Highly recommended, the staff was amazing, the property was amazing, and the facilities and being pet friendly also amazing was booked as an overnight stay after a long journey from the Dominican Republic via Madrid, Paris, and then the Channel Tunnel before a very long drive north to Scotland. The room was so comfortable, the restaurant 1st class and the value for money that included a wonderful breakfast was perfect. 15 minutes from the Channel tunnel so perfect for those who are traveling either way before continuing their journey. Loved it. The staff were amazing..

Booked Marquis as we had heard good things & wanted a short post-Christmas break, we were not disappointed. The property, staff & food were excellent. We did not venture outside the hotel but know Deal well & went there first to walk the dog on the beach, the Marquis is c.20 minutes by car. Fabulous relaxed stay & we will come back in the summer to try out their terrace.

The Marquis of Granby is a gem of a find for anybody. In a secluded valley yet little distance for the tunnel and ferry link. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has great character. The food was excellent with varied choices for all. As for the staff I could not speak more highly of them. From the manager to bar staff they were helpful and accommodating with a friendly manner which makes you feel relaxed and at ease. Equally as I was travelling with a dog they were quick to offer water for her. I have already recommended it to several of my friends as a must if in the area. I look forward to staying there again. A big thank you to the staff.

Place is amazing, real fire in the lounges on a cold day was so inviting. staff were fantastic, rooms were remarkable and clean. Shower/bath was so relaxing. Food was very nice. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again when down this way. Thank You

a super experience, bar and restaurant were very good, I took advantage of the happy hour at the bar, restaurant food on the expensive side but pretty good. the room was comfortable but did not like the double wash basins in the room.

After driving from Le Mans and a Ferry from Calais this hotel was just what we needed. Such a beautiful building decorated and furnished perfectly. Although not having a disability we stayed in the room adapted for disabled people. Having previously been in the caring profession I couldn't see anything that could be improved. The fittings did not hamper me or my partner who are able bodied. The room was warm and welcome tea/coffee kettle etc. in the room. Breakfast was delicious and choices available. It was very well presented. Ashley and his team were friendly and professionally efficient. Would recommend and want to visit for a longer time.

What a fantastic place! The hotel was in a great location and very close to Dover and the Castle by cab. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and contained beautiful decorations. The staff were super nice and helpful. The restaurant was amazing, delicious food, very attentive service and great drinks! It felt like home! We will definitely be back.

The room was spacious, well appointed, airconditioned, and no shortage of tea, coffee, and spring water. Ultra clean en-suite, and a bed that hugged you when you were ready for lights out. The food was amazing, cooked so that the flavours hit your taste buds, with plenty of choices on a 'cant make my mind up what to choose' menu.Recommended for a stop over, or definitely an evening meal if you dont have the time to stay and sample the open fire and the friendly service.

This is an amazing hotel, we absolutely loved our stay here and highly recommend it to anyone. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately, we didnt get to try dinner as we were attending a wedding in the area. The room was wonderful, very spacious, clean and comfortable. We'd love to come and stay again sometime. Kind, relaxed hosting from every member of the team, and especially welcoming to my dog! Dinner was sublime, and breakfast was generous and delicious. Cherry on the cake was the indulgently deep copper soaking bath. A great find, one to return to again and again.

The adjoining room walls were not soundproofed. The guests in the next room spoke very loudly after 10:30pm. I had to put a pillow over my ears to block out their conversation. Otherwise, the room was clean & the bed was comfortable. However, the Kitchen extractor fan was below our room & quite noisy when in operation.

Our holiday via the shuttle got off to a bad start as we had to return home 3 hours into the journey to collect a forgotten vital item. Consequently we arrived at the Marquis of Granby (via a typical M25 traffic snarl up) after the kitchen had closed down for the night. Without being prompted, we were offered soup and cheese board by Silva (the manager). Beer was good and bar staff cheerful. Excellent all round.

We stayed 3 nights, eating in each night. It is a really lovely establishment which has exceptional food and wonderful attentive staff. The full English breakfast is very good quality food cooked to a high standard, served by very friendly staff, perfect way to start your day! The evening meals carried on with quality food and cooking. Special mention here to Sam & Emily for exceptional service, smiles and making our anniversary special.

We don't have a bad word to say about this beautiful place. From the friendly attentive (but not in your face) staff to the delicious food, lovely decor and well thought out rooms. This was a last minute spur of the moment decision for us as we were visiting a friend, and it was possibly the most relaxed night away we have ever had. And all for the most reasonable price ever. Even the locals in the bar were lovely!

We only stayed for one night as catching a ferry early in the morning, we were leaving before breakfast so they kindly made us food to take with us. Overall the staff the Room and food were all excellent. Would 100% stay again.

The food was excellent with varied choices for all. As for the staff I could not speak more highly of them. From the manager to bar staff they were helpful and accommodating with a friendly manner which makes you feel relaxed and at ease. Equally as I was travelling with a dog they were quick to offer water for her. I have already recommended it to several of my friends as a must if in the area. I look forward to staying there again. The Marquis of Granby is a gem of a find for anybody. In a secluded valley yet little distance for the tunnel and ferry link. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has great character. We had a glorious stay here. The hotel room was gorgeous. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The area is gorgeous too! Can’t recommend it enough. Our dog Ralph absolutely adored it (especially as he got treats from the staff). We had a truly lovely stay here and will definitely be coming back.

What a fantastic place! The hotel was in a great location and very close to Dover and the Castle by cab. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and contained beautiful decorations. The staff were super nice and helpful. The restaurant was amazing, delicious food, very attentive service and great drinks! It felt like home! We will definitely be back.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels and B&Bs around the world. This is without question the best experience I've had. The food is phenomenal, from a delicious Sunday roast and breakfast to seriously impressive desserts. The dining room is beautiful and cosy. The service is equally exceptional - every single person who works here is lovely. The bedroom my partner and I shared was beautiful, and truly unique. There were lots of pleasant surprises, and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, what a fantastic way to spend a day trip! We will be returning.
