Grands Suites Hotel and Spa Sliema

Excellent hotel , with great facilities, a lovely indoor swimming pool with spa area , steam room , sauna and treatment rooms with complimentary towels or robes , staff were very friendly. Also a nice rooftop pool with stunning views over to Valletta. A nice little cafe in the reception area with indoor and outdoor seating. A rooftop restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating , lovely buffet breakfast, which we only had the once , as we preferred the little cafe downstairs, which had nice coffee and food with great hospitality, the young lads were very welcoming and friendly, a credit to the hotel . The hotel was immaculately clean and always smelt nice in the corridors, and was kept clean by Hilda , the robotic cleaner . The rooms were very spacious, with a little kitchen area and the bathroom had a lovely spacious shower . The only criticism would be that the room service with clean towels , toilet rolls , tea bags and milk was a little too early at 9am every morning. Overall we had an excellent stay , and the New Year’s Eve meal in the rooftop restaurant was simply amazing and being able to see the fireworks display over Valletta was an amazing way to bring in the new year. Will definitely stay at this hotel if ever we are back in Malta .

Absolutely fab hotel in terms of facilities, size of room and the pool and spa areas. Also a great location in Gzira, minites walk from the promenade and the food in the rooftop restaurant is fantastic. Our one major complaint was that the sound insulation is poor - we were woken everyday between 6.30am and 7.15am by loud banging coming from the restaurant in the hotel right above us as they set up for breakfaat (we were on the 10th floor). If staying here, look for a different floor or if you are an early riser, you will be fine. Could hear no noise from outside which was great as roadworks and building were going on beside the hotel. However the insulation against noise coming from the floor above was quite poor. We had broken sleep throughout the week long stay as a result (a shame as the beds are super comfy and the room gets blackout dark).

Very good spot, staff, and facilities. I did book with you for hot tub, which was not in operation through my stay, (though the pool area was a nice substitute.)Since it is apparently off all winter, I suggest an online clarification. Thanks!

The good points are; - There were two laundry machines on each floor and free to use. - The suites have all the necessary cutlery in the kitchen. - Towels were exchanged every day. - The room and facilities are quite new and clean. We didn't like; - The area is noisy at weekends till late at night.

Good apartments. Clean, modern, adequately equipped for simple cooking. Nice pool on roof, plus down stairs pool and good gym by hotel standards. Only complaints were that by end of week 2 out or 3 elevators were out of service which made going in and down slow. Roof bar was more expensive than bars on bays which was a shame. Were in back facing room with balcony overlooking tatty apartment buildings, next time I would defo try and upgrade to sea facing room on upper levels.

Well located hotel with great indoor and rooftop outdoor pool, overlooking Sliema, Inland and Valetta. Rooms spacy and well-equipped gym. Fully recommend.

We were given a room under the restaurant, which was very noisy from 6.30am. We asked to change room which the hotel sorted out by the afternoon. Parking is 15 euros a night. You can try and park on the road but the area is quite busy. Overall, a nice hotel but can be quite nosy so might not be the best choice if you want a quiet stay

Superb staff, great location, very clean but a terrible gym! If you're keen to workout be aware you'll hit the ceiling/pipes doing a shoulder press, other than the gym, the hotel is great! If i return, i'd definitely get a good view, the cheaper ootions face backyards etc & puts you off the use of the balcony. Overall a very good hotel.

We booked a studio suite so had a kitchen (incl kettle, microwave, oven, fridge/freezer etc) so we were able to eat in or out. Ideally placed - 5 minutes walk from a few bus stops. Into Valetta in 15 minutes. Can travel all over the island easily. Recommend the bus card (unlimited journeys for 7 days) Plus fast ferry to Gozo. Pools you have choice of the roof (amazing views up there or the indoor pool and spa. Yes, I know a few reviews have stated they can hear noise, we could (seems to be via doors, especially banging doors) but this wasn’t enough to detract from our stay or remove a star. One of the best hotels have stayed in! Must visits are Mdina (Knights and Mdina Experience), Valetta (Lascaris War Rooms, Upper Barrakka, Saluting Battery, Monestery with secret garden, The Malta Experience)

The room was wonderful, comfortable and roomy. The only thing that was unexpected was that cleaning of the rooms was only done every four days, not something I’ve ever experienced at other hotels.

Well appointed room in a good location c10 minutes walk from the centre of Sliema. Friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Good rooftop pool and bar area. Breakfast pretty ordinary for €15. Only other negative was having to chase every day for fresh towels and toilet paper!!

Sehr schönes Hotel. Tolle Dachterrasse mit schöner Poolanlage, Bar mit guten Angeboten und nettem Service. Insgesamt ist das Personal eher unfreundlich/überfordert, spricht schlecht Englisch. Unser Zimmer wurde in 8 Tagen kein einziges Mal gereinigt, auch nicht nach Nachfrage. Am letzten Abend wurde es mit dem Manager geklärt, war dann jedoch schon zu spät.

The room was spacious, spotless, had an issue the basin, it was instantly fixed. Nice spa facilities. I enjoyed my stay and I will go back again.

Nice Hotel. Everything was fine except for the party going on at the rooftop pool well into the night also didn’t care for the fact that cleaning staff cleans rooms once every five days. Other than that, good place to stay.

L'hotel si presenta in maniera ottima, tutto nuovo e moderno. Alla reception personale cortese ed efficiente. Bella piscina a tetto, e buona spa con piscina al coperto. Unica nota negativa, il personale delle pulizie, non faceva il proprio lavoro, nessuna pulizia,.letto non rifatto, cambio asciugamani inesistente. Dopo 2 giorni tramite la reception abbiamo avuto un cambio parziale degli asciugamani. L'organizzazione della pulizia è da rivedere. Comunque lo consiglio anche per la buona posizione vicino il lungomare.

Everything was 10/10. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Although towels were changed id have liked the room floors to have been hoovered. Balcony table was not cleaned. I would stay again but email my preferences for cleaning beforehand.

The room was not ever cleaned properly. They have a system where they clean after 4(!!!!) days and everyday they just collect garbage and towels if needed, which would be ok and eco-friendly if they actually cleaned on the fourth day, but the floor was filthy even after that !

Had a very comfortable and relaxing stay, would highly recommend the family suite, very spacious and clean. Things to note, they don't provide housekeeping which didn't bother us but could be a deal breaker for some. They do change towels and take out the trash every morning if you want. We couldn't find the infinity pool and hot tubs until the last day, they're on the 11th floor, to the left side of the lifts. We were there over Christmas and the pool was freezing cold so we couldn't have used it anyway. They gave us two towel vouchers for the indoor pool (we were 4 ppl staying for 3 nights). My husband and son went there the first evening and said the water was not warm and they didn't enjoy it so we didn't ask any further about how to get more vouchers in case all of us wanted to go each day. Otherwise extremely clean and comfy hotel. Beds and pillows were perfect for all of us. I got a massage treatment at the spa and it was amazing. All staff were very professional and helpful. The only downside for me was the breakfast. I didn't pay for it when booking based on other reviews here but when we checked in there was a special offer so I took it and regretted it every single day. Very disappointing menu. The scrambled eggs smell so bad and made my teeth stick together, it was disgusting. Coffee was really bland and not strong at all. It was the exact same menu all 3 days with no variation. It really was terrible and will make me think twice before booking here again.

A surprisingly large room in perfect condition. Located just ten minute walk from seaside action. Only two negative items to mention: there seems no sound insulation between rooms so every bump and shout sounds as if it is in our room…and please reload the coffee pods daily.

The property was very nice. We were on the 8th floor and had a Junior Suite with a sea view.although it says 2 rooms the divider between the rooms is actually the wardrobes and there is a gap above these and if you open the middle sliding doors you can see right into the second room. This meant that light in one room would illuminate the other and conversations could easily be heard, however is was still much better than all sharing a single hotel room as we had a seating area and kitchen area and a balcony so had plenty of room to spread out. There were 2 swimming pools, the one on the roof was a particularly nice infinity pool with gorgeous views over the harbour. We did try it but it was a bit early in the season for swimming so was quite chilly! We didnt try the other pool or the gymbut this was because we were only there for a week and kept busy with days out etc. We paid for breakfast for the whole week on arrival as they had a special offer (for some reason we didnt get the option to pay when booking the trip but we had allocated the funds already as we love a buffet breakfast.) Breakfast was servedon the top floor and there was a good selection of cooked breakfast and continental offerings along with some Maltese specialties. The selection changed from day to day so there was good variety. The staff was very helpful and friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

Good new hotel. Good location in Sliema. Nice roof top wimming pool and indoor swimming pool and sauna and spa. Breakfast ok. Very nice room decoration. Top people at reception, especially an italian girl, speaking excellent french (sorry I did not remember her name), she was really customer-oriented and helpful. Only negative point: the soundproofing between the rooms and between the room and the landing is very poor. A shame for a brand new hotel!

Wanted to stay in an hotel with kitchen. Very pleased with the amendeties. Fresh and modern. Comfy bed. If something on the negative side the sound-isolation to the outside was not so good. Though calm area and hotel, so not a big issue. I would stay here again!

Nice, modern property. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but the balcony view of the street is noisy, and there was no coffee maker in the 'full kitchen'. Outdoor pool area had plenty of loungers and a bar area to to get drinks. Staff was very helpful. We did not eat at the hotel, but the cafe on the ground floor and the restaurant on the top floor looked nice.

Very nice hotel with great staff. Roof top pool area/bar area/sun lounging/views is top class. BUT….the hotel is built in a square, round an inner “courtyard” - trouble being the inner area is small and 11 stories high, which makes the rooms with windows all looking into this courtyard, dismal and hugely lacking in light unless you are in the top two floors. The rooms are shades of grey/industrial decor, and this lack of light simply accentuates a grey/depressive feel in the room…..having small balconies looking out on the “inner sanctum” was 100%pointless unless you were a smoker wanting to stare at walls with huge metal pipes (air conditioning)? The “courtyard” wasn’t developed into a seating area but was simply left for whst we could make out as being for storage. If given an Inner facing room below levels 8-10 ? AVOID as certain levels yoi only see the sky if leaning right over the rail and looking up vertically

The hotel is ideally located to explore the island, being on a main bus route to Valletta (easy!) and nothing is far by rental car. The hotel has secure underground parking (€15/night) which we used for the first night…but were able to find free on-street spaces the rest of the time. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with a nice balcony to enjoy the evening sun. Rest of the facilities were as advertised and we enjoyed our stay.

I had a great 12 night stay in my studio with kitchenette, hotel has confortable beds and wonderful comforters. Breathtaking views from roof terrace with incredible infinity pool. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager James and at reception, Marina was kind enough to help me with my taxi arrangements to the airport.

Great hotel! The rooftop was amazing, and the large family suite was perfect for our needs. Amazing views. I had however expected better cleaning (mainly refilling supplies) and better help with taxis/excursions from the reception. Kind and friendly staff though!

We stayed here for over a week and have nothing to complain about. The 24/7 staff where great to deal with, any issues we had where sorted promptly and effectively. The staff throughout the stay where patient with us, gave us all the information we wanted about hotel facilities. The room was as described, very clean, spacious and the cleaning staff where amazing. I definitely recommend the hotel to anyone thinking about it.

The property advertised parking at a charge, this charge is 15 EUR a day which coincidentally is the same price as breakfast.... It seems extortionate for parking, we had to pay it as the car was a rental car and the area did not seem particularly safe. The area is ok but I wouldn't walk alone or at night, it is also by a busy road and views are distorted with roofs of other buildings. We were not overly happy with the parking charge and the staff at check in as the staff member was a bit rushed and rude, I submitted feedback that Expedia requested and got a call from the front office manager who suggested a room change (upgrade) my main issue was the price of parking and the staff attitude but the FO manager seemed to only have one solution of upgrading the room for free (which in reality isn't really solving my issue). Having worked in hospitality before I would have first spoke with the guests offered them a free drink and discussed the issue at hand before offering a solution and tried to tailor a solution to their specific complaint. Having said that the rooms are stylish and new, a few minor details would make this a bit more luxurious, the plastic bins in the toilet, the kettles seem cheap, the spare pillows don't have pillow cases and look discoloured. No sign not to drink tap water (healthy and safety concern) you can see a shabby staff room when entering the car park. It felt like a property that was trying to be 5 star on a budget.

Very pleased with Grands Suites. Modern hotel, spacious rooms, and terrific location. Easy to get to all parts of the island, and plenty of food choices within 5 minutes by the water. Not as crowded as other tourist areas.

Beautiful place (new, clean, super rooftop pool, excellent view) and best place to be near and go to Valletta by bus or ferry. There are many buses at like 4 minutes walk and they are super easy and on time. The main street that begins near the hotel and that go towards Sliema is great at night, many shops and restaurants by the water/harbour.

Parking around this area is a nightmare and the charges to park at the hotel is outrageous.

The hotel and the staff are great. The rooftop pool area had everything: plenty of sunloungers, nice pool, fantastic view of the bay, bar serving food and drinks at reasonable prices, jacuzzis, changing rooms and clean toilets. Our room was modern and spacious. Bathroom and the shower were excellent and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only issue we had with our stay was the building work on a neighbouring building and the roadworks at the front of the hotel. I appreciate these are both not in the control of the hotel, but it did impact our stay due to the noise and vibrations of this work throughout the day. We were woken up at 8am each day and it made being in the rooms unpleasant when the work was happening. To finish on a positive, the location of the hotel is great.

The hotel is lovely but the area around it is not so pleasant. The room is large and comfortable with the benefit of a small kitchenette. The view from the balcony is overlooking the back of houses so not inviting

Séjour au top, l’emplacement est idéal, la vue sur la baie est magnifique. Rooftop sublime, nourriture idem juste une meilleure insonorisation des chambres pour que ce soit parfait. Je recommande à 1000%

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer und das Hotel ist wirklich schön und recht edel eingerichtet. Das Frühstück hat uns leider überhaupt nicht zugesagt. Insbesondere der Kaffee muss verbessert werden. Der Poolbereich ist leider etwas klein und bietet nicht genug Platz für die Hotelgäste. Es gibt am Pool Daybeds, die jedoch für Extrakosten gemietet werden müssen. Da der Platz insgesamt begrenzt ist und nicht sehr viel Schatten vorhanden ist, ist das nicht verständlich. Insgesamt sind wir mit unserem Aufenthalt durchaus zufrieden. Zur Gesamt-Erholung fehlte es uns jedoch an einem guten Frühstück und einer schöneren Poollandschaft.

Hotel veramente fantastico, nuovo, con tutti i servizi di piscina e spa ad uso gratuito per chi soggiorna. Pulito, con tutti i comfort e anche il ristorante della piscina molto buono. Davvero ottima esperienza

Hotel agréable, éviter le 10 eme étage la salle du petit-déjeuner est au dessus et beaucoup de bruit de table et chaise tres tôt..... Le petit-déjeuner n'est pas a la hauteur.....

Things to note, they don't provide housekeeping which didn't bother us but could be a deal breaker for some. They do change towels and take out the trash every morning if you want. We couldn't find the infinity pool and hot tubs until the last day, they're on the 11th floor, to the left side of the lifts. We were there over Christmas and the pool was freezing cold so we couldn't have used it anyway. They gave us two towel vouchers for the indoor pool (we were 4 ppl staying for 3 nights). My husband and son went there the first evening and said the water was not warm and they didn't enjoy it so we didn't ask any further about how to get more vouchers in case all of us wanted to go each day. Otherwise extremely clean and comfy hotel. Beds and pillows were perfect for all of us. I got a massage treatment at the spa and it was amazing. All staff were very professional and helpful. The only downside for me was the breakfast. I didn't pay for it when booking based on other reviews here but when we checked in there was a special offer so I took it and regretted it every single day. Very disappointing menu. The scrambled eggs smell so bad and made my teeth stick together, it was disgusting. Coffee was really bland and not strong at all. It was the exact same menu all 3 days with no variation. It really was terrible and will make me think twice before booking here again.

Great stay, excellent apartment set up so able to do our own thing. Lovely rooftop pool and bar. A shame the restaurant was not open at an evening time but think that was due to time of year. Everything else, fab.
