Stayed 2 nights

The Good: Great location! Really amazing view. Very roomy. Very pretty. Pub at the bottoms of the steps is superb. The Bad: Don’t book in the summer. It heats up 10+ degrees hotter than outside and takes hours to cool down at night. We came in August and it was sunny and 25 def outside which translates to 35 deg inside according to our portable thermostat. Kitchen is really poorly stocked. Two small pots big enough to cook soup or beans only. Fridge is a crummy hotel style mini fridge, no room and the ice chest is tiny. Bring your own sponge to clean apparently? 1 tea towel that’s going to be always wet and no place to dry it. 1x power socket for the whole place (behind the TV)! 3x USB ports, one which was broken. 2x 12V sockets. (Give the host some due - the power socket was given an adapter expanding to 3x sockets and 4x USB - really needed this - but still shocking to find how this place was designed). Outdoor deck is not secure and the entrance to the road has no door. Not good for kids or dogs. Bathroom is extremely dark and can’t see a thing. No mirror above the sink, so no way to shave. No place to hang towels (why are people afraid of providing wall hooks?!). Bring your own hairdryer, but can you even use it? Bed was small for the size of space. Pillows were comically flat. Really bad. Had pains in my neck for the whole day everyday. Summary: We didn’t hate it. It was beautiful. But would we say we come back? No way. Do we regret it? Eh. Overall it’s OK.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is a thoughtfully designed self-contained pod, built with natural materials, plenty of nice design touches, and careful thought put into maximizing a small footprint. This self-contained unit includes, a kitchenette, fire stove, and parking. Its position on a quiet hillside afford visitors with a gorgeous view of mists rolling down the hills to Loch Awe. The restaurant at the foot of the hill was excellent, and we were able to charge our car at a charging point in their lot. A 40 min drive to Oban and a 5min walk to Kilchurn Castle. A great option for anyone who wants something less cookie cutter of a stay.
