Our one night stay at The Swan Hotel was an excellent choice, parking was good, the car park is not easy to find so watch the directions that the Hotel give you on their website, they are very clear and helped immensely ! The Hotel feels really welcoming with lots of nice places to sit and relax, nice bar area and live music on the night we stayed which was very good. It is very clean throughout, all the staff are really friendly and make time to chat, the food is excellent, we ate evening meal and breakfast, we would 100% recommend The Swan Hotel in Stafford.

Exceptional value, our room was very clean comfortable and modern. It was however somewhat noisy, there must be a night club very close by and the base from the music could clearly be heard. We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant, which is again is modern and stylish. Our evening meal and breakfast wete both excellent, An added bonus of a band on in the lovely outdoors area at the rear of the hotel. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel has plenty of guest parking.

Loved visiting Stafford and this hotel is beautifully situated in the centre with complimentary parking for hotel guests. The parking is right behind the hotel and there is a helpful video on their website with directions. The hotel is perfect. Our double room was not massive but had everything we needed was immaculately clean and comfortable. The radio was playing when we arrived with gentle classical music, what a lovely touch. All staff were great, helpful and polite. The hotel is delightfully old fashioned without being stuffy. Breakfast was excellent perfectly cooked and great coffee always a winner. Will definitely stay here again. 5 stars ✨

A traditional town centre hotel with large flowing bar and restaurant area on the ground floor. In spite of refurbishment, the limitations of the old building are evident. The windows of the room we were shown to would not open (broken sash cord in one and totally stuck on the other) and no sir conditioning. The replacement room was better with a modern bathroom and a window that opened even if it was in a poor state of repair. Service in the bar and restaurant was friendly and good. Breakfast good. The car park is behind the hotel and difficult to find (get the hotel to give you the postcode for the car park).

Easy to find with good sized car park that’s barrier controlled for extra security. Evening food was DELICIOUS! Comfortable beds and a nice brekkie. Nice travelling stop.

Tv 1 to 9 couldnt sit and relax watch tv no stations shower room stunk like drains paid nearly 150 in total then told us 15.00 pound for dogs on departure complete rip off for what you get didnt even bother with breakfast due to smell coming from shower room ...no body about to report the problem disgusting place

This was our 3rd stay with you; we returned because we have always enjoyed our visits. The hotel is really characterful, comfortable and beautifully clean. All the staff we meet are friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. The Christmas decorations are fabulous!

Lovely hotel, lovely staff, floors were a bit creaky as wobbly but it's a old building to be expected! Nice simple room with everything you need. Was very very warm though but there was a fan provided which made it a bit better! Nice little touches with the show gels and things! Cleaning in the bathroom.was a bit poor, hairs and bit left around but sometimes it happens! Breakfast was fab too! All in all was a lovely stay and would definitely come back!

Great evenings stay, the only issue we had was the heat, we were unable to open the old sash windows ti allow fresh air in, it was a shame really as the stay was exceptional good value.

Stayed here before and had a nice room. This time the room was far to small for the massive bed, the cupboard that was supposed to be a wardrobe was useless, I’m 5ft 1in and my dresses were too long to hang up! The view from the window was of a fire escape and concrete. No heating in the bathroom. Don’t stay in room 104. Staff were lovely. Food was less than average. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of town. Definitely won’t be back.

Hotel room very clean and beds comfortable. Stayed before and had issues with noise from a kitchen extractor on all-night. As the hotel was nice though I thought I would give it a second go and asked for a quiet room. Unfortunately we had issues with noise again - our room was positioned directly opposite air condition unit which we were told went off at 9pm. This was not so and also music playing in the hotel went on for both nights until late - the noise was really loud. I've no problem with music but when you book a hotel to sleep in and the noise level Stops you settling until the music stops it is very frustrating. Sound proofing of the room is also poor so hear lots of noise all night. We were not warned before hand about the live band and I phoned reception at 11:10 to ask when it was finishing, but got no reply. It's a lovely hotel but we slept badly for two nights so we're glad to get home for a rest, which defeats the reason for getting a break away. Sadly we will not book here again, and will now try a different hotel for our frequent trips to the area.

Nice hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The building has character. Room is clean. Walls are thin and I’ve been able to hear the man next door snoring, and now their dogs barking and whining. Apart from that all has been okay. Parking was easy to find using the postcode provided for it by the hotel.

Waited 5 minutes for some one to turn up at reception both arriving and leaving. Not enough staff employed. Staff friendly but are having to do to much . I watched breakfast lady having to deal with someone trying to checkout. Breakfast looked good but cold.

Nice location, the room was comfortable and breakfast was good. Staff helpful and friendly BUT it’s clear that there aren’t enough of them as we had to wait for everything. Check in was slow as the receptionist was dealing with another issue and it seems she had no back up. It was the same at breakfast, there appeared to be only two young staff working the restaurant, there were 7 tables occupied when we placed our order and only one table had food. When we checked out there was another long wait. I certainly don’t blame the staff, I felt very sorry for them. This is a management issue that needs addressing.

We initially had a problem with our TV but this was resolved by a helpful staff member. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent. One small improvement opportunity - check in is at 3pm but Reception wasn’t manned at that time! Not great customer experience…

- [ ] A little disappointing. Super busy on arrival which is expected for a Sunday before Christmas. Check in was fine, once you got someone’s attention. Room was nice. Spacious and well appointed. But for dinner, no one knew where our booking was for, no one came to tend to us so we moved tables. Twice. Ordered at the bar and mains were lovely. Hot and quick to come. We then waited over 45 minutes for (terrible) deserts (which was an un set chocolate mousse which was more like a flat, gritty angel delight, and a ‘Christmas pudding’ splodge the shape of a sausage roll with the texture of jam). By this time the place was empty. Seemed there wasn’t enough staff to cover the many areas of service. And if there was, they weren’t organised at all. Rather cheeky when 10% is automatically added to the bill for service! Sad as the place is lovely, busy, very dog friendly and the food was great. May just be bad timing, as it was the busiest place by far in the town centre. Plus, it was a completely different story thw next morning, with attentive, friendly service, good food and a lovely atmosphere.

Fabulous stay at the Swan Hotel. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are happy to explain things to make sure your stay is a plesant one. A shout out to the young girl who was our breakfast waitress (I think she was called Amberle). She worked tirelessly hard, was very pleasant and even though she was busy she made time to have a chat and give tips about the area! She was always smiling and made sure you were happy! You are all a credit to the Swan Hotel! We ate at the Hotel all 3 nights as the food was excellent ! We will be back in the future!

Ignored at check in, room bang average with creaking floor (207) plus very uncomfortable chairs, 1 member of staff at breakfast and breakfast not the best, checked out and had to revisit reception for token to exit car park…why would you not just give a token on exit? Best part of the visit was the Bengal Lounge nearby…fantastic food!

When we arrived no one was on reception. Our bedroom and bathroom were both very cold and the radiator did not come on ( we were advised that they were looking at the timing). The bath water on the saturday nigh was only tepid. We had a reservation in the restaurant but waited an hour for our main course to be served. The television controls were complicated and no instructions to follow.

I was on a remembrance and family/friends visit. The Swan is ideally located in the centre of Stafford and is a lovely old coaching inn. I decided to visit by rail and the hotel is only a 10 minute walk, through the park, from the railway station. The staff were friendly, professional and very pleasant. The only slight downside was that some of the furniture in my room was chipped. However, I understand there is a refurbishment planned in the near future. An easy to use car park is located at the back of the hotel and parking is free to all guests and anyone using the hotel facilities. I would have no hesitation in visiting The Swan again sometime.

Exceptional value, our room was very clean comfortable and modern. It was however somewhat noisy, there must be a night club very close by and the base from the music could clearly be heard. We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant, which is again is modern and stylish. Our evening meal and breakfast wete both excellent, An added bonus of a band on in the lovely outdoors area at the rear of the hotel. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were very well looked after from the minute we stepped through the door. Bar staff, restaurant staff and reception were very friendly and welcoming. The quality of the food in the hotel restaurant. We had Sunday lunch and breakfast the following morning. Everything was freshly cooked, well presented and of the very highest quality. Our room was spotless and spacious. Toiletries that were provided were exceptional! These are available to purchase at reception for anyone wanting to take some home. The hotel is very relaxing, we had total peace and quiet in our room. We will definitely return to this hotel. We had the perfect weekend.

Had a fantastic two night stay here - the hotel is a wonderful old building with lots of old features that make it quite unique. Staff to call out are Jason and Catherine who both went the extra mile to help make our stay seamless. We had dinner one night which was very tasty, the ambience is a nice buzzy atmosphere. Breakfast is a very varied menu to suit everyone and was very tasty too! The only issue was trying to find the carpark as it's not particularly well sign posted.

But for dinner, no one knew where our booking was for, no one came to tend to us so we moved tables. Twice. Ordered at the bar and mains were lovely. Hot and quick to come. We then waited over 45 minutes for (terrible) deserts (which was an un set chocolate mousse which was more like a flat, gritty angel delight, and a ‘Christmas pudding’ splodge the shape of a sausage roll with the texture of jam). By this time the place was empty. Seemed there wasn’t enough staff to cover the many areas of service. And if there was, they weren’t organised at all. Rather cheeky when 10% is automatically added to the bill for service! Sad as the place is lovely, busy, very dog friendly and the food was great. Good bedroom and central position. Evening meal involved microwaved food which was just about edible. Breakfast food better quality however 90 minute wait for cooked breakfast one day. Second day 30 minutes and run out of some of the food. It good enough for a hotel with this rating.

Great 1 night stay. 5 minutes walk from the station. We had late afternoon food and drinks in the beer garden and breakfast next morning. All staff from hotel reception to younger staff in the bar were very polite. Room was clean and as advertised. Couldnt fault it.
