On balance it’s a perfunctory and reasonably priced place to stopover on longer journeys, The rooms are decent enough with crisps and small water bottles provided, my issue came when I arrived late to find out there was no parking(although advertised with free parking) I was tired and wanted to lay my head down, one of the staff rather curtly suggested I park on a nearby road, I wouldn’t have booked the hotel had I been made aware of this before hand. To be fair the receptionist was much more understanding and had I spoken to her first I may not have been so irked by this… Room was perfectly nice, I was alone and chose the cheapest double, the bed was comfy and I got a decent nights sleep. The shower in the morning however was cold, I’d say cold water is a big mark down personally as it’s a fundamental of a hotel stay over. So - if you are arriving on a Saturday and leaving early on Sunday I’d suggest making sure both these things are taken care of at least checked before you book.

We spent 2 nights at The Vicarage - very pleasant experience. Friendly welcome very informative. Good choice at Breakfast - nothing too much trouble. Did not have evening menu as was visiting family in the area. Rooms reasonable size - also bathroom - shower could have been better - internet not great but overall very good stay - would return.

We are extremely disappointed at our stay last night for the amount of money we paid the environment was unkempt the surrounding areas before arriving to our room gave us a good indication of what we was about to expect the carpets had not been vacuumed there was thick dust everywhere the fan in the bathroom was broken so each time we used the bathroom there was an horrendous noise The bin in the bedroom was filty the walls had stains splatterd on my partners pillow case had stains the room and hotel was very tired and unkempt i can forward photographs if needed

This was a last minute stop over. Great food and fantastic value for money. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and comfortable. Yes a little warm but like I said wasn’t overpriced so was very happy. The pub and function rooms look fantastic so would definitely recommend a stay or even just to stop for food.

We had Room 1 which can only be described as needing a complete makeover. Admittedly we didn’t pay a fortune but furniture was chipped& shabby, carpet dirty and damaged, room smelt of smoke, bath panel broken and shower head full of mould. Was very disappointed. Our friends had another room which was lovely that they had paid more for but we took what was the only room available at the time of booking.

Room was big and spacious. Initially looked cleaned but on closer inspection the shower was mouldy and the metal hanging unit in the shower was rusted. We had no hot water. Staff were friendly and menu was good. Great location.

This hotel was right on the route I needed to be on, and in that sense it was great. However, despite my warning them of my late arrival, I had to wander around and find someone to ask to check in. Staff were very dismissive. The room was really hot, happily they had a fan. The radiator was off, but the pipe on the wall was basically another radiator! The biggest issue was that the mattress was old/cheap and very thin. The duvet was extremely cheap polyester. These things combined made it rather uncomfortable. I would not stay here again - there's a Travelodge nearby that will be more comfortable.

We had a wedding nearby so needed a place to stay and came across this place. The service and staff have been so friendly, helpful and down to earth. The room we got was spacious and clean. It had an iron and ironing board that we requested already in the room, great touch. It had a rv, tea and coffee selection with a kettle and a complimenatry sparkling water. The bed was great, really comfortable with thick sheets and pillows. Despite being on the ground floor the windows kept the outside noise out. The bathroom had a shower and bath combo, where the shower head was super powerful! Nice complimentary toiletries too. We had dinner and breakfast there, both timesbwere lovely. The food and service was exceptional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chilled and relaxing. The few negatives that we had were the toilet lid and seat didn’t stay up, so made it a bit of challenege to pee standing up. There wasn’t much shelf space for the toiletries, so had to workaround that. There is no air conditioning, which would have been nice as the room gets a vit hot now and again. But these are small negatives and can't fault the amazing service and place that this place is.

The hotels has peacocks wandering around. Yes very random. The noise they make is horrific. Continues the entire stay. Worse than cockerels. On top of the peacock noise there was a dog barking at the noise they were making. So no sleep on the two nights stay.

Turn up and the room we were put in hand't been cleaned and someone had been sleeping in the bed. the room we did have was nice but far to hot and no way of controlling the temperature Definitely not worth the price we paid

The Hotel was a nice stay I used the restaurant and bar, food was good and the staff very polite. my room was comfortable and had the nice touch of tea, coffee and biscuits options with an additional 2 x packs of crisps and 2 x bottles of water. The bed could do with a new mattrass as there was no padding left in it, when sat on there you felt the base. Apart from that all was ok.

Unfortunately the room stayed in was very tired and very hot. We had to keep the window open all night but as the car park was directly outside, we were kept awake. I used the hotel checkin emailed to me but couldn’t find anyone on arrival. The complimentary Continental Breakfast was very poor. Bread not fresh, no yogurt and pastries stale. What a shame.

I had booked for two nights for myself and my daughter. On the second day whilst at work my daughter had to go to A&E - we spent 6 hours at hospital and afterwards as a result of her health decided to go back to the hotel and collect our things to go home. I arrived at the hotel and informed the receptionist of this and that we would no longer need the room for the night. She did not ask how my daughter was, if we needed anything for our journey back or even show any empathy or anything. At the least I would of hoped for a little empathy or for her to offer something - but nothing - all I got was… that’s fine we’re all done here so you can just grab your things. Terrible in my view - even an offer of a % off the next visit as a gesture or any empathy would have made me perhaps book again… but nothing, so I won’t be going back on that basis. Which is a shame as the people who work in restaurant and bar were amazing and amazing food too. Business need to empower their staff to be ‘human’ it’s as simple as that really.

On the second day whilst at work my daughter had to go to A&E - we spent 6 hours at hospital and afterwards as a result of her health decided to go back to the hotel and collect our things to go home. I arrived at the hotel and informed the receptionist of this and that we would no longer need the room for the night. She did not ask how my daughter was, if we needed anything for our journey back or even show any empathy or anything. At the least I would of hoped for a little empathy or for her to offer something - but nothing - all I got was… that’s fine we’re all done here so you can just grab your things. Terrible in my view - even an offer of a % off the next visit as a gesture or any empathy would have made me perhaps book again… but nothing, so I won’t be going back on that basis. Which is a shame as the people who work in restaurant and bar were amazing and amazing food too. Business need to empower their staff to be ‘human’ it’s as simple as that really.

The room was nice, clean and comfortable, the breakfast was nice enough although items missing. I booked an early check in which didn't occur as the room wasn't ready and was still charged for it... and at an incorrect amount. The website said pay on arrival and the hotel took the amount 3 days before I arrived. So although the room was nice enough the rest of it wasn't a very good service at all. I am still awaiting a response!! :(

Enjoyed the stay at the hotel, staff were super friendly, absolutely loved the decor. Rooms were nice. ONE BIG problem (Not the hotel’s fault) woken up by blooming Peacocks screeching at 5am. Otherwise a lovely pleasant stay and would stay there again

A convenient location for what we were doing. It has plenty of parking, including reserved parking for residents when there's a large event on. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was clean and a reasonable size and had little extras like crisps. Breakfast had a good choice of items for which you pay extra to the room and pay on the morning. My only small comment would be that the stair carpet needs replacing - it's worn and ripped, and doesn't give a good impression before you get to your room.

The hotels has peacocks wandering around. Yes very random. The noise they make is horrific. Continues the entire stay. Worse than cockerels. On top of the peacock noise there was a dog barking at the noise they were making. So no sleep on the two nights stay.

The manager kindly connected an extension lead in the dining room to our car charging cable. unfortunately, he failed to tell the night porter who unplugged the extension and shut the doors on my expensive cable which has been badly damaged! Room ok but with windows open bad traffic noise early morning.

The traffic was very heavy passed the front of the building were the table and chairs for sitting out were situated. There was no quiet drink sat there. I had to clean two seats before sitting down. A huge facility was across the busy roads were wagon and huge trailer went to unload produce. I noticed immediately all the table tops in the breakfast room had rings sticky rings were drinks had been placed. At first I thought it was in the pattern of the wood tables. I had to clean the table before I could use one to wait for our friends. As I mentioned in the other form this is a dog friendly pub. But the dogs were smelly from there walks and one sat each morning just simpering at its owners while they had breakfast. It was annoying and uncomfortable for the rest of the breakfast people not just ourselves. The coffee was awful too. Prices a bit too high.

Unfortunately the room stayed in was very tired and very hot. We had to keep the window open all night but as the car park was directly outside, we were kept awake. I used the hotel checkin emailed to me but couldn’t find anyone on arrival. The complimentary Continental Breakfast was very poor. Bread not fresh, no yogurt and pastries stale. What a shame.

Comfortable room, modern and clean. The toilet flush was weak but that was all. The restaurant was great and we were fortunate to be served by two wait staff who were exceptionally good and very pleasant - one who served us for dinner and one who served us for breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

When we arrived we were informed that the restaurant was closed. The rooms were in poor condition with dirty carpets The shower temperatures kept fluctuating from hot to cold. The staff were however very pleasant dealing with the situation.
