Traveled to Sosua with my 10 year old daughter in December. We didn't want to stay in a resort so we could get the flavor for the culture and locals. I was a bit nervous due to the known night scene but I felt very safe at Casa Valeria. The owners were on site often and were wonderful. The pool was perfect in the evenings and after the beach. The restaurant was great. The made to order breakfast included was excellent! Our room was very nice and the staff overall was great. If you are in a room facing the street it can be a bit noisy with scooter/car traffic but it didn't bother us. The location of the hotel was perfect. Turn left 5 minute walk to Sosua Beach with was fun and lively and had a more local vibe (with people trying to sell you everything under the sun which could get annoying but you just have to firmly say no) and turn right out of the hotel 3 minute walk to Playa Alicia with was more chill and tourist feeling but with bigger waves/current. We did one excursion to Monkey Jungle and did the ziplining and monkey exhibit and it was great. Casa Valeria was an excellent choice and the cutest boutique hotel in the area if you are not wanted to stay at a big resort. Would definitely stay there again.

Cute hotel with very nice staff. However, did not like the location. They don't have parking so you have to park on the street and the streets did not seem safe. I was terrified we would not find the rental in one piece although they told us they had cameras surrounding the hotel. Our shower did not work and water took forever to drain. Hopefully they'll get it fixed before the next guest that stays in that room. They made a light attempt to fix it because the maintenance guy was not on duty. Finally, the security guy offered my husband to give us another room, which we appreciated but by then i was already in bed so we passed. Finally, if you're a light sleeper like me, don't stay there. You won't get much sleep. If you're single or like to party then not bad. I did love the fact that it is walking distance to the beach and many restaurant options nearby. Overall 3 out 5.

All in all I had a great stay. Staff was great, had evening /overnight security who did a great job, it’s located in a perfect area, entertainment, restaurants and the beach are all within walking distance. Only issue I had was that leaving the room I had to take the keycard out which turned off all power to the room, I understand it saves the complex money but it would have been nice coming into a nice cool room from being outside all day. I would definitely stay here again and plan on doing so next trip if rooms are available. I’d give it a solid 8/10 rating

Overall there were pros and cons to staying at this property. I cone to DR for the Dominican breakfast and tgey ran out of plantains. The pool was not kept up and dirty. The rooms bathrooms can use a makeover. Outside of that, the location is ideal, and super close to 2 beaches. The staff was very helpful but doubt I would stay here again.

Very clean place to stay. Staff was very nice and helpful. The bar/restaurant is FABULOUS. Best salmon I have ever eaten, and I eat a lot of salmon. Convenient location and access to two beaches. The pool is lovely and a nice place to sit in the morning or evening.

The hotel was ok but it wasnt as clean as i would like it. The sink and bathroom ( the entire room)was organized and dirty. I can tell they do their best but the dirt was old set into the furniture dirt.

I love this hotel! The staff are always friendly and accomodating. The grounds and rooms are kept clean and updated. The rooms have fans and A/C to combat the heat. Security is always present in the evenings and do a great job keeping the guests safe. The free breakfast is a plus. The quality of the towels could be improved but other than that, I have no complaints about this hotel.

Property is one of the nicer hotels in sosua. Very quiet and peaceful. Restaurant is good and the rooms have a minibar which charges reasonable prices. My only real complaint would be the WiFi didn’t work. I even went to the front desk and they couldn’t get it to work either. But it wasn’t a big deal really. Overall I would totally recommend

I visited Sosua for the first time in November. I'm an American who just made my third visit in four months. Each time I've stayed at a new hotel. This visit I stayed at Casa Valeria. I choose Casa Valeria because they had the best reviews. Like the other two places I stayed, I gave Casa Valeria 5 stars. If I'm being honest all three places were about the same quality with each having their own pros and cons. What I liked most about Casa Valeria were the larger showers, the drinks and snacks available for purchase in the room, a TV that actually got a couple channels, and I believe the room was a touch bigger and nicer than the other two hotels I stayed at. The cons were the frayed tint on the glass of the bathroom which did not allow for total privacy from any other guests in my room. Also, although the shower was bigger it didn't have a door and each time flooded the bathroom floor. Some type of divide on the floor, a super absorbent map, or even an extra floor towel would of been nice. The biggest thing I had a problem with was that I was never given a detailed printout of what I payed for. I trust it was correct, but an itemized list like most other places offer would of been appreciated. All in all nothing bothered me enough to give less than a 5-star rating. I would definitely vist again.

My flight got cancelled, so I went back to Casa Valeria and the lady at the front desk charged my a outrageous amount to stay one more day $300 us, and didn’t tell me it was going to be that much, as I had just stay there the previous 5 days on my booking with, Expedia, she also charged my for items from the mini bar I didn’t even eat or drink, she was very petty and I didn’t appreciate it, I wish that she would be address about her poor service, I stay at this hotel 4 in the last year, I was hoping for better service then that, I will NOT be going be the Casa Valeria again

Staying at Casa Valeria was an excellent experience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with warmth and the staff provided us with a free welcome drink. Our rooms were cleaned every day. The free breakfast was delicious and the dinners were even better. I definitely recommend Casa Valeria to visitors to Sosúa.

I didn’t like the treatment I received from one of the staff members her made self unwelcome when every I was around her and stay for 5 days, my flight got cancelled so I went back to Casa Valeria and she grossly overcharged me for my extra stay, I contacted the management and they said they would refund me but they never did, I was overcharged 316.62

I’ve been staying at this place for two years and I met the owner but surprisingly enough the guy switches my room to accommodate his visiting friends to a lesser smeller room. I get it, it’s ya friends you wanna look out for them but you’re so obvious about it. This people actually came into the lobby after I was told I needed to switch rooms. No reason given but it was apparent. I probably would have didn’t too but it still was bad for me, luckily for me I always stay at a much nicer place in caberte to sleep. That will be my last time staying there.

If you don't like the menu at the hotel's restaurant, you are about a 2-5-minute walk from a bunch of other restaurants and bars. A good, clean hotel with good service and a nice complimentary breakfast. Relatively quiet and a 5-minute walk to the beach. If you don't like the menu at the hotel's restaurant, you are about a 2-5-minute walk from a bunch of other restaurants and bars. This property deserved its high rating. Well maintained with an excellent location. However, it’s not for everyone. This is not particularly a family oriented hotel although I’m sure they would do a lovely job if a family decided to check in.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Quite a few spoke English which is great cuz my Spanish is awful. Walking distance to 2 beaches and all the restaurants on pedro clisante. Great place. My only complaint is my room needs a new shower head. Other than that, excellent

I love the Casa Valeria Hotel. I always stay here when possible. The staff is friendly yet professional. They are like family to me and I look forward to seeing them. I have been staying at the hotel since 2018. I have nothing but great things to say about the hotel. Nice clean rooms, safe environment, proximity to the beach and night life.

Cute hotel with very nice staff. However, did not like the location. They don't have parking so you have to park on the street and the streets did not seem safe. I was terrified we would not find the rental in one piece although they told us they had cameras surrounding the hotel. Our shower did not work and water took forever to drain. Hopefully they'll get it fixed before the next guest that stays in that room. They made a light attempt to fix it because the maintenance guy was not on duty. Finally, the security guy offered my husband to give us another room, which we appreciated but by then i was already in bed so we passed. Finally, if you're a light sleeper like me, don't stay there. You won't get much sleep. If you're single or like to party then not bad. I did love the fact that it is walking distance to the beach and many restaurant options nearby. Overall 3 out 5.

The cats were in the dining room too often; There is a time and place for animals not while I'm eating... Staff was very friendly but they all celebrated New Year's at the property with their families and lead to service of the guest being very slow and they helped themselves to the things that you were paying for... (Drinks and food was made faster as they went back to talk to the cook and bartender)

Staying at Casa Valeria was an excellent experience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with warmth and the staff provided us with a free welcome drink. Our rooms were cleaned every day. The free breakfast was delicious and the dinners were even better. I definitely recommend Casa Valeria to visitors to Sosúa.

Traveled to Sosua with my 10 year old daughter in December. We didn't want to stay in a resort so we could get the flavor for the culture and locals. I was a bit nervous due to the known night scene but I felt very safe at Casa Valeria. The owners were on site often and were wonderful. The pool was perfect in the evenings and after the beach. The restaurant was great. The made to order breakfast included was excellent! Our room was very nice and the staff overall was great. If you are in a room facing the street it can be a bit noisy with scooter/car traffic but it didn't bother us. The location of the hotel was perfect. Turn left 5 minute walk to Sosua Beach with was fun and lively and had a more local vibe (with people trying to sell you everything under the sun which could get annoying but you just have to firmly say no) and turn right out of the hotel 3 minute walk to Playa Alicia with was more chill and tourist feeling but with bigger waves/current. We did one excursion to Monkey Jungle and did the ziplining and monkey exhibit and it was great. Casa Valeria was an excellent choice and the cutest boutique hotel in the area if you are not wanted to stay at a big resort. Would definitely stay there again.

Overall there were pros and cons to staying at this property. I cone to DR for the Dominican breakfast and tgey ran out of plantains. The pool was not kept up and dirty. The rooms bathrooms can use a makeover. Outside of that, the location is ideal, and super close to 2 beaches. The staff was very helpful but doubt I would stay here again.

Room was small and very dated. Fridge/mini bar area came fully stocked with a decent price list. Mattress wasn’t great. Water pressure was excellent in the shower. Lovely room service, front desk, and restaurant staff. Great complimentary breaky.
