To be fair the hotel is quite nice. It’s in a great location. I have a bit of a gripe about the car parking valet service. Firstly I wasn’t aware it was £10 per night. They take your car and put it on a bit of private land down by the station and we could see it from our sea view room. I spoke to reception on Saturday evening asking that our car can be brought up so we could leave at 7am Sunday morning. I was assured this would be done but come the morning it was still there. I spoke to the night manager about it and he said he couldn’t leave the hotel so basically I had to go down and get it myself. Not in itself a hardship but I didn’t get the service I expected and it was annoying. Then we found the radio and media centre wasn’t working. I can’t blame them but it was fine when we arrived. I found the food quite expensive too with an ‘optional service charge’ which was nearly an extra £10 per night. You can’t really take it off without looking mean but it sure racks up the bill! Otherwise it wasn’t too bad but we prefer Salcombe.

Valet parking is a nuisance. Our room was very cramped with the smallest shower I have ever seen. Not enough plugs. The pool is nice but too shallow for serious swimming. The pool changing room showers are dangerously slippery. We enjoyed our meals especially since the restaurant has a fabulous view.

Gorgeous views. Nice gym with sea views. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast, although we did chip a tooth on the granola. And the elevator broke at checkout time. But overall nice stay

The views from the property were stunning. The room was a good size, we loved the complementary gin! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were immaculate. A fantastic weekend.

Perfect Hotel for a St Ives Visit After much research, I chose this hotel and couldn’t have been happier. We previously stayed at the Carbis Bay Hotel, but since the G7 summit, prices there have soared, and the walk or train into town feels inconvenient. Sea view rooms are a must. We enjoyed stunning sunsets as boats returned to harbour and even spotted dolphins playing in the morning. The in-room binoculars were a brilliant touch. The hotel combines modern, stylish design with the charm of an older building, featuring winding corridors leading to the spa. The spa is sleek, with a well-sized pool, two excellent saunas, a jacuzzi, and loungers offering stunning bay views. A full range of treatments is available. The bar and restaurant are creatively decorated and maximise the views. Food and drinks were enjoyable and met expectations. Things to Know: • The walk to town is 7–8 minutes downhill and uphill on return via steps or a steep slope. • Train and bus stations are a 5-minute walk. Valet parking is efficient—use the bays opposite the entrance and give notice when you need your car. Overall: I was fully satisfied and will definitely return.

Have stayed at the hotel previously and always happy to arrive and have the car taken away for parking (always a bonus in St Ives!) Check in and welcome both excellent as were all of the staff we encountered. The spa is a superb benefit for residents, in general another really enjoyable stay

Beautiful St Ives. Lovely hotel and great staff. Not very impressed with the spa this time. Hoards of children took over facilities although not actually allowed. No supervision and steam room didn’t work on 2 occasions as staff do not carry out checks. Spas are for adults to relax. Leisure Centres are for children to let off steam

View from room stunning, but size of room was minute - certainly NOT “de luxe double”. Not worth it for large sum paid. Facilities ok, but the “valet” parking system was confusing and inefficient, despite friendliness of the staff member trying to run it. You should not have to pay £10 per day for this, especially since the charge was not obvious on website. Staff at front desk verging on unhelpful and not-communicative. Front desk itself was so high one could hardly make eye-contact with staff, who sat stolidly behind it. One might expect St Ives to be overpriced and under-welcoming….sadly this was true.

Very nice hotel with excellent service. Unfortunately, if you travel with children, you have a very narrow window of opportunity to make use of the swimming pool. We found that part of our stay too restrictive.

Lovely stay at this hotel. Delicious extensive continental breakfast provided, with hot breakfast at a great price of £10 extra. Large comfortable king size and single beds, with great pillows and clean bathrooms. Lots of space to relax. Easy valet parking at £15 night. Beautiful beach view from our bedroom, the other room street view. Overall great stay. Will be back if in St Ives!

Having stayed at the Habour Hotel in South Hampton I had high expectations for this hotel. I was however disappointed. The views were spectacular and the room was comfortable, however, on two consecutive days I felt the room was cleaned haphazardly. Used glasses and towels not replaces and the bed looked like it was simply thrown together. When spending such a lot of money on a room, having a clean room should be a given. I doubt I will be giving my patronage to this brand hotel again.

The bathroom in our room had someone else's used and dirty tooth floss. The bed was uncomfortable. When we had cooked breakfast it was cold and had to be sent back twice and then covered in oil. They charge now for parking which I wasn’t made aware of until we got. We had a drink in the bar which the barman got wrong and then did nothing to sort out and then automatically added a service charge! Would not be staying there again!

Very pretty hotel with beautiful views and a particularly goos breakfast. Windows were a bit tricky to use and rooms got very hot in the night. Rooms were not made up well (bet made but rubbish not removed and dirty glasses not replaced).

The hotel is conveniently located about a 15 minute walk from the centre of St. Ives and is directly above Porthminster Beach. In terms of overall amenities and service, I would rate this property at no more than 4 stars. We stayed in an ocean facing room with a balcony. The room only had a double bed and a very small bathroom. The balcony was not cleaned and the chairs and table had bird droppings on them, making it not pleasant to use. Our daughters had a room without a view on the lower ground floor; the room was bigger and had a king sized bed and a sizeable bathroom.

Our stay at St Ives Harbour Hotel was very pleasant. It was our second visit. There were a couple of things that weren’t perfect, I asked for twin beds in one room to find both rooms made up as doubles on arrival. This wasn’t really put completely right as mattresses were just pulled apart by an inch. Also room 116 was like a sauna, a fan was on in the room on arrival and had to stay on all visit (4 nights) which made the stay uncomfortable as it didn’t help at all. Unfortunately the hotel was full so was not offered an alternative. Overall we enjoyed our stay, we always find the staff lovely.

Amazing location - we went to sleep with the sound of the sea coming in. Piano bar two floors down however, was too noisy up to midnight. English cooked breakfast disappointing but Continental breakfast options very good. Mattress not so good. Easy walk to other dining and shopping.

We stayed for a wedding (Thursday to : Sunday). We had a room on 3rd floor over the main road. It was a nice room but hot so needed the window open but the noise of the road was too much! Nice room but needs safety rail for exiting the shower. Also the shower pressure was terrible so much that I went to use the gym showers instead to wash my hair!!

Seriously overpriced for a tiny shoebox of a room, you could barely walk around the bed to get to the bathroom. No coffee sachets, it felt like I had been put into a room that hadn’t been checked properly. Service from reception and breakfast team was excellent however bar service was appalling.

The service at front desk was appalling. Builders were putting up scaffolding right in front of the outdoor spa area where the sun beds were, we had to leave as was so noisy. The bedroom had no air conditioning and was so hot. Our bags were not taken to our room as suggested - as we arrived earlier and our room was not ready. Very disappointed and will not stay again.

Great location, well maintained and spotlessly clean hotel, let down only by poor service in the restaurant. Had to chase up tea/coffee every morning, scrambled eggs always cold and used crockery & cutlery not removed from the table once during four breakfast visits. The restaurant seemed under-staffed at both breakfast & dinner, and the service compared to other local restaurants was disappointing.

Our hotel room was fabulous. We had a comfortable two room suite with a balcony and sweeping views of Saint Ives and the bay. However, we found the staff to be generally disinterested, and at times unhelpful. They would only do or say the bare minimum to address your requests. While one was directed to call the front desk to request various services, I had great difficulty getting anyone to ever answer that phone. I usually departed to just going and taking care of whatever the issue was myself. Love the hotel room, and the view, but the staff experience was enough that I would not likely return again.

I know it’s very easy to criticise a stay but we have stayed in most of the harbour hotels and this one lacks the sparkle we normally expect. Service was very slow and tables left uncleared for lengthy periods. Not blaming the good staff but they were sparse and under pressure. There were stains on the bed base and carpets and shower hard to use and this was in one the the most expensive rooms. We ordered room service one item didn’t turn up and the other was not what we ordered so again not great. We generally love the harbour group but after recent visits to salcombe beach hotel this was disappointing with few staff and little management influence.

This is an upmarket hotel (certainly judged by its room prices). It is an old hotel so expect lots of narrow corridors and steps. Highlights for me were: the bed (soooo comfortable), the breakfast (great selection of quality food) and the location with sea and beach views. Worst bit is that there is nowhere to park - even to unload your car. But I think this is probably true of most hotels in St Ives

Beautiful hotel over looking the beach. The valet parking was amazing, so convenient and efficient. Great facilities with the pool, sauna and steam room. I didn’t book the spa but I definitely will if I come back! Just a five minute walk to the beach and a ten minute walk to town. The inclusion of breakfast was so nice and the service was brilliant.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and continental breakfast had a good choice. The spa was nice but it was really busy. Nice little touches in the room such as a gin and tonic and you could see they had used local providers which was great to see.Location was excellent for the beach and the town.

Great walkable area not far from the harbour, shops, restaurants. Staff was wonderful. Our only complaint was getting from the train from St Erth into St Ives. I wish there was some type of warning from the hotel. No lift from incoming train over to St Ives platform with luggage was no fun then getting the luggage from the train up to the hotel was very difficult. Take a cab from St Erth to the hotel if you have more than hand luggage.

We booked a superior room with a sea view and had a very large room with a nice sea view. The balcony was very small but ok for a few days stay. Got a fab view from there of a fireworks display on the beach one evening. Bathroom very small though for a room of its size but otherwise all good. Close enough to walk the heart of St Ives harbour though a little uphill on return. Close to beach and train station.

Great location and views although it’s a bit of a walk back up the hill from the harbour front. We are in our 50’s and was fine. Room was excellent. I liked the staff. Bit of a wait for food at breakfast when it gets busy. I would go again.

Overall our stay was very good, room with a sea view was amazing - small but fine and the bathroom was spacious, clean and shower excellent. Great location with only a 10 minute walk into St Ives and parking was very useful and no hassle with the drop off area adjacent to the hotel entrance. Our only disappointment was the cooked breakfast on our first morning which was lukewarm and it looked like they were short staffed with only one taking orders and serving and there was a large wedding party to attend to?. Other than that we would highly recommend.
