Stayed 2 nights

A nice hotel , with friendly staff . The room was a little disappointing, there were no sockets by the bed , the hot water for the bath wasn’t hot , but was boiling in the sink . We had a humming noise which kept us awake at night, but the staff were helpful , and we managed to sort it out by our 2nd night . Only because the girl at reception slipped up and said they knew of it , and it was to do with the card you insert for electricity to the room ( room 307 ) .Anyway they did refund our money for the breakfasts for both mornings as a gesture of goodwill, after my partner prompted them . The breakfasts were ok if a little overcooked . The spa was lovely and relaxing after our 13 mile walk along the canal , it’s £10 for the 1st hour and £5 for an additional hour . It’s a nice easy walk into town less than 10 mins .

Review for The Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa – Saturday 6th May 2026 We had a wonderful stay at the Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa on Saturday 6th May and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the standard of cleanliness really stood out. Our room was spotless, and the same high standard continued throughout the entire hotel – everything felt fresh, well-maintained, and beautifully presented. The breakfast was absolutely AMAZING! The selection was excellent, everything was cooked to perfection, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. However, what really made our stay special was Mel on reception. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. Mel is the friendliest, most helpful person you could hope to meet – she was genuinely lovely to chat with and gave us brilliant recommendations of places to visit in the area. Her warmth and professionalism made a big difference to our experience. She is a real credit to the hotel and the whole team. We left feeling relaxed, well-rested, and very well looked after. Thank you Wild Pheasant – we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We booked a room with an accessible bathroom for two nights. There was no shower curtain when we arrived and we were told that ours was sent out for cleaning. Same story the second night and only offered us extra bath rugs to help sop up the excess water from the bathroom floor. They did not offer to allow us to shower in the hotel spa, but agreed only after we asked. There were hundreds of dead bugs on the window sill, which the housekeeper came up to remove. In the middle of the room there was a hole in the carpet. This was a very expensive hotel and spa that fell far below expectations and not worth the cost in our opinion.

Our overnight stay was delightful, lovely room overlooking the garden, excellent walk-in shower. A drink in the conservatory was very pleasant and dinner excellent. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Parking also very good.
