2060 The Newton Hostel

Really loved my brief stay here and made so many friends in a very short time . Staff were very accommodating and luggage storage was ideal for exploiting the city before my flight and kitchen with free coffee :) Only downside was I didn’t get to use the spa , given there wasn’t very ideal booking slots suited around check out and was a missive selling point for choosing. Will hopefully be able to in my next booking :)

Локация хорошая: рядом два продуктовых - лидл и карефур(24 часа), метро, главная площадь. До всего пешком можно ходить, парк Ретиро минут 20 ходьбы. Сам хостел не большой, но есть кухня со всем необходимым, души и туалеты на этажах, кофе и чай бесплатный. Дают карту города, есть полезые инструкции, а бесплатные 2 экскурсии групповые. Я жила в женском номере на 8 чел, душ и туалет были внутри номера. Это и хорошо и плохо, все принимают душ когда хотят, номер маленький, так что шумно. Душ тоже маленький, чтобы шла вода нужно нажимать постоянно кнопку. не хватает полочек. Окно есть на улицу, если закрыть то будет тихо. Кондей работает. Вид с крыши не плохой, но там все курят, так что не курящим там не очень хорошо. Большой плюс - после выезда бесплатно можно оставить багаж и принимать душ, ну и пользователь кухней.

Everything was fine except they don't have hot water, and it's very limited. You have to shower by pressing on the bottom, which is incredibly uncomfortable. Everything else was excellent, and the coffee and churros for breakfast were delicious! Todo bien excepto que no tienen agua caliente y muy limitada, te debes bañar presionando un bottom y eso es demasiado incómodo. Todo lo demás estuvo excelente y el café con churros para el desayuno delicioso!

Fully stocked kitchen with group refrigerators is a plus. Rooftop patio is amazing. Plenty of people from all over. Great vibes. Beds were nice and comfortable cubbys. Storage under bed with a place for your own lock is great. They will hold your bags until check in or it you are checking out until you're ready. Very accommodating staff. Do them a favor and don't loiter outside late at night. It is a residential neighborhood and people definitely complain.

Nice hostel, some people in the reception others they look like they hate their job, the terrasse is nice but the drinks are at club prices.The facilities are excellent but the maida clean the room at 10 and they talk loud.

El personal es amable y siempre está dispuesto a ayudar. ¡La taquilla gratuita para dejar el equipaje antes y después del check-in es genial! Está cerca del metro y se puede ir caminando a varias atracciones turísticas de la ciudad. Las habitaciones son cómodas. El baño de nuestra planta estaba en obras, lo que lo dificultó un poco; pero como podíamos usar los baños de otras plantas, estuvo bastante bien. Volvería a este lugar sin problema.

Really great hostel. Rooms and facilities were clean. There was a locker under the bed, if you buy your own lock make sure it is a very thin-barred one so it fits. Shower rooms could be bigger but had their own little sink, mirror, and places to put your things. The shower was strong and nice and hot! There is also a sink, urinal, and toilet cubicle too. Never had to wait for shower to be free - there are four on each floor (2 for male, 2 for female). The kitchen area was good with plenty of seats. I didn't cook or prepare food but looked like would be suitable to do so and was very clean! Beds were comfy, liked having a curtain although would prefer if could also cover up the big circular hole for privacy. Overall, highly recommend.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay there, and I am glad I got a chance to introduce her to the hosteling lifestyle that I so enjoyed in my 20s. Everything was perfect. From the helpfulness of the staff, to the cleanliness of the rooms to the comfort of the beds. I especially liked the spa after a long day of traveling.

The location was centrally located and easy to get around. Front staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable. We had a private 4 bunk room. There was a sewer smell that was coming ftom the shower. Room was pretty clean but bathroom for toilet and shower had lots of dyat vuilt up on bsdeboards. Kitchen and common spaces were small. For younger travelers there activities planned that looked fun...pub crawals, tours, beer pong, bar hours on roof (pretty small space).

El personal muy amable, las instalaciones lindas. OJOO!! Si quieres seleccionarlo por la tina de hidromasaje, no está incluida, tiene un costo extra de aprox 13€. Servicios generales como cocina, horno de microondas, etc. Por las mañanas te regalan café y churros :) Yo elegi habitación de puras mujeres y muy lindo todo, a excepción de que en mi habitación no habia agua caliente ni para bañarse ni para manos, tenia que subir a otros pisos. Puedes llegar antes a hacer tu check in y te ayudan a guardar tus cosas en lo que da la hora pars hacer uso de las instalaciones.

Hi, the reception was great and the location is excellent. However, the room wasn’t properly cleaned—we even found clothes from the previous guest. The shower was also disappointing, as it takes a long time to warm up and you have to keep pressing the button. Overall, if you’re mainly looking for a convenient location, this place works.

The hostel was amazing... Superbly clean and calm... Check in and check out was a breeze and it was central to all the touristy places.... Would love to visit again...

O lugar é maravilhoso, os atendentes são otimos e tem churros e café de graça todos os dias o que ajuda em momentos de pressa. Os quartos e banheiros são todos limpos, tudo impecável.

Em minha primeira experiência em um hostel achei muito gratificante, fiquei por algumas horas p aguardar um vôo. Recepcionistas atenciosos, local muito limpo e quartos silenciosos. Adorei.

I booked the 12 person female dorm and the sheets had some hair on it when I checked in, so I'm not sure if they were changed. The A/C in the room broke for two nights so we had to leave the windows open and it got super hot then chilly. There were two toilets and two shower stalls per floor per gender which felt a bit dirty, perhaps due to high traffic the weekend I stayed. I never had to wait to use those though. The toilet stalls were super tight, I could barely turn around. Free coffee and churros every morning and always a ton of activities to do! I think this is a great affordable option for a short stay.

Had high hopes after reading reviews, but was very disappointed. The good: Great central location, 1-min walk to metro station, Lidl and Carrefour market, 5 mins walking to Plaza Mayor. Beds have blockout curtains, elevators in building. The bad: The noise. Guests come and go all night since there is a pub crawl every evening at 11pm. Drunk people don't respect quiet hours, slamming doors and yelling in the corridors. The fridge was disgusting. Food thrown everywhere on top of each other. My food was soaking wet and destroyed due to someone throwing their stuff with liquids on top of it. Also, on check-in the staff member told me they didn't have any reservation under my name. Took them a while to finally find it. Definitely a place for young party-goers. If you want to get some sleep, don't stay here.

For the standards of being hostel, this is a top-notch place. Comfortable and quiet, and lots of privacy. I was in a 12 bed female dorm and it was a nice stay. I luckily had the bed in front of the AC so it was comfortable, otherwise I would probably have thought it was hot. They had a communal kitchen that was well stocked with all types of appliances to make food as if it was a full kitchen.

We were a group of three and therefore rented an entire room with 4 beds for the night. It was $99 which was ok, but not amazing. If we had been there for more than 1 night, an AirBnB would have been the same price or even cheaper. Doors were slamming until 1am. It was impossible to sleep. The room was a bit dirty, but the AC was very strong. The staff was very friendly. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Too noisy, cold. Difficult to sleep

For six weeks I stayed in hostels around Western Europe and 2060 Newton was probably my favorite hostel. It is a the perfect balance between social and work-friendly, with a general area next to the kitchen that’s more social, and the ‘bunker’ that’s quiet and perfect for working. The bathrooms are clean and while kept, beds are very cozy and private, reception is always friendly and helpful, kitchen is workable for its size, and the roof is a great place to hang out with friends. I definitely recommend taking the walking tours if you do want to make friends at the hostel and others nearby, as well as the pub crawls (but note I wish reception would have given a better estimate on the tips asked at the end of the walking tours, be prepared to tip at least 10£, up to 20+. But it’s a great tour and well worth the money for 2-3 hours.) I think my only critique was that some of the bed cubbies lacked ventilation and the in room AC was difficult to navigate, so your room could get a bit stuffy at night.

Beds were comfortable.

Bed was comfortable, but there is too much noise to get a good night's sleep. You can hear everything outside your room, you can hear people talking in the hallway from a floor down and all of the doors slamming and it vibrates the walls of your bed. If you need a cheap place to stay this is probably ok but if noise bothers you , you will not get a good night's rest here.

Çocuklu aile olduğumuz için, biz ayrı olarak 3 yataklı ve özel banyolu bir oda seçmiştik. Odalar tabii biraz küçük, ancak bize 1 gece için yetti. 2-3 gece için bile idare edilir. Merkezi konumda. Ayrıca metro ve otobüs durağına çok yakın. Yürüme mesafesinde. 24 saat açık olan resepsiyon da çalışanlarda çok ilgiliydi. Ayrıca güvenli ve düzenli bir yerdi. İlk defa tereddüt ederek bir Hostel’de kaldık. Ancak çok beğendik.

This is a unique and fun hostel. The staff were so kind and helpful making being a tourist without language skills so comfortable.

Personnel vraiment pas terribles ! A fuir ! Manquant d\'écoute et de disponibilité ou le business règne à faire du remplissage laissant la qualité d\'accueil des voyageurs de passage de côté ! Ce n\'est pas du tout l\'esprit que je cherchais en allant dans cet hébergement collectif ou le prix est plus cher que la plupart proposé. J\'attendais à avoir un service qualitatif après mon périple à Compostelle ! Malheureusement avec la fatigue du voyage, j\'ai fait une erreur en sélectionnant une chambre dortoir "femelle" lors de ma réservation sur Expédia. En effet, étant en itinérant, je n\'ai pas fait attention a ce détail ! une erreur ça peut arriver à tous ! La plupart des hébergements collectifs sont mixtes ! A mon arrivée, il n\'y avait pas de chambre pour "mâle", j\'ai dû aller dormir dans un autre hébergement à coté 1 nuit et revenir le lendemain. De payer de nouveau 2 nuits en attente de mon remboursement qui allait se faire ultérieurement (ce que l\'agent d\'accueil m\'a annoncé) pour apprendre par email par Expedia à mon retour de séjour de Madrid que l\'hébergeur n\'a pas accordé son aval pour me rembourser la somme de 66€ pour les 3 nuits qui a été réservées par erreur ! L\'hébergeur avance comme argument qu\'ils ont une politique de vente stricte ! Je trouve ça inconvenable, irrespectueux et inadmissible ! De subir un racket en toute impunité de cette sorte. Je ne recommande pas cet hébergeur pour la situation rencontrée et son manque de transparence et d\'honnêteté.

Very accessible via Metro. Helpful staff.

It was my first hostel experience, I didn't know what to expect. But my trips after Madrid made me appreciate more about this hostel. It is safe quiet and you have privacy (at least I had, don't know about other rooms). Everywhere is an a walkable distance. Lastly I want to thank the staff and especially Carlos, because I travelled alone I didn't know what to do and he guided me.

It is a good choice for staying the night. It was my first time in a place like this. The staff was friendly but the hostel charges you the locker key of the luggages. Although I expected the room to be a little spacier. The toilet and bath room were also very small. I needed a bigger sink or shelf so as to put my things for as Long I used These rooms. There were only hangers. Overall the bed and sheets were clean, the curtain gives you privacy, the room and my 7 roomates were mostly quiet (I just met 2 of them, nobody bothers you) but you can imagine that in a place like that you Will hear caughing, Door opening and closing during the night, the lockers, the luggages that come and go! If you are a heavy sleeper you will be ok. The air condition was functioning perfectly giving the high temperatures but personally I would like to have a blanket too. The area around its noisy and messy but is a life saver giving its proximity to public transports. I would choose it again just for one night.

Hostel é incrível, 3 minutos da estação de metro, 20 minutos a pé até a estação de trem (Sentido Barcelona). Fiz vários pontos turísticos andando e curtindo a vibe dessa cidade maravilhosa, fui embora não querendo ficar. Ambiente super agradável, recepção e atendimento nota 10. Tudo muito limpo, eles se reúnem para curtir a noite, tem vários passeios. Vale muito a apena.

The boys that worked front desk in the evenings were very friendly, made me feel welcomed everytime and very helpful for check in, giving advice on the area and things to do with the hostel. Kitchen was very small, but the free churros and coffee were nice. Good areas to hangout in - although I didnt find people to be very social in the social areas, maybe just a slow time of year. Good area of Madrid and felt very safe. Privacy in the dorm was great, slept very well.

es muy confortable y agradable. La terraza exterior con barra para tragos esta genial. y los churros de regalo en el desayuno muy ricos. Todo un detalle! Muy recomendable ya que esta al lado de dos lineas de Metro.

Excelente hostel! Amabilidad de sus empleados, instalaciones siempre limpias. La cocina d uso comun super completa. Muy buena ubicacion! Volveria a elegirlo!
