Hotel Posada Santa Fe

Very central location, clean and staff is very polite and helpful. Laundry service on site. Have also AC and elevator for two persons at a time (no luggage). They do charge for bottle water after the first two provided. A little noisy on the weekend since it’s right on the plaza and music goes on until late hours. I did not see access to roof top or pool.

Great Old World charm with mostly modern amenities in the heart of Centro Historico Guanaguato. Outdoor Spa accessibility is misleading online.

El hotel está muy bonito estilo antiguo pero en buen estado, solo tiene acceso en elevador a el piso 1, tiene estacionamiento pero en la propiedad solo caben pocos autos, los demás se los llevan a otro lugar, está muy céntrico de todo, siento que de las mejores ubicaciones, en general me gustos mucho

Second time choosing this hotel. Unbeatable location. Old-world charm. Quality bed, linens, etc. This trip we brought a car and the free valet parking was a great bonus. Will definitely stay here again.

The staff was very helpful and the location was wonderful. However, the facilities left something to be desired while a hot tub is advertised when we got to the property we found out there was a $25 charge to use it. Additionally, the elevator was broken, and there was no heat in the room

Great location, everything is close. The only inconvenience we found is that you have to request to use the hot tub with 2hrs of anticipation and you can only use it from 10am to 2pm and has an extra cost. But except for that, everything else was awesome.

Property is older than the advertised pictures, the rooftop situation is not as pictured, the hot tub was drained and it was just like an abandoned rooftop, not a nice hang out as pictured. The hotel echos a lot and I could hear all the music till late at night, I could also hear the receptionists. It was hard to sleep the first nights. Positives: AC, affordable, location. But probably won’t stay here again.

Great hotel. If you want to stay in the heart of Guanajuato, this is the place to go. The hotel is beautiful, and it’s been around for a long time. They have lots of great art pieces hanging on the walls. Make sure to stop by the bar and chat with Don Juan. He makes excellent drinks!

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly.

Property location, proximity to all shopping, restaurants and other attractions are excellent. However, hotel cleanliness is terrible. You see housekeeping with their buckets and rugs all day long, yet all they do is just make beds and take the trash out. There was dust and dirt everywhere, even in areas that are literally within reach, like the night stands and bed headboards. The bathroom shower was never properly cleaned, the floors had stains from day one until we left, which says no one mops them, otherwise these spots would have been removed at least once during our stay. Overall, the hotel is very old, rooms are super small, and I understand that cannot be changed. But what can and must be changed is the way the hotel is maintained and cleaned. It is an international tourist destination and should feel as such

Almohadas sucias, sábanas sucias, la ropa de cama y toallas de baño están muy desgastadas y viejas, están en muy malas condiciones, el colchón también se nota que es viejo y es muy incómodo, las habitaciones en general tienen un pésimo mantenimiento. Las cortinas de las ventanas están cayéndose; es reporte esto en la administración y reaccionaron de una manera desagradable y poco cortés.

It's a really nice hotel, the bed and pillows really comfortable. The room was really spacious.

Very small washrooms, we were supposed to have 2 queen beds and they were full size beds. Their elevator is very limited only 2 people

Hotel is old and some things need updating. Examples are old uncomfortable mattress with no padding hardly, very small rooms, having to climb stairs to third floor as they have a very small elevator that is very slow and noisy. It just became faster to climb stairs. The picture on Expedia was deceiving and made the room look more attractive and larger. I spoke with hotel staff and they did give me a slightly larger room in exchange but I felt the lady did not do it willingly and she gave me the cold shoulder after that. The plus side is that the hotel is located in an excellent location.

Great location. Staff at counter not polite, rooms are very small. Bathroom is very small for tall individuals like us. Difficult time sitting on toilet as we are tall and its too close to wall. Noisy bed. Noisy air conditioning.

The hotel was ok the only problem I have is that the room I was given room #8 the bathroom was so small that I was practically kissing the wall when I used the toilet, no room to move around and no way to get dressed after you get out of the shower

Excellent location. Beautiful building. Friendly staff. Clean. Rooms are small. No sound proofing between rooms so we couldn’t sleep our first night. People next door had tv blasting until 330 am. I called to complain and front desk took care of it. Given price, water should be replaced daily and breakfast should be included.

Loud but comfortable. But watch out for taxi scams. The fee from the airport is always around 600 pesos. That’s what it was from the airport to this hotel. When it was time to depart the hotel (11:45 on Sunday, June 4) we asked the front desk clerk to call us a cab. He did and explained that it would be $600, but that $200 was to be paid to his colleague at the hotel who he called the “agent” and the remaining $400 would be paid to the driver. Unusual but okay with me. When we got into the cab the hotel ”agent” stated $600 (in Spanish) so that I and the driver could hear it. I said in terrible Spanish “$200 to you and $400 to him, right?” And he nodded. So, we get to the airport and I hand the driver $500 thinking it’s the $400 plus $100 tip. (Remember these are pesos). The driver says “no, $600.” I say no $400 to you and $200 I gave at the hotel. We argue but the cab driver behind us starts honking his horn because he sees what is happening and our driver suddenly takes the $500 and leaves. I think the driver behind us knew I was being scammed and intervened. I am convinced the guy at the hotel and the driver conspired to cheat us because I’m an older American. I also believe the desk clerk was in on it too. The whole split taxi fee didn’t make sense. It left a bad feeling for us after what was otherwise a pleasant stay. So my rating reflects it and I hope that hotel management responds.

La atención del personal es deplorable, hubo un incidente en el estacionamiento y el encargado de recepción solo dijo: hoy hemos tenido varias quejas sobre el personal pero no hay nada que nosotros podamos hacer!!!! es una lastima que no se preocupen por la buena atención al huésped!!!

Overall, a very nice older hotel right in the middle of Old Guanajuato. The positive was convenience and the negative was a lot ot street noise. Service was generally good, e.g., a helpful server who guided us through a tequila tasting. On the other hand, we had a server for breakfast who was hostile and not helpful.

We traveled with 21 family members, all stayed at Posada Santa Fe. No complaints at all. Rooms, service, location and overall stay was excellent.

En general, muy mala experiencia. El hotel es bonito, pero tienen un servicio realmente terrible. Sobre el cuarto, el único inconveniente es que el agua caliente tarda mucho en salir. La cama es cómoda y el cuarto en general está bien equipado. Sobre el hotel, ofrecen una cortesía de 2x1 en el bar El Consulado, donde únicamente hay un mesero para 10-12 mesas. Estuvimos sentados 25 minutos y ni siquiera nos entregaron los menús, por lo que nos fuimos. Después, en recepción pedimos un par de copas para poder tomar un vino en el cuarto, y nos comentaron que por seguridad no era posible, pero sí darnos 2 vasos también de vidrio. Todo lo anterior, con una terrible actitud de servicio y hasta confrontativa. No regresaría ni recomendaría a nadie hospedarse en este lugar. Caro para lo poco que ofrece.

La propiedad requiere mantenimiento, es facil moverse por su ubicación, el personal es amable pero les falta entrenamiento.

The staff is welcoming and kind. The hotel is a masterpiece of colonial charm. This is our fifth time staying here and we wouldn’t consider anywhere else. Wonderful service, good food and outstanding margaritas.

All of Guanajuatos treasures are within a few blocks’ walk—the funicular to the Pipila monument, the Diego Rivera House Museum, the Alhóndiga, and the Museum of Don Quixote Iconography. We will be staying at this property for our next visit.

The food wasn’t good . The chicken was pretty untasted. Overall was good thank you

The restaurant service is very slow, they don't have enough people and the food not always is at the proper temperature. The elevator only goes to the first floor and the showers are in need of updates. The people is very nice and try to accomodate, we will go back again.

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Guanajuato and on the recommendation of many positive Expedia reviews decided to give this Hotel a try. We were definitely not expecting to be in the heart of most of the downtown activities. The room was quaint with its era specific architecture. The staff were super attentive. I loved the fact the rooms were quite spacious. I also enjoyed the onsite indoor/ outdoor dining experience. The food was excellent as was the onsite bar. Sadly the place doesn’t offer a pool or rooftop veranda as well as in room mini fridge, but the hotel experience made up for it in the end. I definitely would recommend anyone visiting Guanajuato to stay at this charming hotel.

Overall we had a good experience. My room was hunted. Excellent location, parking was a plus!! I had a terrible experience with the breakfast restaurant. My family sat for 30 min waiting for coffee and to be noticed while the staff welcome others and gave them service first. It took 1 hr to get breakfast on the table. I had to get up and ask for a waiter because we were being ignored. I do not recommend eating at their restaurants. Try other places to eat. The food was not delicious.
