super friendly and helpful. Staff members for complimentary breakfast were friendly greeting everyone who passed through. Room service was excellent as well. Overall great customer service here.

From the photos this looks like a modern/clean location , unfortunately the furniture around the lobby was dirty. One reception staff came off as very unfriendly and not accommodating. There was no grab and go breakfast as advertised just some old bananas turning brown. The furniture was dirty and our room after three days was not cleaned which you can notice by the dirt and hair in the ground. We bought a room that included a pull out bed for the kids but it really wasn’t a bed, the kids basically sleep on the couch. Also almost all rooms face the parking lot so no view. Great location near the strip, comfy king bed, and it was safe but the location needs done work.

This hotel is right in the middle of all the activities and shops. We loved our stayed here, however the people in the front desk were not pleasant or informative. They should train them to have a better customer service specially because the hotel is really nice and clean.

The location to Main Street is great for walking to dinner, shops, and seeing the Olympic hockey venue - even in the snow! There is also a shuttle stop right outside that takes you to Whiteface Mountain for skiing. The rooms were very comfortable and the view of the lake was spectacular. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the entire experience of the hotel and especially the city of Lake Placid.

My husband and I , just 1 overnight. The hotel is nicely updated. Beautiful open entry area with a Good view from there overlooking the lake. Nice bar with small plates available. Continental Breakfast, and coffee…(if you can call it coffee) we went out for breakfast. Overall, acceptable for 1 night.

Our overall stay was honestly horrible and we left 2 nights early! The ceilings in the hallways were collapsing with buckets catching water, sometimes over flowing. The pool was closed, and had been for quite some time. The bar was not open during the posted hours and there was no hot to order breakfast as stated online. Our 'mountain view' was no view at all, as the windows were covered with a frosted cover. At night it sounded like there were animals digging outside the windows. There was also a lot of snow coming down and the parking lot was never plowed. People were getting stuck or shoveling themselves out, while other lots around were cleared and accessible. When trying to talk to staff about our concerns we were met with disappointment or rudeness. I was excited to stay in this hotel as it looked very inviting and had amenities we were looking forward to. We were extremely disappointed!

I really had high hopes for this stay but unfortunately it fell short of expectations and this is why: Several conflicting answers from the staff, I asked if they would match a much lower rate on Expedia vs the website and was told NO over the phone but when I got to the hotel they told me YES. I asked for a room with a balcony (which was pictured on the photos) and was told there were no rooms with balconies which is correct (pls take that photo down it's misleading). I asked for a view of the lake and was told that the more expensive rooms which is what I booked faced the parking lot. There is no soundproofing between rooms and also the windows facing the parking lot. We stayed 3 nights and every night we were woken up by several rowdy dudes at 3-4am outside of our window. There is no outdoor space at all in this hotel so if you want to enjoy time outside you should stay elsewhere. The breakfast is lackluster if you want something to eat go early as they ran out of simple things like coffee, yogurt etc rather quickly. PROS: the design is nice in the common areas. The beds are comfortable.Close proximity to restaurants and bars.

The food options are very poor. They had a menu, but couldnt serve the menu because they did not WANT to cook any meal. Highly disappointing. One of the worst hotel experiences iv ever had. Beds were new, but the rest of the place was just so old with a cheap paint job to cover it up.

A very convenient location to the Lake Placid village - super easy walking distance. The lounge was comfy with a spectacular view of Mirror Lake. We had a nice, spacious room (but we had a parking lot view) Breakfast coffee was excellent, breakfast was minimal.

The inside decoration was unique, the entirely wooden interior was a charming implement of the inn. Breakfast was simple but nutritious so I am glad this was included in the room's price. Most important though was the comfort of the room and the bed itself, I'd recommend this place for its great location and peace of mind.
