ROOST Cleveland

Amazing!! I see why they are highly rated. We had a one bedroom apartment that was spotlessly clean, roomy and tastefully decorated. The amenities (community room with kids play area, a beautiful, huge atrium with yard games no less and a lovely roof top area with seating and its own wet bar) were an unexpected plus. Many fun things and restaurants within walking distance. We will be back!

Make sure to reserve parking in the parking garage ahead of time. They send out an email with instructions and the link. It was $20 cheaper through that link. Its an indoor secure lot with interior access directly to the hotel. Hotel was very clean and nice. A little noisy being downtown but its tough to avoid that while remaining within walking distance to the ballpark and casino. Highly recommend and will be my go to in all future Cleveland stays.

This is an apartment style property. The room was like a 1 bedroom apartment, complete with kitchen amenities. The room was clean and new. There was a TV in the living room and bedroom. Lots of space. Washer and dryer. One difficulty was finding the parking and the lobby. After buying the parking online, you get a QR code that lets you in the garage, but then there is another kiosk to scan at for the private parking. Then, you have to go to the correct exit doors to get down to first floor to the lobby. The lobby is really just a desk in a hallway. The property is close to the casino and restaurants.

Property is in a great location. Parking passes available for purchase made the stay very easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was beautiful. Gym was clean and well equipped. Great hotel. Don't change and keep the same focus on quality.

Felt like staying at home! Beautiful building, gorgeous apartment, walking distance to casino, restaurants, etc. Parking does cost about $42 and the garage is not large vehicle friendly. It’s a tight squeeze but doable. We will definitely stay again!!

This place was a dream! Room was large with laundry and kitchen. The gym was the nicest rental property gym I’ve ever seen!

The transformation of this building from a department store to apartments/hotel is amazing. Very clean. Parking is secure and well lit. Staff were great! Close to everything! Navigating for the first time there was a little challenge, but that was more us than the facility. Would definitely stay there again!

This was a great value and I loved the extra amenities. Work out room was above and beyond. Community room with pool table and snacks available for purchase. Having a washer and dryer along with detergent was an unexpected plus and we put it to good use. Very quiet and secure. Only small issue is that you need to be aware of the parking situation which can be a bit confusing. Overall, I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous property but not clean . Floors were dirty and lot of flies. Area is located by eateries but beware lots of unpleasant solicitors

Have stayed here several times before. Very good facility. This time, our rooms had not been very thoroughly cleaned before we checked in. Mostly garbage on the floor and left in the kitchen. The front desk clerk was quite defiant when I told her. Manager was a bit more apologetic when he came up to view what was left for us.

The unit was immaculate and centrally located. Convenient parking too. Unfortunately the heat pump was super loud and located within the unit. We worked around it by turning off its cutoff switch during the night so we could sleep, but this did make the unit cold during our winter stay.

What a great surprise! It was an apartment not an hotel room. Extremely clean. Lots of safety features. Staff was helpful and extremely knowledgeable.

Really nice finishes and very large accommodations but it was in need of a deep cleaning. The couch was so gross I had to cover it with towels to sit on it. Very, very stained and there was food stuck to it in multiple places. The cofffee maker also spilled all over the kitchen because it was defective. The floors were full of crumbs and debris so that when you got into the bed you had to wipe your feet! There is a reason for putting a rug next to a bed, and there wasn’t one. It’s tastfully appointed, but when everything is dirty, it takes the shine off for me - nopun intended

Please do not choose this hotel. They know that is infested with spiders, bedbugs, and laces. I reported multiple dead insects in my room window and I was moved to a different room with the same problem. I got multiple insect bites and they were charging my $600 for checking out earlier.

Property is impressive & immaculate. It is spotlessly clean and very secure. Apartment we had was roomy & equipped to a high standard, beds very comfortable. Staff always pleasant. Could be noisy around the area at night. Soundproofing may be something to look at, but in fairness, the music from some cars was off the scale. Cleveland is very walkable, as such so is Roost. 5 mins to Progressive Field, 20 mins easy, flat walk to R & R Hall of Fame. The city has similar challenges to many others however it felt safe without any major, visible police presence. Walked to bars and restaurants, day and night without issue. Would thoroughly recommend Roost and would stay here again without hesitation

Incredible find in Cleveland!! The Roost — Part hotel, part air bnb, the biggest surprise of our stay in Cleveland. Four friends shared beautiful 2 bedroom apt, 2 baths, beautiful living space…for at least 50% savings vs 2 avg rooms at a nearby city hotel. Incredible gym, and location can’t be beat. Walking distance to Rocket Arena, Guardians stadium, and restaurant row. Great service. Only complaint was not great WiFi…but who cared! What a find!

We reserved the room based on the pictures listed and purportedly a room with a city view. The room we had was more like a basement with no view at all. Just 2 windows that faced another building so other than inside lights there was no natural light which is very depressing. When asked they said that there is no guarantee that you will get a room with a view. Felt like a bait and switch.

My teenage son and I stayed at ROOST during our recent road trip home and loved the whole experience. He especially loved having his own room and bathroom and we enjoyed the home-like feel the apartment offered. The view was great, with tall windows, but the shades were awesome and made watching a movie in the early evening no problem. Everything was very clean and well-stocked. Great amenities. The location can't be beat! There was so much to do within walking distance; we easily could have stayed for several days! I honestly never thought I'd consider Cleveland a vacation destination but we had such a good time, my son was asking to come back for a weekend trip!

You can barely call this a hotel room. Very nice apartment! Huge ceilings and doors make it feel even bigger than it is. Full kitchen and refrigerator was clutch - even did a load of laundry. This is how hotels should be!

I loved the apartment-style room, fully functional kitchen and living space. Also loved the high ceiling. The bathroom tub was so deep though that it was almost impossible not to hit your shin while getting in and out, and the bathtub floor was very slippery with no rail of any kind to grab for support. And while I loved the high ceiling in the other rooms, the shower head was really up there and impossible to adjust.

The hotel is tricky to get into. But very secure so that is a plus! The apt was clean and spacious. Only drawback was the bed was so low to the ground. But not a big deal at all. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely recommend to friends and will stay again!

Hotel was super clean and well furnished. Our core issue came from the location of our room within the Roost building. The hotel is situated in a corner position where different parts of the building line different city streets. Our room was 2nd floor on the Prospect Ave. side. This put us directly across from the casino. ALL outside noise reverberated into our room. ALL of the noises. We called down to the concierge at one point to ask about the street noise level and to inform them that it was impairing our child from sleeping but no resolution was offered and so a sleepless night was had by all. We found out the next day from other hotel guests that the other parts of the building had no issues with noise. It’s a great historical building and is beautifully maintained but I wouldn’t recommend it. There are nearby hotels just as nice that accommodate a good night’s rest.

Lots of homeless, people constantly begging for money, people very out of it and so much pot smoking (I know this is legal here but we as Europeans aren’t used to it) The Roost itself is so nice the rooms are huge and spotless clean. Unfortunately we didn’t have the lovely big windows like the pictures only 2 small windows high up that couldn’t see out of and no windows in the bedroom, kitchen or bathrooms. Fabulous roof deck that we made use of a good bit esp in the evening as just didn’t feel safe enough walking around Downtown Cleveland. The building is huge and we got lost a number of times as the signs aren’t great on the floors. Very quiet at night time with was great. Staff are lovely.

Check-in was a nightmare as we waited over 45 minutes with no explanation for why it was taking so long but other than that this place is great.

We checked in at 630am it was difficult because check in at the roost is 4pm. We were able to leave our bags and see the city. The hotel called us before our room was ready and let us hangout in a communal space for a bit. Everyone was so accommodating and nice. Every question answered. Everyone was very knowledgeable and kind.

We were stuck outside until another tenant happened to be leaving because no one was answering. And then no one was at the front desk. And I tried to then call but it was the front desk that no one was at. Then finally someone walked out from the back after security wandered back while watching something on his phone. No apology from the front desk for waiting. Then the internet went out and I tried to call the front desk and I got a voicemail and no one returned my call. We’ve stayed here a few times and this is definitely unusual for this hotel but still frustrating.

Air conditioning did not work. Spoke with a staff member who took my number but never called back.

Staff was very friendly. Location was awesome. Parking was great. Entire place felt very secure and safe.

When we arrived we did not know how to check in..where to park...why the elevators were locked...confusing and stressful since my boyfriend is an amputee and we had to walk forever. Staff was helpfulbut we were highly stressed.

Fantastic place. Front desk person Karla was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in 35 years of travel. Will never stay here again nor will anyone in my company due to one persons absolutely disgusting treatment of a paying customer with family. Tried to contact a manager but was told in a meeting all day. Will put my concerns in writing to the owners.

Great location central to everything! Beautiful historic building, spacious rooms, full kitchen & starter supplies. Bedrooms are away from street front so noise not bad at night. Perfect for our needs on this trip!

Very nice apartment/hotel. Nicely decorated and very modern. The immediate city view is not the greatest, but still located right next to East 4th where there many great options for eating, drinking, and activities.

The room was so spacious. It was a pleasure to relax in comfort at the end of a day out on the town. Many memorable dining options within walking distance and a high end grocery store if you want to prepare meals on your own. We did breakfast and late-night in the room, and a big meal out each day. Staff was great - friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wow, This place is special. A large Cleveland department store was completely renovated to create a mixed use space with 307 apartments and business spaces. The building is now called The May. Our apartment (which was cheaper than a hotel), was a brand new 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen and sitting room including a washer and dryer and all new technology. The facility is right down town within walking distance of all the key sights. The facility has its own parking structure in the building and while Valet parking is high, on may days you can self-park for $20 a night. Our room with its high ceilngs and brightly lite rooms we a joy to be in.

We loved this wonderful, well-equipped apartment right on the public square! The kitchen supplies were perfect and the apartment lovely. Staff were very helpful in talking us through some parking challenges due to a big event in town.

Great location, steps away from CTA downtown stop. Secure access to all doors throughout the building with a wonderful gym. Free coffee upstairs ( bring mug from room) coffee grinder in room was great addition. We didn’t take advantage of the full kitchen but it was a nice option to have. Recommend bringing ear plugs as room was directly off a busy road. More than impressed with this apartment style hotel stay.

GREAT Location! It’s a Very New Building and they are still (hopefully) working out the kinks. The Room I had was Pretty and very very spacious! BUT, what should have been enough room for a King or even a Queen bed was only a FULL size and worst most uncomfortable sleep I ever had in any hotel, ever. Mushy lumpy cheapo mattress with awful rock hard huge pillows. Woke up with a wrecked back. I should have caught it when I walked in and the nightstands were not even close to the bed and next morning I put it together that the proper bed was switched out. There is coffee maker in the room but no complimentary coffee anywhere on the property. There was a random jar of coffee beans but not sealed or labeled so who knows what or if it’s even safe. Checking in should have included any details of amenities and just any details period. Never knew there was even a gym on sight until the next day. So many details were left out. Parking is convenient but very technical and if you aren’t technical . Forget that. At least at checkin or out they should tell u you need to have your parking pass available to EXIT. Without a wifi signal this was a big hassle! ALSO- it’s a $250 incidental deposit! I find this so steep as there is no lounge nothing to charge including the parking which has to be pre paid from an external company website. So, for what you pay and the service. This property was disappointing. Better at the Big hotels. But the Location is great for venues! Potential is there!
