Silver Spur Vintage Inn & Suites

Room was a good size with parking just outside the door. Walk to main business area about 1/4 mile. Immediate area is dominated by main highway, with businesses that cater to cars vs walking.

The parking lot looks a little rough, and this is an older building, so do not expect everything to be in perfect condition. Having said that, the staff is pleasant, the room is huge, and reasonably priced. This was our second stay, and we will use this motel again if we go back to Dodge City.

I truly appreciated the option of laundry areas available. The staff were very knowledgeable about the area, and very willing to share information.

No breakfast and no good walk-to restaurants nearby. No ice. I was told they ordered a new ice machine the previous week.

Very unsafe oarking lot. All tore up with deep holes a couple feet. Doors didnt close completely. Dirty.inside and outside...very outdated..paint chipping..light switches dirty. Not anything like the photos

Staff was very courteous. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom plumbing needed work. It’s in a noisy location but very convenient to many restaurants and fast food options. Parking was ample and getting in and out was a breeze.

Property was Vintage (Older) Grounds and rooms were clean Asphalt parking area needing work Hotel was close to shopping and restaurants Mgr was extremely nice. Good value for the money.

Overall, our stay was satisfactory. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and Darla was very accommodating. And a refrigerator in room with microwave is always convenient and appreciated. The ice machine was broke, but Darla referred us to a close-by store where we could get a bag of ice. The hot water in our shower was inoperable, and Darla immediately gave us a key to a nearby room to use, and it was very nice. Dodge City was a little disappointing in that there were few nice places to eat, but we were able to get late reservations at the Cowboy Capital, and it was fabulous.

It is a vintage hotel but very clean and quiet. Check in was very friendly and location was very convenient. Large room and comfortable bed.

I had not been to Kansas for many years, the Silver Spur always held fond memories. To my dismay the condition of the hotel was not in good condition. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I was very disappointed that I only received maid service (ie fresh bed linens) once during my 5 night visit. The room smelled musty, there were several things about the room that didn’t live up to the cost a night price. Regards

Place dety and rooms stink, not good at all

We were traveling and needed a place to stay for the night. The room appeared clean but there was a weird smell, especially in the bathroom. We also did not like parking behind the building. The walls seemed very thin and we were able to hear everything from traffic to people outside our room. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the greatest night of rest for us. There was not someone at the desk 24/7 so check out was a bit confusing for us as well but we figured it out.

Check in was a breeze. Front desk was super friendly. Room was very clean. A little dated but so are we. The beds were very comfortable.

Cockroaches in the rooms

Older motel. Rooms in need of an update. Bed and covers were clean but bed was uncomfortable. After checking out, as we were walking to the car my wife spotted a cockroach on the window inside the room next to ours

The shower drain was pluged. You had to stand in mid calf water. So gross. Tv never worked. Front desk lady said she would not give us any money off bill. Said we could have told her so she could fix it. But you really aren't going to get out of shower and wait for a fix. The damage is already done.We didnt have time for that. It was a gross place to stay.

The place was nice and clean. Bathrooms are huge. The only problem was loud traffic on Friday night but that is just due to location which is pretty convenient for everything else. The staff was great. I would stay here again.

Cleanliness was good. My only issue was the AC stopped working after 20 minutes after turning it on. When it was on it was super loud. Front desk lady was very nice. Being right next to main road it was a little loud at times. Overall not terrible but not good.

Darla the manager was extremely pleasant and had dining recommendations that proved to be outstanding! Couldn’t have been more pleased with the price and the room.

Checked in and the owner/clerk wanted to put us in a smoking room. Said “it hadn’t been smoked in much. Did change to standard room. Reasonably clean and bed was comfortable. Turned on the tv at bedtime and no signal… turned on the heater and it sounds fed like it was going to launch. We decided to risk being cool. Didn’t contact the office since we just had a cell phone number and I figured I’d pass it on at checkout. Office still closed at 8:20??

Darla is an asset to the property. Coffee pot was not working in room and she was good enough to bring a new one. We enjoyed our stay

First off. Darla might be the best lodging manager I've EVER seen! I operate a rodeo ministry, and travel extensively in the region. This was my 1st stay. I booked through Expedia, and accidentally misbooked my dates. Darla went above and beyond to hold my room the extra night that I needed. She takes personal pride on her job. If dealing with good people matters...you'll LOVE Darla. The great reviews on Silver Spurs are legit. It's why I booked. And I hope to return many times. The motel itself is a rarity. An actual old fashioned pull up to the room place. But its in wonderful condition for the age. Dodge City hotels are pricey on summer, which makes Silver Spurs a bargain at about half the rate of the chains. Which will be newer, but not much better. If you're traveling through Dodge on a stopover..seeing the sights. Please go see Darla. Im legit not joking at all. Call the motel number, book the room, and experience how it USED to be done when people took personal pride in their work. Silver Spurs is not a fancy modern chain. But it's as close to stepping back in time as possible. If you stayed in motels before the major chains took over, and miss them. You're going to have a field day! Rooms are secure. Old motel, but key cards! My room was clean, and well kept. Go see Darla! She's the real deal Miss Kitty in Dodge. This is the way things should be! The buildings are certainly not new, however our room had lots of space and well maintained. The staff was very nice. The only negative is the traffic noise from the street, which is common at most of the motels we stay. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this motel to others.

The rooms were clean and functional. The site, however, is raggy and looks utterly uninviting. Also the site has weekly rentals which gives the place a different feel (and not good). All in all. It was a clean place to crash but I was glad to get out of Dodge.

We arrived later evening. The office was not easily marked, and was not sure where to go in. I did not feel comfortable in the area. Nothing happened, just the feeling you got. The gal at the desk was very nice, which made me feel good. The hotel is older and quite large in area. We could access our room at ground level & park our car right outside the door. The parking lot did not give us (2 sisters) a warm fuzzy. Again nothing happened, just the feel we got. Got in our room and stayed put. The room was clean, but old. Needs updates. AC blows right onto 1 of the beds. Not a stay I would choose again.

Darla (and her little dog!) were very kind and hospitable. Hotel is in a great location, handy for restaurants, shopping and attractions.

This was a great retro hotel. The manager was great! She is very gracious and knowledgeable of the area. She gave us directions and tips on the best places to eat in town.

Darla at the feont desk was very friendly and helpful. No breakfast. Parts of room were updated and nice, like the curtains, kitchen space and bathroom. Good water pressure for shower. Disappoonted the kitchen was not equipped with any cookware or dishes, so it was useless to us. Beds were really uncomfortable.

An old style motel with a big room and comfortable bed. The property is old but clean. There is a Thai restaurant basically on the property. Friendlt staff. Altogether what we expected and we had a nice stay.
