Hotel Ilha

Location was great. Little noisy at times. Could hear people on the street and in the hallways.

Our room was quite large, very walkable to the beach! Just wish the continental breakfast was a little better

The Hotel Illa is a good budget place in Angra. The rooms were cleaned each day and a good basic breakfast is provided. It is right in the heart of the Old town and close to the Marina. The staff were great! The negatives: No parking, needs some maintenance (peeling paint, rough closing doors etc) Can also be noisy in the mornings with pigeons and sliding furniture and banging doors. Still a good choice if you are not looking a 5*

Mold in first room and a mold smell, they moved me to another room that also had mold but I dealt with it because there was no smell. Very mediocre breakfast for the price they charge. Staff not very friendly and I didn’t feel the location was super safe as other people staying left the front door open late at night and I could hear men screaming in the lobby almost every night. Probably not great for solo travellers, in hindsight I would spend a bit more money to get a safer place.

Good location, many restaurants, good price.
