We had two double rooms with balconies for 3 nights. We traveled as two couples. Staff was welcoming and extremely attentive and helpful. We stored our luggage with them on both ends of the trip. Very accomodating with a late checkout. Happy hour daily 3p to 6p. Great location close to marina, shopping, and restaurants. They offered coffee and bakery items downstairs throughout the day. Clean and updated. We did not get breakfast or dinner there but did have drinks during happy hour. We would stay there again and highly recommend. We got bagels and donuts at DIEG Workshop a minute walk every morning after coffee at hotel. Try the Creme Brule donut .. it won't disappoint. Sky Lagoon was a favorite and fishing with Viggson Sailing for 3 hours. Don't hesitate to book this terrific hotel.

The location is great and the downstairs bar is excellent. The breakfast is good but a bit hit and miss with some items. Coffee is excellent! The basic rooms are very small, so if with two suitcases gets cramped. Staff is lovely.

The owners and staff are very personable, what you want from a small business. They care about their clientele and are accommodating. The hotel is quaint and has charm. The owner took time to remember my name. The owner and staff made great recommendations. I would recommend staying here when visiting. It is located near the center, but in a quieter part. They offer a continental breakfast and have a small gym. The restaurant fills fast in the evening. Wonderful boutique hotel!!!

Very nice and cosy hotel. The rooms are pretty small but nice. The bathroom is tiny but functional. The staff is really helpful and kind. Breakfast has great healthy and sweet options and is served with a smile. WiFi is great. Location is very good, close to restaurants and Harpa. You can park for free a few streets from the hotel, make sure to download the Parka app (it shows you which sites are pay zones). Suggestions for the hotel; a wiper in the bathroom and a towel rack.

The hotel is right in the middle of the downtown harbor district. It's very touristy, but you're about a block away from the tourist attractions so you don't have the noise from that. Parking is on-street and you have to pay for it, unless you want to drive a couple of (short residential) blocks east to find something. It's a converted residence, so check with the hotel if you have mobility issues. I was in room 104 and had to sit in the tub to use the shower because the ceiling was too low. Also, a task light over the built-in desk would have been helpful. Having said all of that, the staff is great, the breakfast was good and it was a great place to stay.

A very nice, new hotel that is part of/above a bar/restaurant. I just want to point out that there was no noise from the bar that I could hear (I was on the 4th floor). Aside from jarring elevator rides, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was almost new, I had a balcony and it was close to almost anything I wanted to do. For those who want to do puffin or whale tours, it's extremely close to the harbour. I usually stay in 2 or 3 star hotels when I travel and I have to say this is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in at that class. I definitely recommend this hotel for your next stay.

We did not find this hotel very functional. The room was extraordinarily tiny and the lighting was very poor. It was difficult to use the sink because it was so small and water went everywhere. Similarly, the shower water went everywhere, and the toilet was difficult to use because of its proximity to the shower. The equipment in the gym was substandard. Also, we wanted to have dinner in the hotel restaurant, but they were out of everything that we wanted. Fortunately, the breakfast was good and the staff was very nice.

Our only complaint about the room is there is no lip at the shower floor and the whole bathroom floor is wet after taking a shower. The lobby floor was a little dusty but everything else seemed clean and well-kept. One of their best assets is location - close to everything but on a quiet street. I would stay there again!

The pros: very clean, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful & the hotel itself was in good condition, a very comfy bed ! The cons: we booked the ‘small double’ and it was tiny - more suited to just one person. The sink was in the bedroom and the tap was too big for the sink so water would go everywhere when we used it, less than ideal. Needed somewhere to hang coats, ended up having to just dump on the floor… it was also very noisy, mainly from room above, very thin ceiling Overall not a baddd stay but wouldn’t book again

Nana was so welcoming, and went out of her way to offer us an upgrade after a last minute cancellation allowed her to offer us an upgrade from the basement to the 4th floor. She facilitated the change by actually coming to our initial room and then meeting us with the new keys on the 4th floor for the new room. Only negative was the fact that the water leaked under the shower doors and made rather a mess. But we would definitely come back! Very cozy, and nice that they offer a happy hour (although we arrived too late to take advantage of it. Thank you Nana!

Adequate for an overnight pit stop. Staff was excellent. Our room was small (but big enough) and somewhat awkward. It, along with one other room, was located in the building next door. The room came complete with not one but TWO tiny sinks. One (minuscule) was located appropriately in the bathroom and the other (very small) outside the bathroom. That said, we slept great and were very comfortable. The breakfast, served in the lobby… next door…was very nice. Perfectly fine, as I said, for our needs.

Very helpful staff. Stayed in one of the 2 rooms across the outdoor hall from the front desk. Quite small room, but for 2 nights it was fine. Wifi kicked out, especially the further from the door of the room. They could use a wifi extender in that part of the hotel, really good signal in the lounge/restauant. Happy hour drink specials, didn’t eat here. Lots of walkable restaurants and about 10 minutes to the rainbow street and lots of shops and cafes. Could use a fan in the bathroom as there was no ventilation after a shower.

The room is small and there is limited storage space but the bed was more comfortable than some 5 star hotels. The room was cleaned well and breakfast was good… it would be nice if they had changed the menu a little each day and if they had skyr. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay and the location was convenient. I would definitely return.

The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Joanna who gave us recommendations of Reykjavíks eating scene, bars and things to do. Overall, the comfort, location and included breakfast made this the perfect place to stay in Reykjavik.

Modern, clean and a decent size for European accommodations. The locally sourced breakfast was Amazing and we were sad to miss it our last day because of a very early flight. Staff was always kind and helpful if a little slow to get to things sometimes.

Excellent service. Excellent location. We had a very small room, although I knew that at booking. Nice updates. Shower was not usable. We were able to store our luggage ( not really secured but we don’t travel with valuables) and they provided an area to rearrange things and freshen up. Coffee was available in the room. While there was an electric kettle there were no supplies for it. Nice downtown area within walking distance yet in quiet neighborhood. We used link on hotel website for transportation

The owners and staff are very personable, what you want from a small business. They care about their clientele and are accommodating. The hotel is quaint and has charm. The owner took time to remember my name. The owner and staff made great recommendations. I would recommend staying here when visiting. It is located near the center, but in a quieter part. They offer a continental breakfast and have a small gym. The restaurant fills fast in the evening. Wonderful boutique hotel!!!

Nana was so welcoming, and went out of her way to offer us an upgrade after a last minute cancellation allowed her to offer us an upgrade from the basement to the 4th floor. She facilitated the change by actually coming to our initial room and then meeting us with the new keys on the 4th floor for the new room. Only negative was the fact that the water leaked under the shower doors and made rather a mess. But we would definitely come back! Very cozy, and nice that they offer a happy hour (although we arrived too late to take advantage of it. Thank you Nana!

Room was clean and modern. Bed was comfortable, and tap water also great to drink. Receptionist was really kind and helpful. He guided us with the parking in Iceland and also upgraded our room without asking. Hotel is located on a quiet street, but you are within walking distance of city center. I would definitely stay in Local 101 again :)

The location is great and the downstairs bar is excellent. The breakfast is good but a bit hit and miss with some items. Coffee is excellent! The basic rooms are very small, so if with two suitcases gets cramped. Staff is lovely.

The hotel is right in the middle of the downtown harbor district. It's very touristy, but you're about a block away from the tourist attractions so you don't have the noise from that. Parking is on-street and you have to pay for it, unless you want to drive a couple of (short residential) blocks east to find something. It's a converted residence, so check with the hotel if you have mobility issues. I was in room 104 and had to sit in the tub to use the shower because the ceiling was too low. Also, a task light over the built-in desk would have been helpful. Having said all of that, the staff is great, the breakfast was good and it was a great place to stay.

We stayed just one night at 101 Local since our tour started the next day. This is an excellent small hotel ideally situated for walking to downtown dining and harbor. The room we booked was very small but we did choose the cheapest option. Clean and functional with a popular dining and bar area. If staying for more nights, ensure your room size meets your needs.

Loved 101! Easy to park and then walkable to the Harp and harbor where we did a food tour and hit great places to eat. The staff at the hotel was very good and kept ahead of a bustling business.

Local 101 was a great stay! The rooms were efficiently designed and very fresh and new. The breakfast was nice and had a good variety of food. And the staff was very nice and accommodating. There is not a single bad thing to note.

Our room was small but perfectly formed! Great shower. The staff were friendly and helpful and even provided a breakfast to go bag when we had to leave early to catch our flight. The breakfast selection was fresh and tasy. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

This is such a cute new boutique hotel on a quiet side street near the harbour. It was a little bit more of a walk to city centre, but worth it if you have the time. Adorable and welcoming lounge/bar/restaurant area, awesome breakfast included each morning, very clean, quiet, and well designed. Staff was incredibly helpful and kind.

Very nice and cosy hotel. The rooms are pretty small but nice. The bathroom is tiny but functional. The staff is really helpful and kind. Breakfast has great healthy and sweet options and is served with a smile. WiFi is great. Location is very good, close to restaurants and Harpa. You can park for free a few streets from the hotel, make sure to download the Parka app (it shows you which sites are pay zones). Suggestions for the hotel; a wiper in the bathroom and a towel rack.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and everything went smoothly. My room was downstairs and although on the smaller side, it was perfect for one. The bathroom was excellent and the bed ever so comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, and both the drinks and small dishes at the bar/restaurant were tasty. I will stay there again.

We did not find this hotel very functional. The room was extraordinarily tiny and the lighting was very poor. It was difficult to use the sink because it was so small and water went everywhere. Similarly, the shower water went everywhere, and the toilet was difficult to use because of its proximity to the shower. The equipment in the gym was substandard. Also, we wanted to have dinner in the hotel restaurant, but they were out of everything that we wanted. Fortunately, the breakfast was good and the staff was very nice.

The staff was wonderful and the rooms were great. The issues I had was related to communication. Hotels.com stated offsite parking was available. I did not understand that they meant parking on the street and paying at the meter or parking for free a few blocks away in the neighborhood. Additionally, I was told that washers and dryers were available at the hotel.I did not realize this meant a laundry service as opposed to self service laundry. So when arriving in the afternoon and departing the next day, there was no opportunity to do laundry on-site.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Accommodation is comfortable and the bistro on the first floor is very good. The Staff are all friendly and helpful. I had what i thought was a dead phone and a gentleman at the front desk tracked a place where i could get it repaired. Staff did not tire of providing directions. Highly recommend!

The room was spotless, the blackout curtains impressive for the long summer nights. The staff was very courteous. The only issue I have is that I asked for 2 separate beds as I was traveling with my adult son. We got one bed that was like 2 mattresses together. We managed but really would have preferred that my request for 2 beds be honored. The room was not big enough for us to separate the mattresses. Lots of restaurants nearby and easy access to buses.
