Under emergency conditions this was the only hotel available for such a last minute request. The room looked as though it had no turn over. -Dirty Bed Sheets, bed barely made -Stains on sheets, pillows and comforter -Security lock missing and door loose -Damaged, torn and dirty fixtures and furniture -urine/ oil stains on bathroom floor -Parking lot was a complete ice skating rink no effort had been made by property to clear parking lot after snow storm

Hidden behind other hotels and strip mall on a road full of potholes. Lobby was unlit and locked at 8 PM with a permanent(?) sign stating the staff were busy helping customers with a phone number to call. Staff member was polite and helpful. Exterior of building is peeling pain. Carpet in room had visible dirt. When sitting on toilet, it was obvious no effort had been made to clean behind the door. Sheets had dirty footprints on them. Room never warmed up and it was only in the 40s outside. Electrical sockets were so loose my phone charger wouldn't stay plugged in.

The 1st room was not ready ( l checked in after 3 pm), and the 2nd room the card did not work, the safety latch on the door was broken off. The toilet was so small , it like a childs toilet. They ice machine was broken ( wasn't giving any ice).

We got there later at night and the parking lot was already appearing unsafe. After we got up to our room we had no sheets on the bed. They told us no other rooms were available to they would clean ours. 30 minutes later after we got up to our room the sheets they had put on our bed were stained and there was food in the microwave. We then decided to leave and stay somewhere else. Would not recommend.

Everything was dirty. Sheets not changed. Cigarette burns in the blanket. No trash bags in the cans, told the front desk. Only told to take pictures and send to an email. No refund offered and it’s impossible to get ahold of the hotel. No one answers the phone. Would NEVER recommend

Biggest gripe of visit was cleaning. Holes in bedding plus stains on sheets. Bedsheets did not appear fresh. Bumps in walls, very beat up chair and (burnt?) hole in tub. If the room was cleaner I would give it a 2 star. Great service on check out at front desk. One last concerning note. One badge needed to be reprogrammed. The desk attendant did this without validating. Can anyone just walk up and say to program their card for room X? Scary…

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were decently clean, but there were stains under the sheets and pillows. The bathroom wasn’t extremely dirty, but it wasn’t entirely clean either. The area looks a little sketchy, but we were safe. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, it just could have been a little cleaner.

The only complaint I have is more of a personal preference... and that's concerning the shower.. I'd prefer hotter water and more pressure... but again, That's a personal preference... Other than that everything worked fine (lights, faucets, drains, heating/cooling unit, locks, outlets) Definitely worth the price... 10 out of 10 would recommend if you aren't looking for a luxury resort.

I don't blame this on the employees working, but the budget for the hotel. One person working? They had to do everything. I went twice one night to get a roll of toilet paper and the employee was helping someone away from the office. Sent my son down twice the next morning and still no tp. Had to send him to the nearest store. Also, locked out of room for 45 minutes. Employee had to remove ac unit and crawl through. Locks are old, not working. They did give us a room after. Employees are great, but only having one there at a time is not good.

Honestly, this was a really nice and clean place to stay. The only downside was there was no hair dryer (I had forgotten mine) and there was no fridge. Also, the heat wouldn’t work until I realized that no matter what it was set on by the window, there was a separate knob on the wall by the door to control it. Weird, but I’m glad I figured it out! Haha

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very lovely! Negatives for us is that our TV remote would turn on the TV and that’s all, wouldn’t let us change channels or volume, we got a second remote from reception and it done the same thing. Our room neighbours were also out on the balcony all night talking loudly and playing music. Would stay here again though.

The property itself was just fine. Mgmt on the other hand needs to not lie to the patrons and then take their deposit because supposed smoking when none has been done in that room period. A cigarette has been brought in from outside and from there we even smoked against the wall when that isn't even possible. Mgmt posed as a housekeeper 3 hours before check out time asking if we were staying or leaving, while I was getting ice not even near my room, even though my reservation was only for 1 night. When I asked why she was taking my deposit she said because we had smoked in the room even though we had not even once smoked in there and even cleaned the room ourselves so that we would get our deposit back. I am now on the do not rent list even though I did nothing wrong.

Room Key would not work, had to be replaced. Furniture had many cigarette burn marks, and Microwave was marked many paint splotches. There were no drinking glasses in the room. The front desk was unattended for several hours. The room phone had no number for the office. Very shabby conditions throughout the room. Would never stay there again under any conditions!

I arrived at 4:50pm to find a handwritten note on the locked lobby door stating “Gone to clean rooms. Be back asap.” Forty five minutes later, no one had returned! No one answered the phone and no one returned. I had driven for 4 hours and excepted to be able to check in! On top of this, the lot was filthy, curtains were down in some rooms and one in the back appeared unoccupied with the door wide open. I checked into the Holiday Inn Express next door. They know customer service! After hearing my situation, the cut my room rate in less than half! I expect a refund for my Red Roof Inn fee!!!!! I will be pursuing this matter.

My boyfriend and I stopped in late just to get a few hours of sleep. The lady working at the front desk was very friendly. The room was clean. The lock on the door was a little hard to engage, but not a big deal overall. I had a question before checkout the next morning, so called the front desk. I didn’t get an answer, but very quickly an employee called the room and kept apologizing that she missed my call. I assured her that it was fine, she was very friendly. Checkout went smooth. The security deposit was credited back to my card before the end of the day. We definitely will stay here again. I recommend this Red Roof Inn located in Kanawha City, Charleston, WV

Didn’t stay because of check in time. I traveled from PA and needed to sleep. I tried calling multiple times and couldn’t get anyone on the phone and the office was closed for over an hour. I chose to get a room elsewhere.

It was most definitely worth the price. It was very quiet, felt safe. It’s in walking distance to the mall. The only complaint I have is there was no toilet paper in the room and upon requesting, we were given a half used roll so we bought our own at the family dollar next door.

The worst. The only positive is after checking the mattress, it was clear of bugs and seemed to be fairly new. Outside of that, horrible. Staff was friendly enough, but the place was RUN DOWN. I’m not sure the sheets were clean, lighting was horrible. There was no toilet paper in the room and the commode didn’t flush . They brought me a partial role of paper from another room. I requested a plunger and cleared the toilet myself…. The two guys hanging in the breezeway appeared to be permanent residents. They were smoking marijuana and one said he “loves the Red Roof. It’s like Jerry Springer.” I expected someone to kick in my door all night. I had to leave the A/C fan on just to drown out the riff-raff conversations outside my room . The area had transients walking through the parking lot... the only reason I stayed is it was late and a a professional driver, I was out of time.
