I visited this property five years ago and loved it so much that I wanted to return. It did not disappoint! The layout of the hotel is very warm and welcoming with beautiful tables and couches around. An excellent bar sits at the back. The Front Desk staff were very attentive and responsive to my needs, my room was large with every imaginable amenity and a beautiful claw tub. The hotel is close to all the major sites and museums (walking distance). It is difficult now to leave such a wonderful place - I recommend breakfast each day in the hotel (magnificent) and the bar serves the most cold and tasty cosmo I ever had! No detail was left unattended. I can’t wait to return. Gracias!

Today, we leave Spain after visiting 3 cities and staying in 3 luxury hotels. Without a doubt, the Gran Hotel Inglés is the best hotel we stayed at during our travels in Spain, if not the world. There is so much to applaud — the elegant room, the grand lobby, the superb location, the delicious coffee and treats during our welcome and upon arrival in our room. But the tip-top reasons to book here are: 1) the extraordinary service and 2) the extraordinary people. We were blown away–more so after leaving the country and reflecting back on all our experiences–by the staff. Mark, Joaquin, Prince, and the entire group at the front desk and concierge are absolute leaders in this competitive, demanding industry. I wish I knew all the names of the wonderful people who helped us during our 2-nights stay 10/20-22/25 so I can also give them all the shoutout they deserve. Thank you, Gran Hotel Inglés for making our first time in Madrid such a magical, personal and glorious experience. L'hotel est vraiment très bien et très calme. Ce qu'il manque pour être parfait: - Coordination entre l'équipe du spa et la réception. On avait demandé une privatisation du Jacuzzi qu'on nous a confirmé. A l'heure venue le Jacuzzi était occupé par un couple qui avait commandé un massage. On nous a dit que l'équipe spa avait oublié de prévenir la réception... - Une petite attention à l'arrivée dans l'hotel pour les enfants comme c'est le cas dans les palaces (une petite peluche, un petit jeu, ...) Au niveau du confort, c'est très bien, il manque néanmoins un sèche serviette dans la salle de bain. L'airco c'est bien mais pas possible de chauffer une serviette pour la sortie de la douche. L'hotel est très bien situé à distance à pied de toutes les activités du centre de Madrid.

From our early morning check in with Javier, who proved to be a great ambassador for the hotel and anticipated our every need, to the smiling and charming Prince who was aptly named. Our concierge team went above and beyond to the point of running up a hill to procure us a taxi and recommend the best tapas bars in the city. The attention to detail in this hotel is second to none. The exuberance of our bartender Emmanuela ensured that we returned for our nightly cocktail. In summary this hotel is first class.

Excellent family stay in center of Madrid. Hotel was quiet despite being centrally located. Tivemos uma experiência excelente no Grand Hotel Inglés entre 7 e 11 de junho de 2025, em uma viagem especial para celebrar os 15 anos da minha filha. Gabriele nos recebeu de madrugada com simpatia e atenção, já ciente de nossas preferências. Fomos recebidos com uma carta de boas-vindas, um cartão de aniversário e dois bolos no quarto — um gesto delicado e inesquecível. O quarto era silencioso, bem equipado, confortável e com excelente isolamento de luz e som. A banheira foi perfeita para relaxar após os dias quentes, e os amenities de qualidade fizeram diferença. O prédio histórico é totalmente renovado, com ambientes elegantes, limpos e bem cuidados. O café da manhã foi um dos destaques, com buffet variado e opções à la carte deliciosas. A equipe sempre prestativa: em um dos dias, prepararam um café completo para que eu levasse ao quarto, sem custo extra. Jantamos no restaurante do hotel e tivemos boas experiências. Vale lembrar que ali tem estrela Michelin Como sugestão, seria ótimo ter mais ganchos no banheiro e um frigobar que realmente gelasse as bebidas. No mais, só elogios. Very attentive staff in a beautifully restored boutique hotel in a fun part of Madrid. Walkable to most attractions like the Prado and royal palace and also the train station for quick trips to Toledo or a hop to Barcelona. Located on a quiet-ish side street. I stayed here with my wife and 2 young kids in a suite comprised of 2 adoining rooms. Accomodations were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and renovated well. A few small negatives like a broken minibar didn't take away from the overall experience. Highly recommended for a city break, especially for Americans who are new to Madrid.

Highly recommend staying at the Gran Hotel Ingles. The hotel is very well located for seeing all of Madrid. The staff went over and behind to make our stay wonderful. Thank you so much to Marta, who helped us plan a day trip to Toledo to her home town, she provided us with a map and recommendations for the day. The housekeepers kept the room always fully stocked and clean. If you are planning a trip to Madrid, I highly recommend you stay at this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

Great property once inside the hotel. Staff and level of service provide is amazing! Rooms are very well equipped, though having a tub in the middle of the room is a bit odd (may not be this was in all rooms). Breakfast was fantastic.

Lovely hotel but despite having a quiet room, noise was an issue. The room had a locked ajoining door to another room which at 3am had a noisy guest talking on their phone after a night out. TV had a poor signal and coffee machine didnt work. That said, staff were great, hotel beautiful but just spoilt by an inconsiderate guest.

Hotel was very good. Very centrally located, extremely professional staff that tended to every need and addressed us by name, cool bar and lounge area, nice rooms. The only issue was the noise. We had a suite with one bedroom facing the street and the other the rear. The street is quite lively with lots of eateries and cocktail lounges, and there are quite a few people late into the night. We were one the first floor so it was probably the noisiest it could be. Not terrible, but it did keep us up. But if you have the right room, the hotel is highly recommended.

Excellent family stay in center of Madrid. Hotel was quiet despite being centrally located. They accommodated our early check in requests and beds were very comfortable and air conditioning was very effective in Madrid heat. Rooms were spotless and modern and staff was very friendly with excellent front desk and concierge support. Will definitely return.

We loved this hotel. The room was so nice (although on the small side - bed was comfortable, they even have a pillow menu, bathroom toiletries and products were great, mini bar well-stocked (charges apply), restaurant was good, room service was ok. Location was excellent in a low transit street at the Barrio de las Letras very near Plaza Santa Ana, Museo Thyssen and Prado and many other attractions. However, what we loved the most was the hotel’s staff…everyone was lovely, always with a smile and always ready to help. The hotel was great but the staff (and I mean everyone) was just superb. I really really recommend it and if/when I return to Madrid I will certainly stay at Gran Hotel Inglés.

Our arrival was in the morning hours, and our room was ready! This matters a great deal to me, as it helped recover from the long flight and get back on my feet to explore the city. The hotel staff is excellent, they also did the favor of reserving a taxi that came right on time for pickup. The location is always amongst the most important when choosing a hotel, and this is perfectly at the center of the city's center. You can walk anywhere from here. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Gran Hotel Ingles, it is a must when visiting Madrid.

Great property once inside the hotel. Staff and level of service provide is amazing! Rooms are very well equipped, though having a tub in the middle of the room is a bit odd (may not be this was in all rooms). Breakfast was fantastic.

Our stay was perfect, Prince was very welcoming & the whole staff couldn't do more for us - booking restaurants, organising trips, catering to all our needs - I didnt think Hotels existed like these any more but they do! Restaurant food outstanding & reasonably priced.

I visited this property five years ago and loved it so much that I wanted to return. It did not disappoint! The layout of the hotel is very warm and welcoming with beautiful tables and couches around. An excellent bar sits at the back. The Front Desk staff were very attentive and responsive to my needs, my room was large with every imaginable amenity and a beautiful claw tub. The hotel is close to all the major sites and museums (walking distance). It is difficult now to leave such a wonderful place - I recommend breakfast each day in the hotel (magnificent) and the bar serves the most cold and tasty cosmo I ever had! No detail was left unattended. I can’t wait to return. Gracias!
