This property is nice and comfortable. Sadly, during my stay the swimming pools were under construction and on several occasions I was confronted with jack hammers and detours during the day; not disclosed when I was booking my stay. Regardless, the rooms are cute and the poolside service is good.

Very cute and unique bungalows! The staff were all very friendly, chi chi food and drink service at the pool was excellent. Loved that there were 2 adult only pools to enjoy. Massages at the spa were so wonderful!! Great location to walk the bars, restaurants and fun downtown has to offer.

overall it was a pretty good property. the fridge was not up to date , or at least our room. We asked about 2 times to get it fixed to be cooler , but remained warm. Valet parking was very slow , I had to go inside to ask for someone about 3 times during my stay.

We had a wonderful time at Avalon. The staff at this hotel is amazing. Accommodating, pleasant, professional. We used the hotel bikes for transportation and it was perfect. Pools were lovely.

I really wanted to like this property, but unfortunately it doesn't deliver. The main pool filter was broken with thousands of dead flies on the water surface. Reported it twice, no action. Bedroom doors have an inch gap at the base so it's very noisy. The sliders are old single pain and its noisy. The final day of our stay we had a do not disturb sign on our room, but the cleaner started banging on the door at 8:15... I pointed this out to her when I answered the door, but then she pretended to only speak Spanish. I get she wants us out she can clean the room for the next guest, but I'm a current paying guest??? I shred my frustration with the guy at reception and his response was "She's not in my department" No one asked me how my stay was when I checked out and we spent a ton of money on food and drink.

The pictures could not be more misleading. This hotel is super outdated, hotel beds are old and uncomfortable, and you can hear everything from outside. Our room had a terrible sewage smell, and our hotel shower would back up every time we used it. For $400/night it’s a total rip off. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

The Avalon was a pleasant surprise. Customer service was excellent. I loved our room decor and cleanliness. I really needed a quiet adult weekend and that’s what I got. The grounds are beautiful, well kept and scenic. It’s walking distance to down town. I would only say our bathroom was tiny. No counters space at all. And there is no closet to hang clothes.

The green part of the property was really beautiful as were all the outdoor amenities. However, the room definitely needs renovation as I’m sure they all do. Mid century is nice but a modern newer take would be so much better.We were upstairs in a suite. The floors were so slanting that I felt like I had vertigo walking around.

Very cute boutique hotel. We stayed in a suite and was surprised on how big it was - size of small apartment with full size fridge and kitchen area. Property is well maintained- although it is an older property. We stayed for relaxing pool time. Staff was great and food was good. One suggestion for improvement- toilet could use replacement for stronger flushing. It was very weak.

The resort was quaint and lovely. Beautiful grounds and pools in a garden environment. The service from the staff was outstanding. Room was a good size. It was very clean and comfortable. Furnishings are sparse and little worn but the bed was very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. Closet space was very small and there was no dresser so we had to leave most of our clothes in our suitcases.

Loved staying here. In town for a trade show and enjoyed staying here. Landscaping and grounds of property is stunning! Room was small but clean and cute. Loved the Netflix, apple tv, login on TV. Since here for work, felt a few issues like had to call for ice and couldn't go to ice machine. Didnt make clear on what Wifi was for working on laptop. But small issues, really lovely stay and staff is so kind. LOVED it all!

Can’t help the weather! But a very comfortable place to stay. The only slight let downs are the plumbing - the shower was a bit weak and connects to the bath taps so a bit difficult to adjust to the right temperature, when all you want to do it set it to where you want it and leave it there. No hot water in the bath sink. Odd, but perhaps in keeping with a period property.

Location - Fantastic. Close to shopping and dining Valet - Fantastic. Polite and timely Entrance - A mandatory sign is posted that notes about safety issues at the hotel, presumably linked to asbestos, with reference to risk of child defect, cancer, etc. I'm certain it is a safe place to stay, but the sign is not a good, comforting sign upon check-in. Staff- Fantastic. Friendly and helpful Room - updated, but old. No amount of paint and updates, takes away from the fact that the room was small, lack of closet or shelving space to unpack a suitcase, bathrooms without ventilation or functioning window. The sound insulation was horrible and I could hear the guest upstairs and next door at all hours of the night.

Lovely grounds but our room was nothing like the photos on line. We were out in a dark musty room in the back of the property- with barely a window. The shower was plastic. Walls super thin. I’m sure the bungalows are much nicer but the basic rooms were not worth the price. Pool attendees were so nice!! Yoga teacher was awesome 😎

Yeah, I would say nice try but that is not the case. The Avalon puts its name on classic mid sixties Palm Springs building, charges a high price and calls it a day. The bathroom is like something from a Motel 6: Old tub/shower, mean towels. My room rate was $299. plus all the other fees. I could not find the switch to turn off the patio/balcony light and the front desk explained they could send someone up to unscrew the lightbulb. The lighting in the room comprises solely of 2 hanging pendants by the bed. No other lighting except a ceiling light at the entryway.

Beautiful grounds, great staff, quality guests who can afford the prices. Very walkable to all the restaurants. My room itself wasn't the greatest. It looked like a remodeled apartment with aged amenities like the shower, no counter space. Mostly paid for the pool and lounging facilities. I feel. Overall 8 out of 10

The shower in our room was very small and subpar in terms of the standard of this hotel. A friend of ours who stayed at the hotel the same time we did was in a bungalow room and it was far superior to our room which was in the main building of the hotel.

The rooms were just ok with minimal furnishings in one case no closet to speak of and just bland and mediocre in general. In both locations both rooms were incredibly noisy and no care was taken to reduce the amount of noise caused by other guests or staff. The value for the money paid was kind of appalling considering that from a base price of about $400 for a very basic room it rose to $500 with taxes, surcharges etc etc Not an experience we’d like to repeat

Peaceful relaxing place, the waiter at the restaurant charged us $15 for 2 house coffee at 8am to find out from the other waiter that we could get a complimentary house coffee by ourselves which wasn’t a difficult task for us to do however this kind of a sneaky service makes us to be cautious about everything else around the property and that is something that is taking away a full enjoyment that you could get even though everyone is nice at the property but one experience like this changes the atmosphere quickly

Front desk was amazing and the property is so quaint and sleek. The staff also have our son food to feed their coi fish and have us complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival! Then they delivered complimentary champagne. Place felt like a home away from home. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a wonderful, clean property with some of the best drinks I had during my time in Palm Springs. All the cocktails are made fresh to order, not premade, and the bartenders are highly skilled. The location is also very convenient, being close to the main strip. The room I stayed in was nice, though a bit small. As a Platinum Expedia member, I requested my complimentary upgrade but was informed that no upgrades were available during my stay. Unfortunately, towards the end of my visit, the water in my room was turned off due to waterline issues, and I was moved to a one-bedroom suite. While I appreciated the upgrade, I wish my platinum upgrade would have been honored upon check in to avoid the inconvenience of being without water for hours and having to pack up and move rooms. overall this is a great place to stay and I did enjoy my time at the Avalon Hotel :)

We always have a wonderful time at The Avalon Hotel and Bungalows. We come from the Central Valley to Palm Springs a few times a year and always stay at the Avalon if possible. It is the quintessential Palm Springs hotel. Over the years we’ve tried other places, but always come back here due to the wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, and epic Mountain View’s from the property, which sits right at the base of the mountain. In addition to providing magnificent views, the property is centrally located in Downtown Palm Springs. Shopping, dining, museums and nightlife are all within walking distance of the hotel.

Love the chill, cool vibe of the property and bungalows. Some of the room/building aspects are a tiny bit dated, but really cool and friendly staff. I asked for a few things and they delivered with a smile, immediately. Also, there is on-site valet parking. From this property you can walk to downtown restaurants, the Palm Springs Art Museum, Taquitz Canyon trailhead and shopping, or easily grab Uber/Lyft. I will definitely stay here again.

We loved the location and the property. Our room was fantastic and was like having our own apartment in Palm Springs. Denise checked us in and was very professional, friendly and steered us to chi chis pool area dining for food while we waited for our room to be finished. The food was great. We especially loved the açaí bowl and fish tacos. The weather was a little cooler so we utilized the hot tubs but the pools looked lovely. The staff was awesome there and very friendly. Denise gave me some fish food so I could feed their beautiful koi. Small thing but it made me feel special and happy. I loved Palm Springs and I know it had very much to do with our stay. We had considered another place which we did end up visiting to gamble but feel so grateful we picked the Avalon. It was such a lovely stay and I hope to come back.

The Avalon grounds and style are charming and have an old world feeling. We were upgraded unexpectedly which was very nice! The hotel is located one block off of the main street of Palm Springs which made for nice walks for dinner, breakfast, shopping, etc. We used the bikes and wandered the neighborhoods too as well had several lounge days by the beautiful pools. It is staffed by the friendliest group of people. We stayed for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It's a little on the expensive side including the restaurant.

Stayed at Avalon after doing tons of research on where to stay for a solo trip and it exceeded my expectations! I felt super comfortable being there as a woman traveling alone, and being so close to downtown made exploring, even at night, easy. The hotel is really cute and my room was thoughtfully updated. I loved having multiple pools to hang out at and the gym was really nice too! The staff was really attentive and kind. The food and drinks were good too. Highly recommend staying here!
