What a beautiful place.. entrance, parking, inside and outside amazing.. room was beautiful and very well presented. Will be booking again next year for our stay Thank you. What a great job you’re doing

Easy to find and a nice setting. Check-in was tricky because the email telling us how to do it was sent on the afternoon we were arriving - not very helpful. Fortunately the person behinf the bar was able to sort that for us very quickly. The room was OK though the fan in (unobvious in the wardrobe) was so noisy as to be pointless. There is plenty of shaded parking and it is about a 35 minute walk into Gloucester docks, over the Telford Bridge and across the Alney Island nature reserve. A pleasant walk on a sunny day but might be trickier in the wet. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't have it (nor were we offered it in truth), preferring to go into town and take the cheaper Wetherspoons option by the docks.

Wir buchten dieses Hotel extra wegen der angepriesenen Ladestation für Elektroauto und einem Restaurant im Hotel. Vor Ort waren beide Ladestationen allerdings defekt. Uns war es nicht möglich unser Auto zu laden. Vor Ort war niemand und es war auch nirgends etwas angeschrieben. Zum Glück kam ein freundlicher Gast, der vorrangig das gleiche Problem hatte und instruierte uns. Man erhielt ein Mail mit dem Zugangscode. Es war kein Wlan verfügbar und nicht alle Reisenden haben Daten im Ausland. Hotel.com schickte mir keine Pushmeldung. Wir hatten ein Doppelbett, welches unbequem war und die Kissen klumpig. Es hatte genügend Kaffe, Tee, sogar mit Kapselkaffee, das war super. Die Dusche funktionierte sehr schlecht, da der Temperaturregler defekt war. Die ganze Unterkunft hatte schon bessere Tage... Das versprochene Restaurant war geschlossen. Wir erfuhren dies erst vor Ort. Der nette Gast, der uns beim Einstieg half, riet uns in die Carvery zu gehen, was wir dann auch taten. Das Haus selber war sehr schön in netter Umgebung. Da wir diese Unterkunft extra wegen der Ladestation und dem Restaurant gebucht hatten, fällt unser Urteil schlecht aus. Wann das Restaurant geöffnet/geschlossen hat, muss beim Buchen besser ersichtlich sein und ich erwarte von Hotel.com eine Pushmeldung, wenn man mit Code einchecken muss.

Public areas grubby, underwhelming reception at check in. Car park not lit and in dark wooded area (no tarmac). Public area carpets filthy, room carpets much the same and room cleaned to minimal standard, door very insecure, window latch falling off, sink tap handle missing, shower cold. Walls paper thin and a lot of banging drum and bass from another room (not hotels fault just a complete moron).Terrible pillows. Restaurant expensive and average, staff didn't really want to be there. Could be a lovely place if some time and money was put into it

Room was spotless but window catches missing and plug missing from the bath. Staff very helpful.

Clean room and friendly staff

Dirty filthy and uncared for . Nests of bugs in curtains, broken bath , disgusting carpets . This used to be lively but will never stay again

The room was well decorated, clean, tidy, and we appreciated the coffee machine in the morning.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We booked a luxury room but the plug in the sink didnt work properly, the shower head needs cleaning as the water only comes out of certain holes.

Extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Dealt with dietary issues without batting an eye. Food was delicious. Clean private rooms. Easy to find and quick to get anywhere.

The condition of the accommodation is disappointing as the carpet is incredibly dirty could do with replacing for darker colour, our window was broken as was the tap and the iron. No central heating in room so a fan provided but you can’t keep this on at night so was quite cold. Bathroom very poor layout not enough space to get ready privately so only go with partner or close friend. Extractor not working. The location and surroundings nice and restaurant nice and breakfast really good but takes a very long time to come up to 45mins and it was only us. We spent a lot here over the weekend asked for a refund just on poor accommodation but was declined.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very spacious and clean, with added bonus of mini fridge with complimentary bottles of water and fresh milk. Food in the bistro was excellent and at a good price. Location is nice and quiet but short distance to city centre.

Overall would recommend for a short stay. Clean and comfortable. Communication before arrival could of be better as we tried to call to confirm booking no answer on days when they where opened. The room was pleasant but too warm as there was no obvious way to turn the underfloor heating down

Nice room, great style in the bar/restaurant. Good breakfast available. Two improvements could be made: as the room had no central heating, should have a quiet convector heater not the small, noisy fan heater provided; The cups for coffee are packed with the milk, sachets, sugar, spoons - but all those have to come out to use the cup. That is plain annoying - get a separate container.

Room was amazing, and big. Shower was sooooo good, but its over a bath and its quite a leg up to get in the bath. Bed was really comfy and we slept in till 07.00 which is something we don't do.

To be described as luxury and to be charged over £100 for a the night was poor. There was no one to meet and greet, no reception etc. Not an issue in its own right but there wasn't enough toilet roll for the stay! No plug in the basin or the bath. The room was cold and despite turning the thermostat up it made no difference. Food facilities were closed. I don't complain but this was overpriced for the experience. The towels were also very small! Tap handle was missing as well.

The stay was nice. The room had lots of good features like a jacuzzi bath and a large fridge. However the room was a lot more run-down than was shown in the pictures. We wouldn't have minded this but it was one of the more expensive hotels in the area and it just seems like it wasn't being well looked after and the quality wasn't there for the money.

An awful experience we didn’t receive an email apparently sent to say it is self check in on a Monday evening. Arrived and it was all in darkness, called the contact number numerous times but it just went to an answerphone. Hotels.com also tried to contact them. Finally messaged us later in the evening but we had already had to find somewhere else. They did say that they would be in contact regarding a resolution but yet to hear!!!

No staff on site early in the week. Booking said entry code would be sent 24 hours in advance, but after leaving messages, code arrived by text message 45 mins before check-in time and by email just after midnight. Rather stressful. Assuming you can get in the building, the room was fine.

Lovely place, very practical and charming rooms. However if you check in on one of the unmanned days (a bad idea in itself), watch out. The duty team left us with no access code, no way to check in, we spent an hour outside calling them and also Hotels.com at the end of a long journey. Eventually another guest who had their direct number managed to raise them for us and we were let in. But our room had no electricity/lights - presume a fuse had gone. But of curse no staff onsite to fix it. So we were sent wandering about till we found another one available. By which time it was too late for us to get a meal nearby. Then absolutely no apology and no refund. Such a shame about the duty staff, as the building is charming convenient and very smartly done. But you can't pay for accommodation and then find you can't access it.

Our check in was appalling. There was a private function which we did not know about. Not only was our room directly above it, but we were not allowed to use the bar or restaurant facilities on arrival. Having travelled for a few hours, we were even denied taking a drink from the bar to our room. Thank goodness for Deliveroo. Unimpressed!!

Less good was the staff in the pub who didn’t really feel the rooms were their problem. We should have had an email to explain access, key-safe, password and check-in/checkout but didn’t. Website says breakfast available but actually it isn’t on Sunday.

Quirky, quiet place to stay between the river and the canal. Lovely, comfy room and quiet. The restaurant is open Weds onwards. There is a Toby Carvery a few minutes down the road but not dog friendly. Gloucester centre about 10 mins drive away. Good stop on the way to Wales.

Nice area alongside canal for dog walks

A beautiful location just outside the busy city of Gloucester which gave us lots of restaurant options and a base to explore the Cotswolds

Lovely setting and excellent location as you could walk along a cycle track right into the city of Gloucester in just over half an hour

Rooms and restaurant were ideal for our overnight stop and proved to be in lovely condition in a pleasant location beside the river and canal basin.

Amazing tucked away little gem! Room was brilliant and lovely decor. Amazing waterfront views. Really friendly and helpful staff, not sure we could have asked for more. Will 100% stay here again.

A little out of the way along a canal with good walking tracks. Excellent staff and dining room. Room very comfortable with dual aspect windows so good flow through breeze.
