Loved this spot! We had two rooms. There were hockey families staying in hotel and my kids heard them running around but we did not. Dined at breakfast weekend buffet and it was great. Indoor pool. Wish there was a hot tub and it would be perfect!

Wonderful stay at The Cambria. Especially loved the heated pool & the fire pits outside by the lake. If you are lucky enough to speak with Earl at the front desk, do take advantage of his knowledge of the area.

I liked the location. Clean and friendly staff. The Fitness center and swimming pool was a plus. The Hotel also had plenty of parking and was in a nice area for walking. The Only downside is paying extra for breakfast. (Most hotels come with a breakfast). But I did like that coffee was always available. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Much enjoyed. Thank You

Free use of kayaks was a wonderful bonus. Linens and facilities were newly remodeled and clean. Restaurant was delicious and had gluten free options. The pool and gym were clean and accessible.

Great location to use for a starting point to explore the region. We stayed here 3 nights and had a great time. Property feels new and clean enough. Had some minor cleanliness issues with the room but mostly because I'm picky: Dirty mirrors, dusty light fixtures, mildew in the shower. Beds were clean and VERY comfortable. Slept great. Biggest complaint is how thin the walls are! We could hear every word being spoken in the rooms on either side of us. Since we were staying 3 nights, it became an interesting game to "meet" our new neighbors each night by hearing them through the walls. The pool and gym are both great. Restaurant is a bit pricy but most restaurants in the area are since it's so tourist-y. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area. Just be warned, bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!

We stayed at this newer hotel for our 30th Wedding anniversary. I really wanted to like this hotel. The staff at the front desk were very nice and accommodating. However, the experience went down from there. In our first suite, there was an ongoing sound like a foghorn. We spoke to someone at the front desk and he moved us to another suite. At this point we were exhausted since it was in the later evening when we returned from our excursions. The layout of our next room was nice and had a balcony. However, it was not throughly cleaned and there were empty beer boxes behind a chair from a previous guest. The sink did not drain well, the water pressure from the shower was horrible and we had asked for our room to be cleaned the evening before. When we returned, the room was never cleaned and someone else's trash still sat there. Again, we had to complain. We did get our trash emptied and received new towels. When checking out we were asked how our stay was. After I shared our experience, we were compensated a bit for our experience. In the future, I hope this hotel fixes the issues and becomes a great stay for all guests.

It's conveniently located about 3 minutes of drive from Main St. on the shore of Mirror Lake. It has plenty of parking on the site. The staff was friendly. Just remember housekeeping is on request only.

Lovely hotel, great rooms, nice pool and gym, lovely views. For a brand new property was surprised and disappointed just how loud the ac is in the room. Most hotels can keep a permanent quiet fan going, this was a real racket and blasted very cold air, so we preferred not to have it on overnight. Other than that, lovely.

Clean modern room. TV was in an odd place . We were on the second floor, we could hear people walking above us and what sounded like rolling their luggage across the floor. Could have been bad if it continued late at night. The smoke detector had a flashing light on it that was annoying. Ate in the restaurant for breakfast. Food was good but service wasn’t the best. Didn’t refill coffee (but there’s a coffee station across from the restaurant so no big deal. Forgot our orange juice.

The room was clean and beautiful, and felt very new. The staff was pleasant. I am sensitive to noise, the front desk manager met my concern promptly and moved us to a quiet room at the end of the corridor. I wish we would’ve come earlier in the month, to have breakfast on the deck or sit on the chairs in front of the pool, or have time to do smores in the evening at the waterside. Also most hotel pools leave a foggy mess on the windows. The pool was warm without the fog. We went off season, likley there are more restaurant and breakfast choices on the menu during main season. I’d also suggest to have robes for the pool in the room, as there is no changing or shower at the pool. I was a bit surprised about a 50$ deposit at our arrival, I guess theft is a real concern here.

Hotel was nice and clean however they had 2 shortfalls with me. First I ordered an old fashioned cocktail. It was served to me with an insect in it. Second I was stuck and stranded in an elevator for a half an hour. The elevator malfunctioned. Doors shut, controls stopped working. I used the call button and nobody answered. Hit the alarm button that made a loud alarm for about 10 minutes. Finally I heard someone on the outside and talked my way through it. It was the night clerk who was friendly and called the fire dept, When they arrived nobody had the over ride key needed. They worked on a control panel then the door opened. The clerk said management would take care of me. I haven't heard from them yet. I did notice a time and date within the elevator that was off day and time which suggests to me that there was an existing short in the system and wasn't addressed or repaired leaving customers at risk. Please address preventative safety issues.

Absolutely wonderful location and staff! The rooms are spacious and cozy and the hotel is in great proximity to Lake Placid’s adorable downtown. Charlie at the front desk is so kind and helpful, especially when it comes to hiking trail recommendations!

Everything else was excellent. However, the front desk staff could be more polite and welcoming. When a customer is speaking, it’s important to make eye contact and show genuine interest rather than scrolling on your phone. Hospitality is all about being hospitable, and this small effort can make a big difference. Overall I was very pleased with the stay

We were extremely pleased with the helpful, hospitable, professional staff we encountered on all levels. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting down by the water. It was beautiful and peaceful. We had breakfast in the hotel both mornings. They were satisfying. We highly recommend the Cambria!

The hotel was very clean and hotel staff was very courteous. Would have given an excellent rating but on our last day, we waited 45 minutes at the restaurant to place our order and another 45 minutes to get our food. In house restaurant food was delicious but perhaps need to consider more staff during the weekend and experienced staff with a good understanding of customer service.

We liked this a hotel very much. It's clean, room was spacious, bads were comfortable with plenty of good pillows, bathroom was impeccable. The great feature in the shower stand was the faucets installed on the opposite wall from the shower head. The only negative I'd say was the location a little off the main street, but in the good weather it's a very pleasant walk to the downtown. At one at one time we were not lucky and there was a shower rain and we had to take Uber to get back to the hotel from the sports center. Other than that I would recommend this hotel to everybody.

We really enjoyed our week stay. The complementary kayak was the icing on the cake. It was within a 15 walk to Main St., Lake Placid. I’ve stayed on Main Street in the past and the location was totally fine. The hotel looks fairly new with a comfortable interior room design, modern exterior look.

Unit heater/AC squirrel cage rattled loudly when running. Bed was nice and soft but has pitch towards the center. Toilet is nice but was not set properly, tips back and forth. The chicken pasta primavera was so bland I didn’t finish it. Service was very good though. Property is very nice! Surprised you want a review, the lady who checked me out didn’t.

The hotel itself seems either new or newly renovated. It was very clean and the staff responded quickly to requests for things to be brought to the room. There were some views of the lake and mountains from their restaurant on site with indoor and outdoor seating. The firepits down by the lake were very cozy. We were pleasantly surprised when we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant.

We liked location & quietness, especially since it’s a larger property. The Haystack Bar & Bistro had wonderful crunchy chicken wings, but my salad with added chicken was terrible, the chicken was chewy, not good. I didn’t eat. The server did offer me if I wanted something else, but the damage was already done. The salad was not removed from the bill or discounted. The modern rooms are designed well, with a huge lake wall art & unique lighting. Overall, a wonderful stay.
