A lovely trip away for my partners birthday. We had a sea view room and it was exceptional. The British weather can’t be helped but the view was still great. My only struggle was with the parking as it wasn’t super clear where the parking was at the rear.

It was absolutely beautiful. Right on the front and we had the hottest weather. Nice bar underneath where we sat and had a drink overlooking the sea and pier. Room was very hot though but we did have a big fan in the room. Nespresso machine was a big hit and the fridge with free water cooled. Absolutely loved our stay. Had a lovely chat with the cleaner. Lovely lady and very friendly.

Lovely clean room and excellent 2nd floor view. There is a lift that goes to the ground floor and accessable via the back of the Tapas Bar, otherwise you would have to drag heavy bags up one flight of stairs!

The property was so good Loved the room and the bathroom was so good. Well maintained and easy to check in, lots of parking spaces available near to the property. Only issue was wifi, the speed was so bad and there was no network in that area.

A little confusion at the start on which room I had. The video could be clearer. It is unfortunate there is no air conditioning in the room, but I guess that is standard for the UK. Amazing views and great access to restaurants below. Room was clean, housekeeping was great and overall a good stay.

We stayed in December so was very quite and easy to park.The property was very clean. Decor was modern and bright. It was very cold outside but room was lovely and warm. Only disappointment which was nothing to do with the property was thar the cocktail bar downstairs closed very early

Staying for one night between Bluestone and home - and to visit Home, and this was the ideal location. We were very (pleasantly) surprised by the quality of the area, and the super accommodation. The view over the sea and Penarth pier makes it very special. The road is quite busy during the day, but the windows are effective at cutting out the noise. I suspect that parking would be very difficult during the summer, but we had no problem.

Nice rooms, very spacious and well laid out. Nice and clean but...only cleaned/made up every other day. Tv is a smart tv with apps that you have to be able to log into. Which means no terrestrial tv and can't even watch the news. The emergency fire escape light was so bright it kept me awake. I'll use again at last minute if the price is right but otherwise will use an alternative

Lovely large room overlooking the seafront . Spotlessly clean . No issues getting the key . A bit confusing to start with which way to go inside the building but it was fine. Pier just opposite for a nice stroll and cafe very good there

We were unable to stay as our room had not been cleaned. I had been told that I would receive an email the day before which did not arrive. When I eventually contacted the company (the information that I had was incorrect as the management company had changed).I was told that I had gone to the wrong room! I have sent them the previous email with the room number and key code and am waiting for a reply. I had to travel home

It was an attractive, spacious, quiet, well-situated and well maintained property. Minor point, but it would have benefitted from some kind of table/shelf/flat surface in the bathroom to put one's washbag etc on.

Amazing location safely nestled above lovely restaurants and quick walk to a breakfast/coffee shop. The views were stunning as overlooking the water. The only downside was lack of AC or cross breeze and it was a hot day while we were there. Also, the cups in our room were dirty so did not use those items.

Beautiful room, stunning view and perfect location. One huge issue… the heat! The windows open approximately 2inches.. with no air con this made it unbearable to be in the room. A fan is provided in the room but when on you feel like you should have airline ground staff level ear defenders on. Friends were staying in one of the courtyard rooms and their windows opened but had an open extra unit of safety glass. This provided air circulation and security. Unsure as to why not done in the front rooms. With the heat of the room it would have been nice if more bottled water was provided.. am sure we are not the first to bring up this issue.

The disappointment was that I thought I'd booked a "deluxe" room with sea view - the sole point of booking this facility - but that turned out not to be the case. We were located at the rear of the building, with no view of the sea at all. I found the check-in procedure a bit frustrating. There is a two-step process. First, you have to complete a registration form, but I received nothing and had to contact the company. Then, when registration is complete, they are meant to send you check-in instructions straight away. Again, this did not happen and I had to go out of my way to ask. So, not ideal. The hotel had a nice relaxed feel. The room was very comfortable and well stocked and the bathroom was excellent. We were in room 6 with nice views over Penarth pier. The restaurants and bars below did not disturb us at all as they closed by 11. The room was on the warm side but that is our only criticism

The room was amazing spacious and clean to a high standard. My only issue was we paid for a sea view but had a call to say someone had booked 2 mins before myself and the sea view room had been taken. No offer of a refunded as we paid extra for the sea view that we didn’t get.

The check in procedure was fraught as I needed to revise the payment card registered with Expedia. This was not notified to me until an hour before arrival. Very stressful!! There is a Fire Escape green light on the bedroom ceiling which is very bright and stopped us sleeping!

What a delightful place to stay! With a beautiful view of the water and the pier. The only downside for us: we stayed in early summer during a hot spell and the room was warm all day and through the night.

I never got to stay there because the property owner never gave check in instructions 24 hours prior even though he was supposed to. He never even picked up the phone or called back when i left him a message check in time. I was completely ignored for over a day past the time he was supposed to send instructions. Then later that night at 11pm he gives me check in instructions. Too late. Way too late. Our whole trip is ruined because of this. Now he doesnt even want to give a full refund even though its his fault for not sending us instructions! He broke the contract. This is ridiculous and highly unproffessional. 0 stars. Do not stay. Avoid at all costs.

Self check in was easy and our room was great with views straight onto the sea. The sound of the sea lapping against the walls was lovely. It is a pity that there is no reception where someone is available should they be needed. We stayed here before when there was a reception and although we didn’t necessarily need anything it was nice to know that the building was manned. Security was ok but the front gate was constantly left open and the door through to the hotel was also open. I was a little concerned about being asked for a refundable deposit for a hotel stay as I’ve never had to do that before; we’re not in the habit of trashing our room. The curtain was coming off the rail so I reported this and was asked to provide a photo of it - I was concerned we would be charged for something we hadn’t done. We met two of the ladies from housekeeping who were both very nice. A special mention to the Welsh lady, I’m only sorry that we didn’t get her name, she was very helpful.

The check in procedure was fraught as I needed to revise the payment card registered with Expedia. This was not notified to me until an hour before arrival. Very stressful!! There is a Fire Escape green light on the bedroom ceiling which is very bright and stopped us sleeping!

We've stayed at the Beachcliffe several times, twice this year and really like it. On this occasion I chose a seaview room with king size bed as usual but ended up on the 3rd floor with no view whatsoever plus being in the attic and a warm day the room was boiling hot. I complained and dealt with a very helpful lady at the company who manage the property who confirmed she would move us down to floor 2 with a seaview. This duly happened the next morning with the help of a member of the cleaning crew. However the room had a double not king size bed so not ideal but much better than the night before. This hotel mostly manages to get the basics right and cleanliness is spot on but they use third party sellers who sometimes mess up some of the easy stuff such as info on the lockbox at the gate as happened this time and the first time we used the hotel. Given there are no reception staff it's frustrating to have to engage with this and needs tightening up please !

I had booked a sea view room, after being there previously in a courtyard facing room. Unfortunately they had booked us into a rear facing room which seemed to be for wheelchair access as the basin was very low an only a wet room type shower, when I rang to tell them (there is no one there just self check in ) they weren’t very helpful and said that Expedia had made the mistake and nothing they could do, I am still try to get a partial refund but not successful so far.

Appartment was comfortable and furnished nicely. Could have supplied more shower gels and shampoo; otherwise excellent. Gate is a bit noisy as everybody leaves it slam; sometimes a bit noisy at night. Beautiful setting with sea views. Very convenient location for getting to Penarth harbour, Sully. Found a few nice restaurants including the Captain's Wife in Sully a 10 minute drive from here and Mint and Mustard in Penarth.

It was an attractive, spacious, quiet, well-situated and well maintained property. Minor point, but it would have benefitted from some kind of table/shelf/flat surface in the bathroom to put one's washbag etc on.

I loved the Nook. Loads of space. Plenty of toiletries and tea and coffee. There was a bus not far away which takes you to Cardiff and Barry. Good restaurants close by. Romeo’s was our favourite. Loved our stay.

Staying for one night between Bluestone and home - and to visit Home, and this was the ideal location. We were very (pleasantly) surprised by the quality of the area, and the super accommodation. The view over the sea and Penarth pier makes it very special. The road is quite busy during the day, but the windows are effective at cutting out the noise. I suspect that parking would be very difficult during the summer, but we had no problem.

This is our second stay at the Beach life and we have family locally so it suits us. It's in a great position with seaview rooms ,(if you choose) literally across the road. There are no food services but a couple of cafes close by and a bar and restaurant underneath which he we haven't used but There's he fish and chips bar is very good ! There is no reception at all and entrance is self service, picking up keys from the box using an access number which is fine the second time, bit confusing the first time we were there so be prepared and ensure you get your email with access codes. The bed was very comfortable and everything in the room worked well, good size bathroom and shower worked well, loyd of hot water.overall a very good stay in a great location

It was absolutely beautiful. Right on the front and we had the hottest weather. Nice bar underneath where we sat and had a drink overlooking the sea and pier. Room was very hot though but we did have a big fan in the room. Nespresso machine was a big hit and the fridge with free water cooled. Absolutely loved our stay. Had a lovely chat with the cleaner. Lovely lady and very friendly.

Lovely large room overlooking the seafront . Spotlessly clean . No issues getting the key . A bit confusing to start with which way to go inside the building but it was fine. Pier just opposite for a nice stroll and cafe very good there

We stayed in December so was very quite and easy to park.The property was very clean. Decor was modern and bright. It was very cold outside but room was lovely and warm. Only disappointment which was nothing to do with the property was thar the cocktail bar downstairs closed very early

The hotel had a nice relaxed feel. The room was very comfortable and well stocked and the bathroom was excellent. We were in room 6 with nice views over Penarth pier. The restaurants and bars below did not disturb us at all as they closed by 11. The room was on the warm side but that is our only criticism
