Ippokampos Beachfront

Had a wonderful 4 night visit, could easily have stayed a week, Naxos has lots to do and see. We had a nice clean room, great view, comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast included. Hotel Ippokampos is across from the beach, a short walk to the ferry port where there are lots of restaurants and gift shops. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Great casual atmosphere, older well kept property with a nice outdoor bar and comfy seating areas.

Beautiful hotel right on the water with beach chairs. Room was clean and comfy. Was catered to a gluten free breakfast each morning but unsure about cross contamination. Plenty of gf options nearby. Restaurant only accepted cash when we were there, card machine was down for a week which was a bit annoying. 15min+ walk from the port was a struggle with large bags and limited to no taxi options.

Simple, clean and comfortable accommodation. A fantastic location at a clean, sheltered beach, just a short walk into town for restaurants and shops. Delicious breakfast included. Beach lounge chairs available to rent, with drinks service. A beautiful sunset view. Most of all a friendly helpful staff made our stay great.

This is an older hotel and we arrived shortly after it opened for the season. The bar and restaurant were not available, so that was a little disappointing. Beyond that, it was a lovely stay.

A great property right on the beach. Breakfast was provided. Chairs and umbrellas offered at a reduced rate with food service! We loved it!!!

We got an ocean front room, so we saw the sunset every night. We did have to pay $20 to have two comfy beach chairs with an umbrella. The breakfast was included, and it was amazing. The staff was very nice.

This is easiest beachfront property in Naxos and eating breakfast on the patio next to the beach is a marvelous way to start the day. The staff is friendly and extremely and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

The pros: Room-the room we had was a one bedroom unit with a 2nd room being a kitchenette with a table and chairs and bedroom (2 twin beds and a trundle ) in one. It was clean, and swept daily and towels changed daily if needed.\xa0 Beach towels were at reception on day one and changed in room after that. There we're disposable slippers available to wear in the room which I loved as the kids would track in beach sand. Wi-Fi-super strong everywhere, including the beach! Breakfast- was a la carte and available at their restaurant which overlooked the beach.\xa0 I personally recommend the elliniko breakfast. It was a full breakfast which also included dessert, a beverage and a piece of fruit. Very attentive staff. TheCons Twin beds-They most definitely could have used a mattress pad as you could literally feel and see the mattress coils beneath the thin sheet. Bathroom- although lovely in pictures, it's small shower stall with no curtain would leave the floor soaked. Other The sunbeads on the beach were 6 euro for hotel guests with 2 beds an umbrella, a chair and table. Amazing location-this hotel was easy to walk to from the port, and throughout old Naxos. It had 2 supermarkets, a laundromat, restaurants, cafes and clothing stores nearby. This location can not be beat! land. Be aware that there are few gas stations on the g in Naxos town . Our room was in the basement and it was very hot even with the air conditioning blasted. The room also had a weird smell. restaurant staff was not very nice and food was okay. However, George was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was great, hot and cooked to order. Room was average, could be cleaner, stained curtains, very average bed linens quality. AC unit would not switch to heating mode and we had some cold nights and had to ask for extra blankets. Beach view from the room is nice. St George Beach - you can walk a long way in crystal clear water, but I would not call it a fantastic beach. Staff was courteous and helpful. Service staff all very business like, and worked hard, but all looked tired and touristed-out.

The room was covered in mold. I felt unsafe staying in the room with the doors closed and no airflow, as the smell was overpowering and gave me a headache. The towels and bedding had stains. The property was not as advertised.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the manager’s rude and unprofessional demeanor set the tone for our stay. He was not accommodating and seemed more interested in cutting costs than ensuring a pleasant guest experience. The hotel itself fell far short of its supposed 3.5-star status. The rooms were dated, the amenities were lacking, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. It felt more like a 2-star property with an inflated rating. To make matters worse, the restaurant staff displayed the same level of rudeness and inattentiveness as the manager. It was as if courtesy and hospitality were foreign concepts to them. Dining there was an unpleasant experience, to say the least. Perhaps the low point of our stay was when we encountered a foul stench in our room one night due to a sewer leak. The hotel’s handling of the situation was lackluster, to say the least. It took far too long for them to address the issue, and it left an unforgettable mark on our stay. In summary, this hotel was a major letdown, and I would strongly advise against staying here. The combination of rude and stingy management, lackluster service, and the sewer issue made for a truly disappointing experience that does not align with the expectations of a decent property.

We had a great 2 nights at Ippokampos Beachfront. The welcoming staff were amazing. Friendly and very accommodating. We arrived at around noon and they had our room ready to check in. The room itself was nice and clean with all the needed amenities available. The only uncomfortable thing in the room was the position of the air conditioner; it was right in front of the bed and, no matter how much we tried, we couldn't deflect the air flow from the bed. We had to do without it during our stay. The other thing that led to scoring the service as GOOD rather than EXCELLENT was the service of the breakfast staff. The lady in charge was not very friendly verging on rude. As an overall evaluation, Ippokampos Beachfront is a lovely place that you should stay in despite the minor comments in my review. Thank you for making our stay pleasant.

The wifi just did not work for our room. their router wasn’t strong enough. the bathroom door handle was broken when we received the room. there were mosquitos in the bathroom

A great stay right on the beachfront! Was so amazing to be able to walk downstairs and walk straight onto the beach! The restaurant for breakfast enjoys stunning beach views and has the added perk of including an ala carte option for breakfast each morning. Just a small walk to town! We got the penthouse and it was probably a bit smaller than we expected but we were too busy exploring the town and relaxing on the beach to worry too much about the size of the room anyway!

I got upgraded to a veranda. The whole vibe was amazing, from the staff, music and beautiful sea view! Loved it all! Cute classy designs too & clean. Oh and I love all the cats around the place.

We booked this location for our 25th wedding anniversary. However when we got there they said they tried reaching us The room was booked at the same time as someone else and so they put us the on a sister property "apartments" five blocks away from the beach. It was not what we booked. We booked an on beach property And got an apartment overlooking a parking lot. They said they tried to contact us but I never received the messages via Expedia. To accommodate the inconvenience, they gave us two sunbeds for the two days that we were staying. I mentioned that we came late in the afternoon and we're not going to use it the first day and the second day we will be traveling the island so we will not have use for them. I said please credit the amount of the sun beds which were €40 each day, 80 total , to my account since I did not get what I booked. They said "whether you use it or not, this is what we're offering." Then when we asked to use the beach towels she said the beach towels are only for our beach. You can't take them anywhere else. So--- they offered us an apartment five blocks away from the beach, sunbeds that we did not use, (or any type of credit) and when we asked for beach towels they said we can't use them anywhere else except for their Beach. Not the best way to do business.

We had a slight bit of confusion when checking out, the gentleman at the desk told us we hadn’t paid and said we owed quite a lot. He was nice and the confusion was figured out quickly.

On arrival of our stay at Ippokampos Beachfront hotel, we were told that they no longer had a room for us as they had overbooked and that we had to stay in a different hotel, which was located behind the property. This was incredibly frustrating as this was a special trip for us and we had splashed on having a larger room with a beach/sea view, and were given a small room with no sea view. The hotel claimed they had tried to contact us to let us know, but hotels.com also had no evidence of this. It then took over three hours to resolve this issue, taking up one of our days on the island. It was incredibly disappointing and I feel it is important to leave a review so that this does not happen to anyone else!

Great location with great views. Walkable from port. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Beach was nice and sandy.

The property is right across the street from the beach, and has three restaurants within 100ft which made it very easy to walk everywhere. Also, it was such a short taxi from port and to the airport. Staff were very polite and helpful. When first arriving finding the reception desk was a little tricky but otherwise a fantastic experience.

Well situated on a very nice beach. Staff very friendly. Everything clean. Restaurant a little bit overprice, can find better choice within a 10 minutes walk.
