Bel hôtel avec beau jardin et belle piscine extérieure (nous ne sommes pas allée voir la piscine intérieure). Notre chambre était un peu petite avec une déco datée et donnait à l'arrière mais elle était propre et bien équipée. La salle de bains était très bien. Avoir un balcon est sympa et pratique. Le point négatif majeur pour moi était l'inconfort du matelas, vraiment dur (j'aime les matelas fermes mais là c'était dur). Le centre est à une dizaine de minutes à pieds mais la marche en bord de lac est agréable.

Très belle hôtel, situé à 5-10 min à pied du centre ville. Vue sur le lac, la piscine est très belle aussi , toujours des transat de disponible, place ombrager, possibilité de se restaurer autour de la piscine Possibilité d’avoir un lit bébé pour 20€/jour et de se garer dans le parking de l’hôtel pour 20€/jour également. Très bon séjour , personnel sympathique et disponible

Super dejligt hotel! Vi havde et economy værelse, som godt nok var lidt lille, men det siger economy jo også, men det var super fint. Beligggenheden er super med gå afstand til byen. Très bel hôtel avec une vue à couper le souffle sur le lac Majeur et les îles Borromées. Hôtel chic, mais qui a vécu. Les étoiles commencent à pâlir… Les chambres sont très mal isolées, on a l’impression d’avoir son voisin dans son salon. La baignoire avec les buses avait un problème, elle ne se remplissait pas. Attention, l’eau des piscines intérieure et extérieure reste relativement froide, car non chauffée, Le service au restaurant laisse à désirer, les plats arrivent alors qu’on n’a pas fini les précédents, et manque de convivialité. Attention, au prix du parking qui reste relativement onéreux (19 €/jour).

An unexpected GEM! The hotel remodeled a number of rooms and ours was incredible. They say the hotel closes in October to complete the job and it will be amazing. We are going to come back next Sept for an extended stay. Can't wait. Great service, close to downtown, very quiet. incredible

The Grand Hotel Bristol, Stresa is a confused 4 or 5 * hotel. The front of the hotel and entrance foyer is beautifully appointed with welcoming reception staff. I booked a very last minute 4 night break for my wife and I in late August. The hotel is split between 2 buildings. The first/main building is lavishly decorated in the public areas. The 2nd building is accessed via an underground walkway decorated with plush carpet's and display cases showing off local souvenirs or via a horizontal elevator. Yes, such a thing exists. The noise it makes does not inspire confidence. Arriving in the 2nd building, the ground floor public space is just the same as the main building. But our room on the 4th/top floor was anything but 5*. It would have been acceptable in a 2* star hotel. My disappointment is that a room of such low quality shouldn't exist in a 5* hotel and be charged over €200 per night to stay in it. Our room and I assume all of the rooms in the 2nd building are in dire need of modernising. The bathroom was old with a shower enclosure which was extremely small and leaked water through the door seals. The hotel does not provide slippers or gowns in the 2* rooms. No kettle or tea & coffee facilities are available in the room. An empty old mini fridge was hidden away in a cupboard.The room was very clean despite it's poor standard of decorating. €25 each for buffet breakfast is also disappointing..the hot food is left in open servers which means its barely warm. Do better!

A little bit hard to move around without a car, so I suggest you rent one, or be ready to spend a few hundred euros in taxis! The location is nice, the view on the lake is amazing. The room were small and the electrical plug was pretty far away from the bed. There's a horizontal elevator that brings you to the other section of the hotel.

Det værelse vi blev tildelt, var slet ikke af samme standard som det fremgår af billederne når man bestiller opholdet. Pga. skrå vægge, så kunne jeg f.eks. ikke stå op i brusebadet og generelt lignede værelset noget som ikke var blevet opgraderet de sidste 30 år. Klinker på gulvet og meget kedelige møbler - slet ikke som det fremgår af billederne for den værelsestype. Det påpegede vi og fik i stedet nogle meget små værelser - så ikke hvad vi havde bestilt. Det skal dog siges, at morgenmaden var ok og at medarbejderne i receptionen var venlige. Det ændre sig ikke ved, at jeg ikke kan anbefale dette hotel

This property is gorgeous. The suite and pool was amazing. The view was breathtaking, pictures don’t do it justice. The staff was very friendly, too. Perfect place for a couples getaway.

Lovely classic hotel but the service lacks. Two attempts to fix a noisy bathroom fan both failed, no apology and theres a lack of good customer service generally. Some staff are polite and friendly others can’t raise a smile. Hot breakfast items were poor and stone cold, other breakfast items very good. Easily rectified issues but can they be bothered?

The staff at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. We got stuck in Arona due to a train strike and managed to get a room at Hotel Bristol and the staff helped us arrange transportation to Milan the next day so we can continue on with our journey. Hotel was really nice, although past its heyday. A really different feature is the “elevator” that moves like a train. Room was very clean, not enough bathroom Amenities. Location was right across Lake Maggiore and walkable from the bus station.

Das Hotel ist wunderschön gelegen am See. Nahe dem Zentrum. Das Zusatzbett war nicht sehr bequem. In der Badewanne unbedint Rutschmatten legen, da es sehr glitschig ist.

Bel hôtel avec beau jardin et belle piscine extérieure (nous ne sommes pas allée voir la piscine intérieure). Notre chambre était un peu petite avec une déco datée et donnait à l'arrière mais elle était propre et bien équipée. La salle de bains était très bien. Avoir un balcon est sympa et pratique. Le point négatif majeur pour moi était l'inconfort du matelas, vraiment dur (j'aime les matelas fermes mais là c'était dur). Le centre est à une dizaine de minutes à pieds mais la marche en bord de lac est agréable.

A little bit hard to move around without a car, so I suggest you rent one, or be ready to spend a few hundred euros in taxis! The location is nice, the view on the lake is amazing. The room were small and the electrical plug was pretty far away from the bed. There's a horizontal elevator that brings you to the other section of the hotel.

Fint läge direkt vid sjön. 5-10min promenad till centrum. Dyr men praktisk parkering i eget garage med elbilsladdare. Gatan utanför var dock gratis att stå på. Ganska fint poolområde i en vacker trädgård. Rum fina, men väldigt små.

Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à séjourner dans ce hotel. La petite ville de Stresa est très agréable, l'hotel est très bien situé, en bord de lac avec une vue magnifique sur les Iles Boromées. Les chambres sont agréables et spacieuses, la décoration un peu surannée, mais c'est ce que je recherchais. Le parc de l'hotel est également très beau avec une belle piscine, suffisamment de place pour que l'on ne s'y sente pas à l'étroit, même en pleine saison. Seul petit bémol, beaucoup d'attente si l'on souhaite faire une commande ``spéciale`` au petit déjeuner (juste des oeufs au plat). Mais pour le reste, tout à été vraiment parfait et nous planifions d'y retourner prochainement.

Lovely classic hotel but the service lacks. Two attempts to fix a noisy bathroom fan both failed, no apology and theres a lack of good customer service generally. Some staff are polite and friendly others can’t raise a smile. Hot breakfast items were poor and stone cold, other breakfast items very good. Easily rectified issues but can they be bothered?

The Grand Hotel Bristol, Stresa is a confused 4 or 5 * hotel. The front of the hotel and entrance foyer is beautifully appointed with welcoming reception staff. I booked a very last minute 4 night break for my wife and I in late August. The hotel is split between 2 buildings. The first/main building is lavishly decorated in the public areas. The 2nd building is accessed via an underground walkway decorated with plush carpet's and display cases showing off local souvenirs or via a horizontal elevator. Yes, such a thing exists. The noise it makes does not inspire confidence. Arriving in the 2nd building, the ground floor public space is just the same as the main building. But our room on the 4th/top floor was anything but 5*. It would have been acceptable in a 2* star hotel. My disappointment is that a room of such low quality shouldn't exist in a 5* hotel and be charged over €200 per night to stay in it. Our room and I assume all of the rooms in the 2nd building are in dire need of modernising. The bathroom was old with a shower enclosure which was extremely small and leaked water through the door seals. The hotel does not provide slippers or gowns in the 2* rooms. No kettle or tea & coffee facilities are available in the room. An empty old mini fridge was hidden away in a cupboard.The room was very clean despite it's poor standard of decorating. €25 each for buffet breakfast is also disappointing..the hot food is left in open servers which means its barely warm. Do better!

Extremely disappointed with our family stay at this hotel for our once a year summer holiday. We felt mislead as only upon arrival we realised that we should take an underground sideways elevator / train to our rooms in a separate annex building not conforming to the pictures or standards of the main hotel. Our view was of the bus parking area and some materials for construction. The shower only fit people with a height of max 170 cm., and we could not stand up in the shower. We ordered a burger at the pool bar at the price of EUR 24 - thus exceeding local Michelin guide main course prices in the Stresa city. The burger appeared to be made of entirely processed food with no burger sauce in it. Two seemingly completely standard tap beers (Blanc) was EUR 20 at the pool bar for a relatively small plastic glass. I will happily pay EUR 20 for a locally brewed craft beer and EUR 24 for a solid, handmade burger, but sadly this was not it. Parking was EUR 20 a day. The pool area and towel service were the only satisfactory part of our stay. Never experienced such sub standard quality for the price of this stay, and we will not come back nor recommend it.

The over price breakfast with cold coffe and tea with no one offered to make fresh coffee when complained to 2 people Make coffee and putting in big pots at what i would say 6am and thinking it fresh and hot at 730 is ridiculous. Dinner was great but they put out the bread before people show up i leave that at that. I forgot worst scrambed eggs i ever tasted

The property has been updated to a very high (if slightly impractical) standard but some decisions are incongruous. The worst decision was to replace all the grass at the property with astroturf. To have plastic grass in an area of outstanding natural beauty is a crime. In room fixtures and fittings are top quality but again there are issues. The lighting controls are baffling and some come on and go off by themselves. The towels are not particularly nice (and there’s nowhere to hang wet ones), the toilet paper is of poor quality and there’s no conditioner provided. You only get 1GB of free WiFi and they won’t provide an iron for ‘security reasons’. Rip up the plastic grass and take care of a few wider issues and this place could be so much better. There is a lot of 5 star competition in the area and this currently feels more ‘Dubai’ than ‘Dolce Vita’.

Absolutely fantastic place! We felt welcome and comfortable throughout our entire stay. Very family- and child-friendly, with a lovely pool and a delicious breakfast buffet, including a special section just for the children. Everything was well thought out, and the staff were friendly. Definitely worth every penny!
