It’s ok, one of the better choices in town that’s not a casino Walk outside and up the long stairway to the main street , there are a few restaurants and shops Hotel lobby has a nice siting area and pool table They don’t have a restaurant or morning lobby coffee.. Starbucks coffee is available in the room

I recently stayed at the Mulberry with my family for a vacation in the Vicksburg area. I selected this hotel because the reviews sounded good and the location was perfect. This review is difficult to write because on one level, the hotel was good because the location was perfect and the aesthetics of the place are pleasing, but those pleasing views cover up some serious problems. When you walk into the hotel, you pass the billiard room before getting to the check-in desk. My children and I decided to play pool there our first night. However, there were about 3 balls or so missing from the pool table. Ironically, this became a metaphor for the entire stay. Things look nice, but they do not distract from the problems. We went swimming, but the pool was poorly maintained. Lots of dirt at the bottom of the pool. Our rooms were nice, but the a/c randomly would set itself to 50 degrees in the middle of the night freezing us. The staff were nice and helpful, but there were so few at any given time it felt like little was getting done. As to the location, it is within walking distance to many nice restaurants in the downtown strip. That, I really appreciated. Overall, my assessment is that this hotel was likely very nice in some distant past, but now it appears to be in decay but with inadequate maintenance. If I return to Vicksburg, I will likely stay somewhere else.

I was excited about staying here from the pictures on the app and from the look of the lobby. But looks can be deceiving. I noticed hardly anyone there, big red flag since it was holiday week. They put us in wrong room to begin with, but no problem since they were nice about it. Our room was small, dirty, and the TV did not work. A couple on our floor asked me about the pool, so I checked it out for myself. GROSS!! Bugs and trash all in it! I only saw one hotel person until checkout. My impression was that it is a hotel with potential, but needs some TLC and more staff to update it

We checked in our room to a pair of shoes from the person before us still in the room. We booked the hotel as a stop on a long trip to let the kids swim and the pool was green and closed. Nothing advertised the pool was closed before booking. Otherwise, the hotel is decent and a nice remodel of an old building.
