This boutique hotel was so nice. We stayed in a bungalow room off the pool. Super cute. Amenities were on point. Expresso maker, tea pot, nice glassware, carafe of water were great. Room decor was very nice and modern. Bedding, towels, and robes luxurious. Shower with rain head and hand sprayer so nice. Lighted mirror and lighted makeup mirror was a nice touch. We had a private sitting area outside our room that we loved. Staff was friendly and walked us to our room. Restaurant was delish. Had paella and scallops was delish and just as good, if not better than Girl and the Fig across the street. Very walkable. Several tasting rooms walkable. Plaza right across the street. We were lucky to see the night farmers market with live bands, street food, and vendors. Loved our stay. Would highly recommend.

Clean, lovely, comfy bed, friendly helpful staff. Conveniently Right on Sonoma square. Had breakfast at Hotel restaurant. Everyone in our party of 9 loved our breakfast. Only negative is no elevator…we were ok, but if anyone cannot manage stairs, they wouldn’t want to stay here. Because it’s a certified historical building, I guess this exempts them from having handicapped accommodations? Otherwise it was an excellent experience and we’d return.

Check in was friendly and easy, parking is free!!, restaurant is fabulous, and the room was very comfortable. Great they they have espresso machine, cold water, terrace, modern bathroom. Only complaint is it’s an old building without elevator and my bags were heavy.

The front desk staff went above and beyond to assure our stat was excellent. Elisa was so helpful with directions to the parking lot as well as with making sure our luggage was placed in our room by the time check in was available. We also received a welcome splash of rose wine and although we missed the happy hour event, we were offered a complimentary bottle of red wine. We love staying at El Dorado were are welcomed and treated like family. I look forward to staying there again soon.

Beautiful historic hotel with great amenities and gourmet food & beverages, in perfect central location across from the downtown square park. King size bed was super comfortable and the bathroom shower was awesome. We enjoyed the private pool all to ourselves.

No laundry options, our room smelled like beef tallow every night because it was right above the kitchen. They said there was a coffee bar, but it was never out. Everything around town closes around nine, including the kitchen. Staff fairly snobby.

This is a very nice older hotel located right on Sonoma Square. The rooms have been nicely remodeled. Bed was super comfortable and bathroom was quite large. There is a nice restaurant on site. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Only reason I did not give this gem of a hotel 5 stars was that they have an older HVAC system, and in our room, it was very loud. It kept waking us every time it kicked on. We expressed our dissatisfaction when we were checking out and the very nice person at the front desk explained about the old HVAC and said the hotel will be upgrading it in the near future.

There are no closets to hang clothes only a hook with a couple of hangars. If you are staying for multiple days, there is not a lot of space in the rooms to hang clothing items, shirts, dresses and jackets. Electrical outlets do no accommodate a modern traveler with phones, ipads, watches despite the room having a dedicated cube with several outlets to plug tech items into. Our room lost all power and we were told we had too many items plugged in at the same time.

The room was nicely designed and comfortable, it looked exactly like shown in the pictures but def a bit small but fine for our short stay. The restaurant is AWESOME, you won’t want to eat anywhere else. The only problem was that the walls are super thin. Our room was near the HVAC system so we had a lot of extra noise.

The hotel is great, the room was small but nice. My problem was I was given an upstairs room and they did not have an elevator. I hurt my leg and stairs have been a challenge. I was shocked that they did not have an elevator.

Pablo was upbeat and kind when we checked in. They offered early check in and kindly gave us an upgraded room because it was a less busy night. The property is clean, well upgraded and located so close to a lovely park and town square. There is a good dinnerhouse in the building and many other great restaurants within blocks. Fab location w parking Great hotel,!

The building is showing signs of age, but the staff could not have been more lovely and helpful. We had to change rooms because our HVAC stopped working, big shout out to all of the staff, but especially to Elisa, the daytime desk clerk. She and the other young Hispanic gentleman Working at the desk early in the day went far above and beyond. The hotel needs to give them a raise.

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. It is a historic hotel, being well over 100 years old, but is well kept and modern. We stayed in the second floor right next to the street, yet our room was still quiet, excluding garbage man. Pablo was the first person we met at check in. He was exceedingly pleasant, professional, helpful, and nice. A big walking smile and ball of positive energy. My wife and I have nothing bad to say about our stay. This is the likely choice of future Sonoma stays.

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. It is a historic hotel, being well over 100 years old, but is well kept and modern. We stayed in the second floor right next to the street, yet our room was still quiet, excluding garbage man. Pablo was the first person we met at check in. First time staying in the main square and we will definitely do it again. We loved the El Dorado and the very easy walking access to a number of restaurants. Lovely property. Excellent staff. Wonderful food in the restaurants. We enjoyed being in town at night and driving out of town to vineyards and the bora iCal gardens. Highly recommend.
