A once grand hotel that has seen better times. Food from the bar is excellent, but it’s not a big enough area.

Great Value Hotel .Nice claen Spacious Room.Friendly Staff. Easy car Parking.Easy acces to Golf courses if not onsight as advertised. They are just a short walk across the road. Food was Excellent.My only negative and I'm being picky.the restaurant wasnt open on the night so had to Eat in Jocks Bar.Thus wasnt a problem but when i phoned to Book avtable in the Restaurant i was never told it was closed.Also this was never mentioned at check in. Overall we will return as we did gave a enjoyable night. Especialy the atmosphere mainly down to a visiting parties Quiz organised by the Hotel .

The best part of the stay was in jocks bar where we were served by two very professional and nice young lads. They are a credit to the place and this is how things should be done. Well done.

Double room - tired and needs updating although room was clean. Hallway carpets threadbare and a trip hazard. Poor lighting in room (2x bedside lamps only), bathroom in need of modernisation. Ate in Jocks Bar in hotel - very attentive staff. Ordered Haddock and Chips and thought I’d ordered a child’s portion - haddock thin and 5” long, although food was tasty. Nice varied buffet breakfast.

Hotel is well located and ideal for golfers but is in need of some modernisation. Rooms are very dated but the bar and restaurant area were very nice and food was good

We enjoyed our dinner in Jock’s Bar and the service was excellent. The hotel is tired, but the “wet paint” notices are on show. So the signs of improvement are there. The Green is a good base for a visit to lovely Kinross or a gig in the Backstage venue behind the hotel. Even with these challenges, we’ll almost certainly be back

Have stayed previously. Staff helpful and friendly. Great music venue. Some areas a bit tired and worn but didn’t detract. Some cleaning issues in room..sticky liquid on bedside table and dust over door frames/bathroom light. However, friendly and helpful staff and overall vibe outweighed these issues

Night after afternoon live music event. Used the small brewery opposite for evening quiz. Think there is a link with the hotel. Good day/ evening entertainment.

My husband, kids and I stayed here recently and the room we were in (the Family Room) was dirty, extremely dimly lit and very dated. The carpet had several spots on it of varying sizes as well as duct tape holding it together in some places, the windows had an immense amount of bird excretions and were being held open with bars of soap that were placed there prior to our stay, the room had visible bugs which we had to remove ourselves, the toilet never flushed properly and it took several attempts per use, there was a distinct smell in the room, the curtains were extremely old/dusty/torn/faded, the shower curtain had several spots of mould, the bed was two twin beds pushed together and therefore there was no fitted sheet (only a flat sheet), the spare blanket had a sizeable stain on it, the bunk beds provided for my kids were wobbly and they didn’t feel safe in them .. and the list goes on. The only positive thing was the breakfast selection.

Our room was lovely & modern & clean. Hotel needs a make over. Torn carpets & peeling paint. Breakfast was great.

Rooms are very tired and not clean. The carpet needed a good vacuum especially around the skirting boards.

This hotel should be closed for health and safety grounds. hazardous carpet and insect infestation and 10 years overdue refurbishment. checked out early and the management failed to contact me as promised. bitten by something in the room, twice, mould in bathroom, a cracked window in the bedroom and and tiles in bathroom and the communal carpet is a trip hazard and the most worn carpet i have ever seen in my life.

Would not recommend!! , I was given a room which had a view of old furniture and appliances not to mention a cracked window, mould around the bath and foid debris (cake) behind the kettle / table. I was moved to another room with no lighting just two working lamps (36) curtains which did not meet in the middle, damp stains on the ceiling and rotted coving along with mould around the bath. The building is lovely but really tired and used. The carpets in common areas and stairs are thread bare and patched together with gaffer tape. On a positive the food and breakfast was ok. Not repeat Not worth the money, choose somewhere else.

This older property offered a nice large room with an amazing bathroom. The decor was a little dated and the corridors badly in need of maintenance but I felt safe. The breakfast was very good.

Stayed here 50 years ago with family …. property has not modernised. Plug sockets lacking in bedrooms, nowhere to plug in kettle, beds hard, no overhead lighting in bedrooms and lighting out on stairs. Staff were attentive, food great and lounge area comfortable.

The Green Hotel has character and charm. Currently being remodeled, some of it is in a shabby chic state at present. But I prefer that over boring and bland. The spaciousness was also a welcome change over tiny rooms. They do a great breakfast, serving both hot and cold items with plenty of choice. Their affordable price enabled us to go to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The cost savings was worth the extra drive. So, all things considered, we'd stay there again -- gladly!

The room was really good value for the night. It was a little bit dated, wallpaper was peeling away from the wall in places, shower was hot and the breakfast we had included was really good. All in all quite happy with our experience.

A "Heritage" hotel. Quite a large traditional Scottish property. Bedrooms are huge with desk and sofa. Bathroom with bath and shower over it. A little tired in places but a nice ambience. Great Scottish breakfast with haggis. It was snowing during my visit and my room was so cold despite the radiator been warm. I had to wait for my broken down car to be recovered the next day so spent several hours in the lounge and bar. It was cold there also. Had to keep my coat on!

Really pleased with the size of room, with sofa, really comfortable beds. The food was delicious, and an excellent breakfast. Real value for money.

Very nice hotel. The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable and again huge. The staff in the morning for breakfast were very friendly, and the breakfast was superb. Lovely setting . Highly recommended.

For what we paid, breakfast inclusive, and as we were only really just passing through, we were really pleased with it. Service was exemplary, and in the main the public areas were fairly upto date. Looking at a few of the other reviews, to an extent they have a point: the room fittings and decor, beds, and external areas could do with some investment. But I'm no hotel critic, I was there to get fed, watered and get some shuteye. To that extent, it did the job perfectly. The minor points (above) I thought were more than offset by a fantastic breakfast menu. I had - in order - good branded cereals, lots of tea, full English/ Scottish cooked breakfast, fresh fruits (melon, grapefruit, prunes, plums, oranges, apples), toast with deli meats and cheeses, and then pastries and coffee. As you can tell, I enjoy my food, and I thoroughly enjoyed that breakfast.

Staff were excellent and very upbeat. Made my stay more enjoyable.

Arrived late and left super early. It was fine for that period. Hotel is tired. Room was tired and bed was solid. Reception staff was cheery.

For an overnight stop, The Green Hotel was ideal - friendly staff, comfortable and good food.

Bad from start to finish , surley receptionist chewing gum. Room stank of damp, peeling wallpaper. Disgusting bed. Moved to a 'refurbished' room which was better but the Chuckle brothers obviously helped with the refurbishment. Dog friendly? Only if you dont mind being treated as second class. Sponsored walk for dog owners to fetch their breakfast to take half way down the hotel to the grotty bar area to eat. Whole hotel looks and feels like its due for demolishing. Just awful. Feel sorry for the staff who are very nice but are fighting a loosing battle. Won't be staying again.

Lovely village with enough to entertain. Lock Leven brewery bar well worth a visit. Great scenery with Lock and Golf course. Hotel clean and helpful staff and got a good nights sleep.

Enjoyable stay. Room very clean and comfortable.outside seating area in quadrangle needs improvements with comfortable seating and tables. Restaurant food and service good.Staff very pleasant and helpful. A good stay for golfers as two courses opposite.

The location is great. We have been going off and on for thirty years. The staff could not be more helpful. I believe rooms are being renovated but the room we had was clean but very tired especially the bathroom. We had no hot water at 8.00am and the water pressure for the toilet was incredibly low. It was the same in the toilets below our floor.

Very tired room. Desperately needs a makeover. Low water pressure and a rock hard bed. Breakfast took ages as there were no eggs available. Room was spacious, with a nice view of the garden. Staff all friendly, but not good value for money.

Hotel in need of a major upgrade in regards to the bedrooms, (which are happening), as well as surrounding walkways. Beds were horrificly hard, felt like we were sleeping on the floor. Our room had ripped wallpaper, and clear evidence of mould. Kept awake by local seagulls making noise for most of the night. This would have been partly avoided if the windows had been double glazed and the wooden frames not rotten, and barely closing. Evening bar meals were ok, staff in the bar were very good TBF. Breakfast had a good selection, and staff were again very good. Overall, the hotel is let down by the quality of the rooms, staff were very good, but would not stay there again in a hurry, unless the rooms had a significant upgrade.

We were earlier than the check in time ,so we asked if we could leave our luggage there until our check in.We left our luggage and went out for a walk to get to know what was around us.When we went back at 15:00 for the check in our room was not ready so they asked us to wait in the bar untill the room was available, at 15:45 we went to our room , we checked the room out as you do and found that the Tea and coffee facilities were not up to our expectations, Three milks /1 biscuit/for what the price of the room was we expected more,there was no bottled water /no glasses/no hairdryer/ and because we were going to a wedding the next day we needed a Iron and a Ironing board for our clothes,When my wife went to reception to ask for the glasses they said they do not leave glasses in the room since Covid19 and that there are not enough Irons or Boards for everybody and she would try to find them and leave them outside our room,,The stay was memorable but not in a positive way.The breakfast we booked in at 09:15 which was buffett style , when we went down for breakfast a lot of the items were not there because they had not been replenished and we had to wait for them. We could not fault the attitude of the staff, every request was met with a smile and positive response, we just thought for the price we paid, we shouldn't have had to ask for, what we considered, the basics. The hotel is tired and worn but this could have been overlooked if the facilities had been better
